vigo80 October 12th, 2004, 03:26 PM I gave it a 7 not so much for the height or density which is not impressive but because the city seems to have a lot of buildings and highrises with African design influences- that is very nice and I wish more Asian and other African cities would integrate more of their local heritage in their buildings instead of building boring western blocks.
Looks internesting and the natural setting seems quite beautiful.

well i know cameroon's neighbors have oil, but i don't thinkk they have much i could be wrong though. Also i think Douala is their main city and Yaounda is the newer purposely built capital city

Yaoundé is the political capital while Doula is the economical one, its as simple as that.

Crownsteler January 14th, 2006, 11:14 PM I've actually been there, not much to see in terms of skyscrapers or highrises, but still a pretty interesting city to visit, far better than Douala, which, although being far more westernished, left a very hostile impression on me, Yaounde on the other hand was for more friendly, though the smaller towns we visited around the country (but we stayed most of the time in Maroua, in the far north) were far more friendly.
Anyway, I'll give it a 7, just for the sake of it :)
