3tmk October 7th, 2004, 07:08 PM well welcome to SSC, but you seem a little bit ecstatic about NYC, it's much worse than you think, I was overly disappointed when I came to NYC, I just learned to cope with it with skycrapers, which is the #1 reason I love NYC, there's so much diversity here, you can spend all day on only one building, a whole lifetime wouldn't be enough to see them all!
anyway, hope you have a great time here!
swivel October 7th, 2004, 09:37 PM Welcome NYaddict..what took you so long :)
Keep that energy you have for NYC...
You'll fit in just fine with the rest of us junkies :D
....and I'm sure one day NYC will be the place you like to call home
cheers .... Justin (resident NYC wanna-be) :dance2:

and feel free to browse the entire website, i'm confident you'll find tons of stuff outside of the nyc subforum that'll appeal to you too!
NYaddict October 8th, 2004, 10:33 AM thanks everyone :cheers1:
i began with my states love around my 12th because of a weird thing, pretty strange if you see in what kind of situation im involved now.
Anyway,i've never been to the States, have had a terrible time w/ GF and was going to school still.
i'm out of school at the moment, graduated what would be college in the u.s i think.
Lookin' for a fulltime job while i work part-time at a gasstation.
i don't have the money to come to NYC so soon.
I will most likely get there next year
LeCom October 10th, 2004, 11:03 PM Why didn't you sign up just when u found the forum? Welcome anyway. I live in the burbs of NY, and occasionally you can see Manhattan from my area, which is like 15-20 km away. Adding to 3tmk, at first I hated NY when I just came over to the city but I've grown to love it (in many things I love it now for the things I used to hate), and something that helped me get there were skyscrapers.

question : how does chicago compare to NYC in terms of living ?
FerrariEnzo October 25th, 2004, 04:14 AM NYC is more expensive on average but the atmosphere just isnt the same. Im a bit biased to say this but where else can you roll over to the Statue of Liberty, see the House that Ruth built, hang with Koffi Annan at the UN, get a dollar bill signed by Donald Trump? New York. Plus I hear that Chicago is quite windy. PS: Ghostbusters took place in NY, what more can I say. (probably alot if you provoked me)
New Jack City July 12th, 2005, 01:51 AM I wonder what happened to him? :dunno:

Chicago is, IMO, the second greatest city in the country and it is a hell of a lot cheaper than NYC. A lot of people think Chicago gives you the best bang for your buck in terms of urban living in the country.
