Alstom wins renovation contract in Egypt
Each unit is composed by one trailer car framed by two motorcars, which sum up to 156 cars. These cars were delivered by Alstom in 1980. The renovation work will cover the brake system as well as the electrical and traction equipment. The work will be carried out over a period of 5 years and will take place mainly in the Tura workshop which belongs to the Cairo Metro Organization.
The signature of the contract was carried during the inauguration of the New “El Marg” metro station on Line1, in front of the media and numerous officials.
This contract opens the door to spare parts contracts in relation with the renovation work as well as future opportunities for the renovation of some other 46 units delivered by Alstom in 1987.
