i went to central ave and noda [twice actually..lol] today which was quite a change from the usual sprawl and other usless development that i take photos of or see daily. also a change from the constant skyscraper shots which i display.

so, getting there on US-74 which was a parking lot all day for some reason. I have no clue but it was just horrible traffic so i got on monroe road after this shot.

Nice shots, and yes very random. Every one knows each other quie well around here. Calling people by their real name and all.

Probably because they've just begun resurfacing on I-277 near where 74 connects to it. I would advise anybody coming to Charlotte to drive a wide path around that mess until they're finished.

Actually, the spelling's correct. "Sugaw" is an Indian word that predates the name "Sugar Creek". If I understand correctly, the older word simply got corrupted so that became an English word. It's kinda neat that certain places have resisted that change after all these years.

Nice job, Style... as usual :) As for the traffic... we all know how much it sucks, but we'll have to live with it, at least for a little longer.

the traffic from that shot at I-85 no longer exists quite as bad there now that they have four lanes going up to I-485 and three going up to Concord Mills Mall exit.

I like the idea of a random city shots thread--who says the name of the site should restrict its usefulness? I pass that Sugaw Creek sign all the time and always wondered...
