OMG Guys i will cry from happiness !

Our shopping malls and other places finally recognized and started celebrating one of our own religious/local holidays, RAMADAN !!!, and now they are open up to 1:30 in some malls !

City center has the most photos on flickr, I have found 1 from villaggio (although it deserves more) and nothing from Land Mark, The Pearl or Katara which is outrageous !

CITY CENTER

Land Mark Mall
Unlike Villaggio and City center's diverse decorations, the decorations are mainly curtains and if you notice "tent-like" structures on the second floor...,

Spectacular sound and light show at Katara

http://www.gulf-times.com/mritems/images/2011/8/30/2_455754_1_252.jpg

Katara, the Cultural Village, will embellish the Eid al-Fitr celebrations with spectacular evening shows featuring fireworks, laser lights and dancing fountains for three days from today.
Using the latest technology in pyrotechnics, computer graphics and simulation, the fireworks, laser light and dancing water shows have been choreographed and will be synchronised to music to provide the ultimate, breathtaking viewer experience.
The shows will run daily until Friday, starting at 8pm and lasting for 45 minutes. Entry is free.
“Over the course of Ramadan, Katara erected three tents along the Esplanade to share the spirit of the Holy month with our visitors and were pleased to have had the opportunity to showcase our Qatari and Islamic traditions. Now, as the month comes to a close, we are looking forward to celebrating Eid with our visitors too,” said Malika AlShraim, public relations manager.
“Eid at Katara will be a feast for the senses - the skies above Katara will showcase spectacular fireworks and laser light shows and the Katara Sea will be the stage for dancing water fountains. All shows will be synchronised to carefully selected musical pieces too,” she added.
Situated on the eastern coast of Doha, Katara is an integrated cultural landmark which possesses the character of a historic and inspirational breeding ground for arts and culture in Qatar.
The village is built on 1,000,000sq m, its interconnecting pathways and creatively placed buildings constructed to resemble Al Fareej, an ancient Qatari alley.
Attractions offered by Katara include an open amphitheatre, an opera house, a cinema which can double as a drama theatre, a multi-purpose hall, handicrafts souq, book stall, and beach, in addition to a rich variety of international cuisine.
Several locally based NGOs, including Algannas Society, Childhood Cultural Centre, Qatar Fine Arts Society, Qatar Photographic Society, Qatar Society for Engineers, and Visual Art Centre, currently operate in Katara.
By hosting entertaining and informative festivals, exhibitions, forums and other cultural events, Katara accentuates Doha’s globally recognised position as the capital of Arab culture.
