Like I said, next time be proactive in the banner making process with us and we'll have a much much better banner next time. I'm glad to see it again regardless, I can care less about the comments. Up until last time, Somalia never had a banner ever in SSC and now this is the second time in seven months.

Banners are the last thing Somalia needs to compete for. When I had nothing to my name I didn't flash bling for a reason. But, I'm only saying if a banner is going to be done it should be done. I'm still trying to reason with the mind who would take time to make something so awful and pass it off. I'm done for the night, I'll keep my ear open to the next request, I've got great candidates in the Bari coastal region.

Luanda has been shown twice (on the same month) this year. I sent a new banner for the third time but it was denied cause the image was "all rights reserved". I need to wait till Augustus when I finally get to Luanda so that I can make my own pictures.

Ahh, they also mostly accept skyline or cityscapes. but I'm sure other type are rarely accepted too :)

Finally you must resize your image to 719px in width by 123px in height and it's resolution has to be 72dpi.

The resolution thing is photshop's default so usually you don't have to worry about it. Also if anyone need a resizing help or maybe photo adjustments, I can do that for you :)

Go to Page 1 of this topic, I've already demonstrated how easy it is to make a quality banner. Again, its just not good to present the country with low quality imagery, it just further ruins the image people had and that's probably not your objective.

It took me 5 seconds to make this from another image. Just pick a city you want to do next and I'll have a banner ready and meeting the requirements. I can make Mogadishu look like Tel Aviv with some cropping.

Janub if it was that easy; plenty of better images for Barawa would have been used, but they are copyrighted, or the source is unknown, and therefore they won't be accepted without "permission" from the image-owners.

A similar Merca banner has already been featured, and yes that was a great banner capturing the entire city. Yours is 942 x 242 pixles, the requirements are 719 x 123px. If you can find good quality images showing the cityscapes of Gondershe, Kismayu, Hargeisa, Bosaso etc or heritage sites like the Taleex Fortress, that aren't copyrighted, they are most definitely welcome.

I'm not going to apologise for taking the time to create a banner and submit it at the right place because you believe there are other African countries more deserving. It's like stating that a war-torn Morocco or Egypt would suddenly no longer have the right to showcase their many wonderful cities.

The banners are serving their purpose, and that's create interest, if one happens to be of low-quality, atleast they will find their way to better images.( or maybe its just me who google's a city when its on the frontpage)
