Tala Island
Imagine an endless sea stretching beyond the far horizon - clear and unspoilt
Now Dream of an island - Calm, Unhurried, Green. A place where lifestyle is simply meant to be - where both solitude and togetherness merge in a passion of place and time.

Tala Island
Introduction

The Amwaj Islands Development is a man-made multi-island resort on the northeastern coast of Muharraq. This unique project comprises serveral linked islands projecting some two kilometers into the Arabian Gulf and connected to Muharraq by a causeway.

At the heart of the Amwaj chain lies Tala Island - an exclusive lifestyle island that redefines the expected characteristics of premium residential developments. This secure 'gated' residential community offers unique beachfront properties and mid-market apartments with a community building, landscaped pool and beach areas, a boardwalk, marina facility and ample parking.

Tala Island lies to the seaward part of the main Amwaj group, yet offers close access to all other aspects of the total development including marina, hotels and theme islands.

Planning

Environmental planning of Tala Island ensures the right mix of building types. Higher level apartment building are zoned to the centre of the development, while villas and low level buildings are to the frontages. This considered approach maximises the view and outlook for each property and is combined with generous landscaping to soften the streetscape.

Location

Tala Island offers an ideal residential location with convenient access to all areas of Bahrain through a newly constructed three-lane highway. The entire development has been designed as a permanent residential village - not just a holiday retreat. Purpose-built for families, Tala has recreational and community based infrastructure integral to its design philosophy.

Tala Island is only 10 minutes from Bahrain's International Airport; 22 minutes from Manama City Centre and 45 minutes from the King Fahad Causeway to Saudi Arabia.

Commuting is fast and easy, yet the island has been carefully designed to offer its residents quiet and tranquility far out in the clean waters of the Gulf.

Global connectivity

Bahrain lies in the heart of the Arabian Gulf, midway between east and west time zones offering an ideal base for businesses dealing in international markets.

Buyers will have a 15-year repayment period. The first phase of Tala Island is due to be completed in Q4 2005 while the entire project will be ready in 2007.

Weird logic in Tala
Posted on » Sunday, May 17, 2009

This is in response to 'Apartheid in Tala' (GDN, May 7).

Dear Shooka, well done for highlighting this ludicrous situation in Tala Island.

I am also a resident of Amwaj and my wife and I have also been prevented from entering the Tala area by security guards who tell me that we are not allowed in at all.

(No mention of being accompanied by a resident).

Apparently the rule is that no one who is a non-resident is permitted to enter and shop at the store or visit a restaurant during the week.

You are supposedly allowed in at a weekend.

Weirdest logic I have ever encountered.

What is very strange is that on a number of occasions I have walked into Tala from the other entrance - which is unmanned - strolled around the facilities, bought some groceries, then walked out through the security manned gate without anyone even looking at me.

I have never noticed the shopping area being crowded and doubt if the grocery store and two food/coffee outlets are making much of a living from the residents.

There are also large numbers of apartments standing empty so it is hard to see how they can be making a profit.

I recommend the Al Osra supermarket at the entrance to Amwaj, brilliant selection of goods, very friendly staff and they are also opening a coffee shop very soon. That will make life much better for us and we can leave the Tala Islanders with their private exclusive facility all to themselves. David Piper Amwaj resident
