Driving down Coral way the other day, past miracle mile, i noticed, damn, theres alotta condos goin up. I mustve coutned like 5 mid -rise condos goin up in like 5 blocks... so i tought id start a thread about coral way, and its future as miamis perhaps biggest condo canyon in the future... itll take me a while to luk up all the projects, and ill try to post as many as i can

also i heard city of miami is thinking about building a street car line down coral way from downtown miami to downtown coral gables (after they build the line north up 2nd ave), but we all know how well city of miami plans always work out...

you're right nimby...I sometimes drive to downtown via Coral Way and the amount of mid-rises and urbanity already there is amazing and surprising. And yes there are many many condo signs on locaton, I look forward to seeing this place develop Even More than now!

Coral Way directly connects the downtown Miami area, to downtown Coral Gables, the biggest, and closest "downtowns" on mainland Miami, a street car system would be perfect there, even better than a street car system for Biscayne Blvd, imo (what would really be awesome is one that went from DT Gables to Downtown, and up via Biscayne!)

if they do end up buiding the both of them... theyll prob do that, run in an "L" type shape, with the bend in downtown, or maybe a cirlce goin through downtown or somethin, either way, thatll also connect to baylink.. the systems gonna kik ass

here are the sites of a few, blue is my favorite, if this comes out like in the picutres, this is definetly gonna b one of my favorites in miami

http://www.coralplaza.com/
this one is without a doubt one of the ugliest buildings ive seen in my entire life, its horrible

this one is in downtown coral gables, i honestly dont even know if its on coral way, but its just so amazing, had to post it

also, theres a pretty generic lucking building called "the aston" that was finished more than a year ago, not good looking at all, but could be worse, it could be as bad as coral plaze, i couldnt find the website to get a picture of it, as soon as i do, ill post it

more to come later...

Yes Nimby, :) THE BLUE CONDOS ON CORAL WAY is my favorite Too, In Fact I talked with BOVIS Construction Group and They said they're going to build It, WOW, that means BLUE will be built !!! I watched Coral Way grow since the early 80's and NOW its Awesome with so many Condos and Office buildings UP and Ready to go UP. CORAL WAY will Connect BRICKELL and CORAL GABLES with a LINE OF TOWERS Like THE CHINA WALL, LOL.

I've been meaning to start this thread for a while now. I go running through these neighborhoods and night and they're some of my favorites in all of Miami. Coral Way is really maturing as a retail destination and all these new residents can only increase that. There's a ton of new restaraunts along the strip.

There are literally dozens of midrise projects going up through the area. From Coral Gables into Silver Bluff and further into the Roads. It's jaw dropping when i see it. These projects don't make the news but they are going to add so much density to the area.

Take a drive down 27th ave from Coral Way to US1. There are at least 6 midrise projects going up in that little 4 to 5 block section alone. There's a few going up to the north along Flagler as well.

This isn't just a highrise condo boom. They are literally building everywhere.

A couple of buildings just finished on 27th. There's one off of Coral Way at 32nd I think. There's Nordica, down in the Roads. I've seen more signs, but can't think of any names off the top of my head.

I guess i need to start writing this stuff down.

The roads area is the area of miami west of brickell where the streets go at a diagnol to the grid. They're call roads, hence the Roads region.

Last I heard the sign was gone. I'm hoping that they just removed it for the hurricane. Haven't heard anything about it since then.

edit:
scratch that. I just went for a lunch hour (more of a midnightsnack hour) run down there and the sign is there, along with an architect and engineering comp sign. Hopefully that means construction will start soon.

it's 17 stories.
http://www.nordicacondos.com

also there was a another topped out condo that didn't show the name. it was a similar design and around 15 stories. aprox. 3-4 blocks west of nordica.
