View Full Version : [Warsaw] Hotel Hilton [90m-27f]
Petr October 15th, 2004, 10:37 PM Hilton Plaza would have around 98 m.
It's a part of planned complex Centrum Grzybowska (it also includes 2 residential towers and 1 office tower)
Singidunum October 15th, 2004, 10:43 PM when do they plan to finish it?
any other rendering?

Sergei October 15th, 2004, 11:04 PM I don't like it. It's too simple and boring. It's like a block of glass.
doc October 15th, 2004, 11:10 PM it does look bit plaine especially for Hilton but its's one of those glass boxes wich look much better in reality than on renderings

I have opposite feelings, but everyone has right to his own opinion. :)

In this case "plain" sounds for me positive. I'm waiting impatiently for this tower.
michal1982 October 15th, 2004, 11:17 PM look not bad, but i think it's to small!!!! i think it should have min. 120 m
Singidunum October 15th, 2004, 11:20 PM I am waiting for this ;) hehe :

warpus October 15th, 2004, 11:25 PM Where exactly is this being built? How far is it from PKIN and the existing skyline?
Jacek October 15th, 2004, 11:29 PM Not that far, it's between PKiN and WTT, so it's a nice "void filler". The complex itself will have 4 tall structures and it will be located next to 3 other highrises so together we will have at least 7 (!!!) highrise buildings in one area.
Piotr October 15th, 2004, 11:31 PM Its one of those buildings that depends a lot on what glass they use. If they use regular blue reflective, it will look like crap. If the glass is clearer and not too reflective, it will look great.
Petr October 15th, 2004, 11:36 PM Where exactly is this being built? How far is it from PKIN and the existing skyline?
It is westwards from the main "cluster" but eastwards from the Warsaw Trade Tower. The entire complex together with Centrum Zelazna would be some kind of link between those two.
It's about 1500 meters to the PKiN.

Nice! Sounds like a good place to put it. Centrum Zelazna? How big is it supposed to be? Are there any renderings of it?
wholagun October 16th, 2004, 08:24 AM Meh, I not a big fan, its too simple. Its too squarish, Warsaw really needs something that isn't square/or box like.
Petr October 16th, 2004, 10:05 AM Nice! Sounds like a good place to put it. Centrum Zelazna? How big is it supposed to be? Are there any renderings of it?
It will contain only one not very tall tower (offices or hotel) but in a very appropriate place.
Here look at the green vertical line:

Work starts on new hotel complex
Work is now under way in the north west of the central business district of Warsaw on a new hotel complex, which is to contain a conference centre, two residential buildings, offices, a shopping arcade and underground car parking. The site is located on the intersection of ul. Grzybowska and ul. Wronia
The hotel, operated by the Hilton chain, will offer 313 rooms on 22 floors. When open, in the beginning of 2006, guests will also be able to take advantage of the complex’s casino.
Work on the residential towers will begin in March 2005. The apartments will be offered in various sizes from 40 sqm to 137 sqm. The office development element is currently in the preliminary design stage, but is expected to provide around 27,000 sqm.
The projects developers are Stooga, Elran Real Estate, Arenson, CE and Dirom and financing is being provided by Volksbank – Immoconsult.

Hilton in Warsaw
By Andrzej Ratajczyk
27 October 2004
Poland's first Hilton hotel, with an ultra-modern conference center, will be opened in downtown Warsaw at the beginning of 2006. At further investment stages, the project will be expanded to include an office building, luxury apartment blocks and an elegant shopping center.
"We are the world's best known hotel brand, present in 75 countries. We are very happy that Hilton's flag will soon fly over one of the most important cities in the world. We believe that the opening of Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Conference Center will be a development important not only for the city but also for the development of tourism," said Didier Martin, Vice-President for Operations at Hilton International.
"Warsaw is the last big city in the region without a Hilton hotel. This needed to be changed as soon as possible. What made the decision to start this project easier for us was that we regarded Poland as a good investment location, with a transparent economic system and clear legal provisions," said Tal Einhorn, a representative of the investors.
Stooga, Elran Real Estate, Arenson, CE and Dirom, operating on the real estate market in Europe and North America, are developers of the complex. The first project to be implemented, estimated at 53 million euros, is Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Conference Center. It was designed by Biuro Projektów Kazimierski i Ryba with the participation of international design offices. HGC supervises the implementation of the project on behalf of the owners, while finance is provided by Volksbank-Immoconsult of Vienna.
With 22 floors, the hotel will have 313 rooms and business suites, a presidential suite, bars and restaurants, stores and a casino. The hotel will also be equipped with a fitness club and spa, covering 4,000 sq m, to be run by well-known multinational company Holmes Place 77.
The Conference Center will house Warsaw's largest conference hall, which will cover 1,500 sq m. "The Center will provide facilities appropriate for the largest international conferences as well as commercial and promotional events. This will be a perfect place to arrange big events, fashion shows and presentations of new car models," said Elran Holdings Chairman Gadi Dankner.
The Hotel and the Conference Center will be run by Hilton International (HI), the operational part of Hilton Group plc based in the United Kingdom, which owns the rights to the Hilton brand throughout the world except in the United States. HI runs 394 hotels, 253 under the Hilton brand name.
Representatives of the investors do not fear competition from other international hotel chains operating in Poland. "Hilton is synonymous with prestige and a brand valued the highest by business," said Dankner. "Moreover, the Polish hotel market has great prospects for growth. The Polish economy is developing fast; foreign investment is on the rise. Considering Poland's recent accession to the European Union, one should also expect a considerable growth in the entertainment, business and conference sectors."
The hotel is to be the first stage of the future complex. The ground floor will be linked through a shopping mall to two residential buildings and an office building. The towering residential buildings will each feature 22 stories. The office building will close off the whole complex, centered around an open square. The office space is planned to occupy some 27,000 sq m. The project is in the initial design phase. The total area of buildings in the complex will amount to 140,000 sq m.

Filip December 20th, 2004, 07:22 PM So is the USCE...
USCE might be simple, but it's elegant. No weird postmodern tackyness, just one simple block can sometimes have the best effects (the old WTC for example).
Singidunum December 20th, 2004, 10:57 PM So is the USCE...

Can someone show me the USCE?
Anyway, it doesn't matter where the building is ... if it was in Kiev, to me the rendering still looks too boring. It's too simple for my tastes. And I agree with filip, some simplicity works well, like in the old WTC, but for this one, I think they could've done some better things.

Tomesh October 26th, 2005, 02:50 PM im really dissapointed. Its of a boring shape, the proportions arent good and the facade is mediocre.
AdamT October 26th, 2005, 07:24 PM I think it's an OK building not ugly not extraordinary. What I like is that the vents on the briad side are the same size as the windows... makes it look like there are levels all the way up to the very top :) I give it a passing grade, but nothing more, it is better than nothing at all. I think the building would have been better if the facade would be in a dark colour, more contrast to the other buildings. A building of some height was needed in this location. Cant wait for the other negihbouring buildings to start construction!!!
wholagun October 26th, 2005, 07:32 PM IMO it's a typical american skyscraper simple, boring, and square.
(oh boy im gonna get it from the Americans for saying that)

Sergei October 29th, 2005, 11:56 PM ^ Overall, I find it underwhelming. It's really nothing special, Warsaw could do so much better! Just look at Rondo!
bloodsaric November 6th, 2005, 01:01 PM no more squares :'( add some "SEXY" to it!

wholagun November 29th, 2005, 04:59 PM although i don't really like it, I think it may grow on me.
AdamT November 29th, 2005, 07:40 PM I think it's an acceptable addition to the skyline of Warsaw, nothing extravagant. Simple and elegant, though I'd like it more if the facade would be in a dark colour instead :)
Petr December 22nd, 2005, 01:29 PM ^^
Indeed acceptable. ;)

intervention December 25th, 2005, 05:06 AM Are they going to do anything with those wonderfully historic and well preserved examples of tenement architecture [end sarcasm] scattered around the area?
SaRaJeVo-City February 23rd, 2006, 12:04 AM hm, interesting...could of been better but I like it..
Stobiecka March 24th, 2006, 09:08 AM In this case "plain" sounds for me positive. I'm waiting impatiently for this tower.
I would like to work in Hilton Hotel in Warsaw. I live in Warsaw near this hotel. Please, give me email (contact) to this Hotel. I know that Hilton will be open for two month.

^^ I like it very much, reminds me on Telekom Srpska future headquarters a bit.. simple and elegant :okay:
Czas na Żywiec June 28th, 2006, 11:13 AM God that render looks 1000 times better than what it came out to. The cladding they ended up with is terrible.
Luxis September 9th, 2006, 11:09 PM Any update?
VelesHomais September 25th, 2006, 05:28 AM I think it's pretty nice.

OMG that is horrible. :( That thing lacks any architectural value whatsoever.
Luxis October 14th, 2006, 09:42 PM When this hotel will be opened?
