Sharjah will allow 100 per cent foreign ownership of land for commercial projects that will generate jobs for UAE nationals, Gulf News reported. Ahmad Mohammad Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the plans would complement the forthcoming UAE company and foreign investment law.

If Shj allowed expats to buy 100% freehold residential property there there would be a BOOM, maybe just as good (or even better) than Dubai's. Think of the number of people that live in Sharjah but work in Dubai. And plus, the prices would be much cheaper there, whereas I don't think most SHJ people would be able to afford most of the freehold stuff that's come up in Dubai

and it need to keep the heat of Dubai
i just hope these two cities link up
both by road and decent rail in future
what a gold mine that no-mans land between the two would be for development !
