ILOVERDC13 July 6th, 2011, 12:28 PM Lubumbashi is a growing city and yes very very different from Cape Town. It's a typical African city which needs to be modernized. Projects such as Luano city could have turned the city around and hopefully it would be done soon. There is hope that things will turn around sometime soon even though it seems like the progression is done by one person rather than the provincial government.
Lubumbashi is not a touristic place to visit, it's more of place where you can go and find opportunities to work even if it might be very very hard to find without the right connections.
If I didn't not have family and friends I would hate the city. It's also a place to visit if you are an adventurous person who wants to see another world in the 21 century.
Karavia July 6th, 2011, 08:54 PM Lubumbashi was small but now it's growing very fast. I would say it's not the modernization who determinates if a city is " a must see" (see Cuba:-)) , I think the vibe, the culture, the dynamic are more important. With the war & the mining boom , Lubumbashi has seen his population more than tripled , of course everyone must find his place and it' s not always easy. I really had good time begining of June during my holidays, you can visit some good places (Kundelungu park, Lofoi falls, ferme futuka), the clubs play a lot of kenyan, zambian, south african music. As Lubumbashi Ville is small, all clubs are very close (21, Bluetooth,Chez Ntemba etc...). When you visit a place don't look for the things you know but discover how the others live. I did it!
MBA-Congo July 6th, 2011, 08:59 PM what Kenyan song is popular in Lubumbashi?
MBA-Congo July 6th, 2011, 09:11 PM Tanzanian songs are unless you mean Gospel catholic stations, that play that bullshit pan-african nonesense throughtout the catholic world. What Kenyan song is popular to the general public? Bluetooth is small place, why go there when you have the whole of Kamalondo and Kenya. Revolution has some real nice clubs but to me it's to close to home, no freedom.
Karavia July 6th, 2011, 09:25 PM There are many things..... I don't have the pretention to know everything and again it' is only my opinion, it's not biblical. Music play in the club not TOP 100 !!
MBA-Congo July 6th, 2011, 09:37 PM My brother made it to number 6 on the countdown:lol::lol:. His in a zouk/rap group. Did you hear his song?

MBA-Congo July 8th, 2011, 03:45 AM Nothing wrong with Camping, that's what natures for trekking!!
BUTEMBO21 July 8th, 2011, 03:51 AM I know. I meant that he should go Camping with you because thats your thing. Pick up some chicks from UNILU.
I like Camping myself . Camping on Tanganyika lake will be cool.
MBA-Congo July 8th, 2011, 04:05 AM Worst thing you can do is invite a girl to a camping trip, how many rubbers can you go through a week. Eventually you'll just be rawing it and when its time to head home you'll have to deal with a quick dowry. I still don't understand the basis for a dowry, why must I pay for a dowry, makes no sense at all.

I thought you were a true MUNTU ........ you should not question why paying dowry.

MBA-Congo July 8th, 2011, 05:59 AM Imagine the average man makes at least $1300 and more if you hustle, you can easily make at least $2000 a year. A dowry will run you about $750+ depending on the girl and her family, her education. THe whole crap about buying a goat or cow, clothes, and whatever the girl mother and relatives want for handing you their daughter is a bit to much pressure and that's just the first round then you have the closure which can run you another $750+ at the end your probably spending $3000 how does the average man afford to get marry. Your marrying into debt. Why do that when you can marry a foriegner not pay for chit and when divorce hit around the corner you boot her right back to her home country, you ain't got to deal with her anymore. Plus, I can't commit to just one woman and will have a hard time booting the one I got now. But I think my girl is going to have a hard time in Congo woman are really bold, bossy and controlling. It's like they know you well I guess when your from the same background you understand eachother. But I refuse to pay a dowry, no way should I. The girl is marrying into wealth the little bit I have so why shouldn't she pay me. We got gay people getting married and I would like to get a dowry to get married. But that's just me people don't understand but all marriages are business affairs.

Whats wrong bringing a chick Camping? Some love going Camping . That was just a thought , though.
How many rubbers? Depends on how long the Camping will last.
MBA-Congo July 8th, 2011, 06:47 AM Then take them, I just wouldn't take a woman into the woods unless your lodging it. How many black woman like camping?
BUTEMBO21 July 8th, 2011, 06:56 AM Then take them, I just wouldn't take a woman into the woods unless your lodging it. How many black woman like camping?

MBA-Congo July 8th, 2011, 07:26 AM I thought about getting a motorcycle, a cousin rode his bike from Lubumbashi to Kamina, I can make it to Mbuji Mayi.

Motorcycle to Mbuji-Mayi? Just make sure you have enough gas between Kolwezi-Kamina-Mwene-Ditu.
It consumes faster because of a small tank.
The road between Kamina-Mwene-Ditu is hellish. you'll spend weeks to make it, but could take days since its just a motorcycle. Good adventure though.

Okay cool I'ma there in december so we will see.

Far? I went out at 150 km from Luboom, the road is very good and honestly I really enjoyed to meet people from that part. I need to resize the pictures, they are too big, I will post them when I finished to upload them.
MBA, with his stereotype! So , I assume you think black women, only like to seat at those terrasses? Right???
What people do during their vaccay? I'm quite curious, I talked with a friend of a friend , he said , he went to the terrasse, Chez Tintin, Maluku, he visited all night clubs... in summary he had only partied, I have to admit he scared me because I started to think we don't know our country and we don't want to know more than what we know
MBA-Congo July 9th, 2011, 07:41 PM Mwana Mukaji, what's wrong with watching a river, water is calming. Chez Tintin suck, Maluku suck, but Kasapa has some nice clubs our secretary is addicted to clubing 100% Kinois. Her and our driver get plastered in Kasapa.
BUTEMBO21 July 9th, 2011, 08:01 PM MBA, You gotta meet some fun black girls who are adaventirous man. Most Congolese girl i have met are adventurous.
Personally, i will be so bored if my girl is not adventurous.
MBA-Congo July 9th, 2011, 08:27 PM Maybe i'll dive into that thought when I'm a loose canon and committed to it, but as of yet I like my freedom. Camping with a chick is a commitment, what sane father would let you take their daughter to the woods unless your taking a skank to the woods. Skanks are adventurous aren't they?:lol:

We're in the West man. Well i know back home security is sucks. But there are girls that wouldn't mind going Camping. They know their parents would let them. But some chicks have the freedom nowadays.
BTW; I think i will have to get a Congolese chick thats Westernized or not a Home stayer (That will be so boring ). I like adevenurous chicks.
MBA-Congo July 9th, 2011, 09:55 PM I guess, if I was to head into that direction where I decide to commit to the responsibity I'll leap forward but then why rush it. Whole month traveling in Katanga would take someone with alot of committment, and her own pocket. 50/50 is the Western way of doing things. Woman back home think getting married somehow entitles them to everything. Your home is theirs, your business must pay for their livelyhood, their exactly what you said Home Stayers, bratty little princess. Chicks from Kasai aren't that bad their dowry is the lowest when compared to others.
