There is a Romanian member in the EE subforums, but he's been out lately, maybe he has some better pics.
anyway, just like Sofia, not much of a skyline, but it's a bigger city, and has a couple of office buildings, and I like the architecture.

The city has some beautiful architecture, especially the neoclassical stuff, but as far as a skyline, it doesn't have much of one.

Even though this is old I still want to put my input in. From first hand experiance I will say that this city is kind of slummy adn that these pictures are of the few nice buildings in the city. THe place is really kind of poor and I left after being their for a day for *thinks* Istanbul I think...anyway thats not important. I was extremely unimpressed by the city, although from the train the country side was very beautiful. I heard that it is cheeper in ROmania to wallpaper your house with the Romanian currency than it is to actually buy wallpaper O_o

I was there too since I have a Romanian parent. I didn't like this city either. When I was there there were tons of commie blocks that had been stopped during construction and they were all over the place.

Brasov is a beautiful city though, I was there too ;)

It is an interesting building; especially being built in the 1970's. However it just reminds me of that horrid dictator Ceaucescu and his bitch wife.

Bucharest needs better photos for a good rating. I 'll give it a 7. It's a very interesting city.

I am very intrigued by this city. It is one of those cities that can be eastern or western.

That is because Ceacescu used Pyongyang for his master plan of Bucharest. He destroyed the oldest most architectually fabulous parts of the city. There was an area much like Montmartre in Paris that is no longer. Bucharest could be in the same vein of Prague and Budapest if he did not destroy the city's oldest quarters.
