Current Status: [Aug, 2011] Proposed for HBS Developers, pending approval.

Creating a thread to hopefully raise the profile of this interesting mixed-use project by Sanjay Puri architects located somewhere Mumbai for HBS Developers (http://mumbai.justdial.com/hbs-realtors-pvt-ltd-worli-%28corp-off%29_worli_Mumbai_vckbheePrsq.htm). The project features a twin 65 floor office block, 45 floor hotel and other residential towers.

From the official description in Sanjay Puri's Indian-Architects portfolio (http://www.indian-architects.com/projects/detail_thickbox/30798/plang:en-gb?TB_iframe=true&width=850&height=570):
The Hotel Building Twists Along Its Axis With Open Breaks Between Sets Of 4 Rooms To Allow Views Towards The Sea From The Corridor Simultaneously Cross Ventilating The Circulation Spaces.

The Offices In 3 Wings Are Angled To Get Different Views Of The Sea Stepping Back Vertically In Blocks Of 6 To 8 Floors With Large Semi Open Terrace Gardens Fronting Them. The Entire Circulation Space And The Office Spaces Are Cross Ventilated With Service Cores On The Southern Side To Reduce Heat Gain Into The Building. All The Office Spaces Face North For Indirect Sunlight And Unrestricted Sea Views.

The Residential Apartments In Two Wings Are Planned With The Service Cores On The Southern Face, Cross Ventilated Apartments Angled With Varying Views Of The Sea And Naturally Ventilated Circulation Spaces. Large Semi Open Terrace Balconies Front Each Apartment On The North With Sea Views. The design won commendation at the MIPIM Architectural Review Future Project Awards 2011, in the mixed-use category.

It's not bad looking, hope it turns out good in reality though. Mumbai seems to forming it's own style of a skyline with wacky designs like this and others such as Shreepati Gardens.

btw, I think this is coming up in Worli?

Problem here is people here don't want new concepts its a good design just a bit different for a building in Mumbai

but problem is all buildings in Mumbai look good when built but due to their tough to maintain paint and a typical concrete boxed style building gets worse day by day in look so they need more glass and metal facade but builders here just don't want to spend more :bash:

I like the fact that they are trying to do something different. But I don't like the fact that they go out of their way to do something this different.

it is innovative for sure... but we forget it is only an artistic representation... in reality the shadow from protruding sun decks or balconies as we call it, may create an aesthetic havoc... but i like the idea where every apartment is different from the other with varying floor space... quite innovative nonetheless...

What? This makes no sense. Would you like them to be different by accident?

been following SSC for 2-3 years now but i am new here.

the design looks quite bold and out-of-the box.it is likeable but may seem a little out of place there...think it will look breathtaking in real
