boss! good aft ! you only told me not to compare with other cities but now you are asking me itself! anyway it is human mentality ,we cant live without comparing, but we should ensure that there is no controversy.:)
coming to the point , reliance hypermall in trichy will be much larger than salem. they told me
but since kgs ,siraj and morais are lined for multi brand hypermalls, they ( reliance) are now concentrating in proving the exclusive reiance hypermall( first of its kind in tamil nadu) in tiuverumbur . will be completed by sept 2013. details of it , i am displaying in my next post.:):):):)

My driend sivaraja, the information about the Morais mall and Siraj mall has little changes.
Siraj mall has four multiplex screens and built on 1,12,000 sq ft.

And Morais mall is one of the dream projects which is expected to have a lot of multiplex screens.Please provide the extra sources to justify your point.Hope you know that this forum is to make people know facts coming to trichy.i can argue on these only as i am in proper contact with these groups.

1) i asked the reliance hypermart guys. they only told me about the hypermall. if not believing , you go and ask them. i bet you that it will come in another 1.5 years.
2) morais mall and kgs mall will overtake all the other malls in tamilnadu and emerge the largest after kovai.
3) the facts about fsm hyper, reliance hyper,spencers hyper,fsm mall are real facts . you can visi them and verify it.
anyway i will try my level best to make what is cpoming to trichy and what it has daily .

If you want to update daily, new shops needs to be opened regularly, but thats not reality. According to news in tiruverambur,there is no idea of any reliance mall or mart.
Boss please defend yourself with your source or otherwise all your effort will become fake as I know many of your shopping malls information is improper as i have called many people of the group to get the information.

Another point.Whom did you call for getting the Morais mall information?You say that Reliance is building a mall and will be ready in a year.It is difficult to finish a 2,50,000 sqft project in a year as they have not even finalised the space.

Boss.just yesterday I had called the Sebco people and FSM people.They told that they did not plan anything up till now and they have more than 2 acre space free for building it(more than 1,00,000 sqft on land).So even if it is five floors it will be more than 5,00,000 sq ft.They also told they will start it onlt by next year(2013 starting).If wanted I could give you the phone number.

Boss.just yesterday I had called the Sebco people and FSM people.They told that they did not plan anything up till now and they have more than 2 acre space free for building it(more than 1,00,000 sqft on land).So even if it is five floors it will be more than 5,00,000 sq ft.They also told they will start it onlt by next year(2013 starting).If wanted I could give you the phone number.

boss sorry! i am not a fresher ! i am actively reading and viewing all the posts in both skyscpapers and trichy portal for the past 4 years.but entered to post my threads just now( i am redaing all the posts in ssc and trichy portal from the time it started). you are the new entry. you only said that you contacted fsm and they said no work started .your previous thread just reads like this..( thread 537).
why did you use the word fsm there?????????

boss! you too are saying that what details you give is correct. boss area size is not important it may vary. it is nothing wrong in saying 5 floors or b+g+4 floors. every trichy people are going to enjoy when it comes. so dont argue too much. the names are important and of course should be very large in size. thats all. they may suddenly change their plan like what fsm hyper did(from 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 or 1,70,000 sqft). so there is no use in pinpointing too much mistakes from the forum members regarding the area size and flooring plans.

one thing is very important here . they should come ( start construction). at present to my knowledge fsm hyper has cpmpleted 65% work(opening may be in march 2013).
dont know about kgs mall( please can you update when they will start construction or has they started?)
regarding morais mall, siraj mall,reliance mall( all have planned, both morais and siraj have come up with details). let us hope that they begin at the earliest.

It is always better to post the information with reliable source. Because we had got n-number of information by words from people but most of em doesn't turn in reality which is still in air. I myself had experienced in many situations.

Also the list of shops and outlets which you had mentioned here is already available in this thread itself. We can update the new ones and upcoming whenever it is needed.

When i see your postings i can conclude that you are very much interested and keen on shopping and entertainment front (which is only a part of development for any city). Shopping and entertainment alone will not make any city to the top of the list in development. We need to concentrate on industrialization and infrastructure which is prime to focus the city as developed.

all this to be opened in the month of september( in about a month).
source: construction works going on . they have placed huge hoarding inside the mart. very spacious. i asked the manager, he told ,it will be ready in a month.
this is a very great and surprising and delightful work by reliance as their delight outlets are very popular in the north.:):)

2) then i went to vijay food court.

source: i asked the manager of pizza corner. he told ,due to excellent patronage of their outlet at VFC, they are going to open their their 2nd outlet at thillai nagar( 10th or 11th cross) within 2 or 3 months.

i then went to CFC, BIG CHICK, MARY BROWN,CHICK PUNCH, DOMINOS PIZZA TO ENQUIRE ABOUT KFC.
ALL OF THEM ( THEIR RESPECTIVE MANAGERS) said that KFC is VERY,VERY SURE TO COME TO TRICHY WITHIN 3 MONTHS.( PROMISINGLY,AS TRICHY IS VERY MUCH IN THEIR AGENDA OF EXPANSION). but the problem is that KFC is very adament on setting their shop at thillai nagar. but space availability is a problem there.they are not getting a favourable space. IT IS DUE TO HEAVY COMPETITION AMONG THE VARIOUS OUTLETS TO GET THE SPACE.that is the reason for delay for the past 6 months.

so now they are trying other options( either to set up in K.K NAGAR or at RAM MARIS MALL).
IF they find space in thillai nagar(their most wanted), they will come there. otherwise , they will come either in K.K NAGAR or RAM MARIS MALL.( this will happen within 3 months as they are keen to set the shop here before THIS YEAR END).

ALSO DOMINOS PIZZA MANAGER SAID THAT THEY ARE OPENING THEIR 2ND OUTLET AT EITHER SRIRANGAM OR K.K NAGAR IN ABOUT 2 OR 3 MONTHS( CONFIRMING WHAT HE SAID YESTERDAY)

THEN I WENT TO MANGALAM TOWERS SITE MANAGER WHO WAS REVIEWING THE MULTILPEX PROGRESS. HE SAID THE 2 MULTIPLEXES WILL BE READY WITHIN 20 DAYS.:):)

3) THEN I VISITED ALL THE 4 RELIANCE FRESH SHOPS AND OFCOURSE RELIANCE HYPERMART AND RELIANCE TRENDS AND SPOKE CORDIALLY WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE MANAGERS.

PLEASE , PLEASE BELIEVE THIS( THEY SAID RELIANCE DOES NOT LIKE REVEALING TOO MUCH DETAILS IN WEB OR NEWSPAPERS, AS IT IS THEIR SECRET MARKETING STRATEGY, WHEN I ASKED TO DISPLAY THEIR PLANS IN PAPERS OR WEB,NOW ITSELF)

ALL OF THEM SAID ONE THING THAT RELAINCE HYPERMALL ( OF RELIANCE AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OUTLETS LIKE TRENDS, DIGITAL,ETC WITH VERY HUGE RELIANCE FOOD COURT. ) WILL BE READY IN TRICHY( MOST PROBABLY ( 90 % AT TIRUVERUMBUR) AS WHAT THEY SAID IN COMMON).

THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THE ACTUAL MALL SIZE( BUT SAID IT WILL BE 4 TIMES BIGGER THAN PRESENT RELIANCE HYPERMART). THEY SAID IT WILL BE OPENED IN WITHIN 12 TO 18 MONTHS . i asked how it is possible?
they replied that once they start, they will proceed at very high speed, as they said that kovai hypermart( to be opened in 15 days) was finished in record 10 months time.
also added that reliance supermarket( bigger than reliance fresh) may come up either at srirangam or thillai nagar within 5 months.

4) LOUII PHIILIP:

Then i went to thillai nagar. there i met with the manager incharge there.
he told that louii phillip has very good patronage here.
they are very much interested in setting up showrooms in any mall that comes to trichy.
as per their expansion plans, adopted by their head office, they are going to open 2 more showrooms in trichy within a year.

SO TRICHY IS GONNA GOING TO ROCK AMAZINGLY ON ALL GROUNDS! HATS OFF TO TRICHY!!!!!:):)

boss ! i really dont know that whether trichy reliance mall or salem reliance mall is big.
the information i gave regarding reliance mall where official from all the reliance store,mart,fresh,trend managers in trichy.

they told that much only( already given the information).
i asked again and again about salem mall? they got slightly irritated and just said that the difference between the size of the mall and their date of opening is less. so i didnt pressed it more.

boss! anyway both the cities are getting malls from reliance. as for as trichy it is from reliance only(already given details) and the size more than 4 times than the present reliance hypermart(exact size not given). just we can assume to be more than 2,00,000 sqft based on the hypermart size):):)

Corporation has a comprehensive project to construct 3 storeyed centrally air-conditioned shopping complex with 274 shops at an outlay of Rs.768.23 Lakhs. TNUDP has agreed in principle to give 90% financial assistance to this scheme and the remaining 10% shall be met from the Corporation General fund.

Information about the Reliance Trichy mall or mart planned in Tiruvermbur is required.
This would be a last set information given by you.So please try to ask questions to them and confirm whether it is a RELIANCE RETAIL MART OR A GREENFIELD MALL(BOTH ARE FORMS OF THE RELIANCE GROUP LIKE RELIANCE TRENDS OR RELIANCE MART).

then i went to that west-side manafer who was inspection the interior works there. he too said that it will be open by diwali. i asked the exact date. he told me it will be by 3rd week of october.
the interior works are going on in full swing. lot of space guys. it looks awesome. it willl be a huge success because of the area they have chosen.

friends, OMEGA ( HEALTH CARE BPO), DETAILS: REFER THEIR WEBSITE which had its office at spencers hypermart complex, is now opening as a full fledged company in this mega shopping complex.
IT is occupying the 2nd and 3rd floors(approx 20,000 sqft). the space is very large and looks awesome. interior works in full swing. the omega manager in spencers told that it will be operational in the next 3 months.
He said they will be recruiting more people for 2 shifts in the coming days .

Friends, here are some more very good news.
I went to some of the shops and buildings under construction in the evening.
i spoke with the respective managers and here are the details.
ANOTHER BREAKTHROUGH.

i went around the showroom. it has 2 floors of 10,000 sqft each ( total 20,000) they look very very gigantic,spacious and awesome infrasructural design.

then i asked the manager there about when they are going to open.
he replied that it will be inaguarated on 12th september. they are planning to advertise about the shop in a big way from next week.

friends, then i went to another gigantic shopping complex under construction and which is nearing its completion in
PUTHUR, TRICHY( JUST OPPOSITE TO G.H).

This was also one of the shopping complex which many forum members were asking .

it is very huge and gigantic complex with big 4 floors.
there were some interior works going on in full swing in the 1st floor.
i went to that floor and asked the manager incharge( he was from LG).

he said that LG EXCLUSIVE SHOWROOM( ALL LG PRODUCTS UNDER A SINGLE ROOF INCLUDING THAT OF MOBLIES) WLL BE OPENED ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 19TH( VINAYAKAR CHATURDHI).

THEN i went to the complex manager and asked about other showrooms. he said that talks are going on and that more than 10 showrooms of different brands and sectors will be occupying the space in the next 2 months.

very good move by LG to locate their exclusive showroom in puthur.
hope more companies to follow them.

Ten Square Plans its shopping mall in Trichy.Anyone know the news about it?
By seeing the Chennai shopping mall which is 1,50,000 sqft,we can expect a size of 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 sqft.

Update if known is welcomed.
Source has been provided in the previous posts regarding the arrival.
Now I think about plans and construction of shopping malls in different parts of city will surely give a development of area which does not rely on malls alone,but people travel to those areas will increase.Areas like Tiruverambur,K.K.nagar,thillai Nagar,Cantonment,NH210 near airport will develop heavily as many IT Companies start working and IIIT Tamil Nadu being planned at Trichy,it is going to be very big in two or three years and city limit will increase.Also No.1 tolgate will come into the city will be into city.Now JNURMM should also come as the city population increased above 10,00,000.

1.IIM ,Trichy.
2.National Law School
3.Expansion of BHEL
4.Providing good infra and meeting the Small scale industries expectation along TPJ-TJ corridor.
5.IIIT completion.
6.Airport runway Expansion & other terminal facilities.
7.Persuading IT companies to check Trichy.
8.Ring Roads should be completed.

boss! i accept that. i chose ssc because of its excellent standard. i know all. but i think some kind of privacy should be there for trichy people to post their thoughts on their sub-forums like trichy( it is a sub forum of ssc). ie) like how any person from any corner can amke comments, i too must be allowed to write my view freely.

note: in my posts, i am not dragging any city, not degrading any city. in fact ,i am praying to god that all cities must grow. i am much more excited and eager and happy to be passionate for my home city, since i am living here premanaently.

why are some guys being frustrated when i use captions. the caption i use

these are very old pictures my friend,( in jan 2012)
fsm hyper have completed nearly 65% of their work(1,50,000 sqft)

the present status of biulding is very, very gigantic and huge and mind blogging.
can any member from the forum visit the site at present and take photo snaps of the present status, as i am not having a camera.
it will be very useful.

and regarding honda, capital honda( exclusive showroom for honda cars) was opened 5 months before at senthneerpuram , near hindu newspaper office,trichy.

1)today i visited the shopping complex in construction opposite to IBACO icecream. then i saw the site manager there and gathered very very important details.
2) then i went to the place where coffee day is coming and spoke to the manager there
3) then i went to the place where TATA'S westside is coming up in central bus stand to know that when exactly opening date of OMEGA BPO as my friend asked for and spoke freely with the site manager there .

these are the things told by the site manager( asked his approval to furnish the details in the net and he said yes).
i) first BLACKBERRY approached them
ii) then came TITAN ONE to approach
iii) then WOODLANDS SHOE approached
iv) yesterday APPLE EXCLUSIVE approached.
so he said that the M.D of the building will take a final call on who should come up.
very tough competion among these 4 brands . they are bidding for highest rents
ADVANTAGE: BLACKBERRY, APPPLE EXCLUSIVE, WOOD LAND SHOES are all opening their showrooms in next 3 months and confirmes their arrival to trichy. they may come in any area.:cheers::)

2) THE MEGA SHOPPING MALL AT THILLAI NAGAR WHERE COFFEE DAY IS COMING:

then i reached here. i was lucky to meet the coffee day area manager there.he told the following
i) first it was approached by PIZZA CORNER for their 2nd outlet.
DUE TO HIGH RENT, they MOVED to another place.

they are now opening their 2ND outlet at EITHER THILLAI NAGAR 10TH OR 11TH CROSS( details already in my previous posts)

ii) then came SUBWAY and COFFEE DAY to approach them.
IN THE bidding process, COFFEE DAY WON AND THEY ARE OPENING THEIR OUTLET IN 2 MONTHS.
SUBWAY TOLD THEM THAT THEY ARE GOING TO APPROACH ALMOST ALL BUILDINGS AND SHOPPING COMPLEXES UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN TRICHY FOR SETTING UP OUTLET.
advantage: SUBWAY may come at any place at any time.
BUT THEIR PRESENCE IS 100% CONFIRMED.:)

3)THE PLACE WHERE TATA WESTSIDE IS COMING( THE MEGA SHOPPING CUM IT complex opposite to central bus stand):

then i went to the mega shopping complex where TATA WESTSIDE is coming, to enquire about the exact date of opening of OMEGA BPO .
I MET THE MANAGER and site engineer jointly and they were very lind to me to give the following details.
THE TOP 2 FLOORS WERE ALLOTED TO OMEGA AS THEY WON THAT SPACE BY BIDDING AT VERY HIGH PRICE.OPENING IN DECEMBER

THIS IS FOR THE GROUBD FLOOR(12,000 SQFT)

i) initially, their space was approached by SANGEETA'S RESTAURENT for their 2nd outlet

II) then KFC approached them
iii) then INDIAN TERRAIN AND LEE JEANS APPROACHED THEM
IV) THEN PUMA APPROACHED THEM
V) finally TATA WESTSIDE APPROACHED THEM.

THE OWNER then decided to award that space to TATA WESTSIDE as they bidded at very high price compared to others ,.THEY ARE OPENING ON OCTOBER MONTH.

ADVANTAGE:
THE COMING AND PRESENCE OF KFC, INDIAN TERRAIN,PUMA, LEE JEANS ARE 100% CONFIRMED AND THEY MAY OPEN THEIR OUTLET AT ANYTIME AND AT ANY PLACE as they are searching for space in each and every shopping complex.

4) KFC STORY:

friends, KFC is in the NEWS for almost a year. the reason for delay and the soution is
KFC DEMAND:
15,000---20,000 SQFT OF SPACE at medium price

BUILDERS AND SHOPPING COMPLEX OWNERS DEMAND

accept the space given by us or pay at highest rent for the space you are asking.
THIS IS the point where there was deadlock.

Friend is the news about a KFC a mistake like 1,500 sqft to 2,000 sqft as 20,000 sqft in one stretch is about the size of Chennai city center ground floor total with leasable and center open area as it is half acre.

Once i saw that the chairman wants to increase the new outlets from 1,500 sqft to 2,500 sqft in one of the newspapers a year before.

boss ! 1500 to 2000 sqft means very small boss. less than a small house. but they were trying for much much larger space as they wanted only one showroom in trichy with very very large space.

but it is not happening, so they are set to open 2 outlets.
i) one in 2 to 3 months time( location already said in detail)--size will be around 5000-----7000 sqft
ii) another outlet in FSM HYPER food court( 1 among 15 outlets proposed) confirmed.

for the photos, i already have appealed to forum members and appealing again to take photosnaps and upload it.
i am in trichy permanently( but not having either camera or camera phone).

regarding pepe jeans , it is not there at present , but can expect to come at any time and at any place. it applies to all branded outlets and showrooms. such is the potential of trichy in retail sector.

the details i am giving for the past 1 week are all true ,100% confirmed and i am ready to promise at any name and it is all happening.

i am having some personal influence to get the details, and i am using it to get the updates right from the managers and shopping complex owners mouth.

the details of conversation has been clearly disclosed in the previous threads for the past one week.

hi! friends.. i went to the place( the mega shopping mall in thillai nagar where there are louii phillip, united colors of benetton and the cafe day is coming) yesterday , and met the manager of the mall and their supervisor.

they gave me a very pleasent and stunning reply. a real major breakthrough.:)

BREAKING NEWS:

1) PIZZA HUT IS CONFIRMED TO OPEN ITS OUTLET IN TRICHY IN THE NEXT 2 OR 3 MONTHS.

2) THERE is a very, very tough fight going on between
PIZZA HUT, KFC , PIZZA CORNER( 2nd outlet after the one in Vijay food court.) to open their outlet in the remaining space in the mall. :cheers::)

yes, friends, i and my father yesterday visited , the recently opened MARKS ( similar to odyssey) showroom to buy some books.

the showroom is very , very nice friends. it is far better than odyssey in collections and prices. its collections are rocking.

when we were climbing down the steps, i met the manager and supervisor of the mall.
He said that much awaited ' CAFE COFFEE DAY ' outlet is coming in the space left over after the BASICS LIFE SHOWROOM before DIWALI surely.

then he said that there is very, very tough competition going on between KFC, PIZZA HUT , PIZZA CORNER( their 2nd outlet after the one in VFC) to occupy the large space which is left over after MARKS showroom.

the one who is making the highest bid will be awarded the space. but this allocation process will be finished within 10 days as they are making all interior arrangements to open the mall fully by diwali.

STORY BEHIND THIS AND ADVANTAGES:
initially, PIZZA CORNER( 2nd outlet) and KFC where fighting for this space. the manager was about to finalize the space between them , untill PIZZA HUT approached them on saturday saying that they want a space in TRICHY and have to open the outlet here within 3 months as per their company expansion plans.

This made the bidding process more complicated and the manager says that the owner of the mall is confused to whom to give. so solve this problem, the outlet which is bidding at the highest price will win the space for their outlets in this mall.. but this allocation process will be finished within 10 days as they are making all interior arrangements to open the mall fully by diwali.:cheers:

ADVANTAGE:
the biggest winner of this race for retail outlets if of course TRICHY. yes friends, whoever wins the bid will come in this mall.

the ones who did not make the bid will be opening their showrooms in other shopping complexes and malls as there are nearly 30 shopping complexes( all are of 4 or more floors) nearing their completion at different parts of the city.

so THE PRESENCE AND OPENING OF PIZZA HUT IN TRICHY IN THE NEXT 2 OR 3 MONTHS IS 100% CONFIRMED. already KFC HAVE CONFIRMED THEIR OUTLET IN FSM HYPER MALL( in february 2013) and searching for space to open their first outlet which they will be coming in the next 2 or 3 months. pizza corner has their 1st outlet at VFC.

The Ganapathi festival fever is catching up with Trichy. The elephant god now comes in various postures and dazzling colours. "Ganapathi Tharisanam 2012," a spectacular exhibition, was inaugurated by corporation commissioner V P Thandapani on Wednesday and would be on until September 19, the official Vinayagar Chathurthi Day.

Last year, the day was celebrated on September 4, a Sunday, and many people heaved a sigh of relief. But this year, the immersion day comes a little later on September 21, a Friday. If Friday is inauspicious for immersion of the Lord as the Trichy Federation of Vinayagar Chathurthi Festival deems, the grand finale will be held on Saturday. But there is a catch here too. There are purists who hold that the immersion should be strictly held on the third, or the fifth day from the day the Lord is installed at one's home. The federation has put up a demand with the local police to stretch it to Saturday, and to start the festival on the evening of September 18 to make the Saturday, the odd fifth day. Normally, the police give permission for only three days.

More importantly, the delayed festival this year comes as a boon because the water in the Mettur dam will be released only on September 17. It will take at least three days for the stream to reach Mukkombu, the upper dam, some 18 km from Trichy, and it would flow under Trichy's Cauvery bridge just in time for the immersion. So a day's delay would still be advantageous. S Kannan, organizing secretary of the federation, recalled that a decade ago, there came a situation when there was no water flow in the Cauvery in Trichy, and all the Ganesha idols to be immersed were collected at the National College grounds and then taken in giant trucks to available water bodies or even to the nearest seashore.

Meanwhile, the Poompuhar exhibition has specially made Ganesha's statues in papier-mache, clay, marble, soap, granite, gemstones, terracotta, rose and sandalwoods. The price ranges from Rs 50 to Rs three lakh. A special attraction of the exhibition is the Pancha Muga Vinayagar made of bronze, priced at Rs 2,43,001. The exhibition is open from 10 am to 8 pm including Sundays. "By purchasing these Ganesha idols in its various forms, one would help artisans and craftsmen for their hard work," said Thandapani.

yes deepu ! 1) the one at bus stand will take 4 months to complete.

but, tata westside is coming only in the ground floor,so interoir works going on very fast in that part.
opening on 3rd week of october( before diwali).details in my previous posts.:cheers:

2nd and 3rd floors by omega bpo. it will take january for them to come there.details, already in my previous posts.:cheers:

1st floor already occupied by state bank of travancore with atm . opened 2 months ago.

2) the building opposite to gh has 4 floors.
LG exclusive showroom is coming in a part of the first floor on 25th .

for the remaining parts and fllors nearly 15 retail MNC showrooms and outlets have approached them.

since the owner is in mecca at present, he will be returning in the last week of september. then only , the remaining space will be given and all are getting ready to open the complex by diwali.

so we can expect some very vert good news from the complex soon. keeping the fingers crossed.:cheers:

Jewellery retailer Malabar Gold & Diamonds plans to open 35 showrooms across Tamil Nadu by 2015 with supply chain centers at Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Trichy. As part of the expansion plan, the company will invest over Rs 500 crore to open more than 20 retail outlets this year.

The Group plans to open stores in Thanjavur, Dharmapuri, Hosur, and Ramanathapuram. It also plans to add two showrooms in Chennai at Velacheri and Vadapalani in the current year. Besides that, the company plans to open showrooms in Vellore, Kumbakonam, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Trichy, Tuticorin, Tiruvannamalai, and Pondicherry in 2013.

A careful analysis of the State's organised-retail history indicates that even a metropolis like Chennai was relatively new to mall culture until 2010,when the Express Avenue story happened.A strange fact indeed,for a city whose first shopping mall,Spencer Plaza,sprung to life in the mid-80 s,only to remain the lone major shopping mall in the city until 2006 when Citi Centre came to be.However,the scene isn't bad today,with nearly five major shopping malls providing a fillip to the city's mall culture,and two others of mammoth proportions,in the pipeline.It is a similar story that seems to be unfolding in other cities in Tamil Nadu.Coimbatore,Trichy and Madurai - cities that had no inkling of organised retail until a year or two ago,are slowly but surely embracing it.

as per the new policy of arasu cable corporation, there is a room for opening new local channels in major cities.

so , in trichy , there are 5 local channels with news also currently broadcasting.
they are
1) U TV

2) APPLE TV

3) AMN TV

4) SR TV

5) ONE MORE TV( name i will tell tommorrow)

still 2 more have applied for licence, of which 1 may get it, cable operators say.

some good entertainment and news about local happenings for trichy people after a long time.:cheers::)

Just gave a call.Even someone does not believe just call the phone number and ask whether a guy named Sanjay called and ask about the information.
(1)B+G+4 floors.

(2)3 Screen Multiplex

(3)1 acre(43,000 sqft plot)

(4)1,20,000 sqft built up area with 20,000 sqft in each floor.

(5)Other details on what shops coming are not confirmed as even they approached me for multiplex.

(6)Project will start in April or May 2013 and time of completion is 18 months.So if everything goes well,we will get our second state-of-the-art mall(proper mall) after FSM Hyper Mall will be ready for diwali 2014 along with KGS Trichy mall which will also be present.

(7)All details related to shops will be over in two months is what they say.

good evening boss. i am also working in trichy. office timing is from
10am-7pm.
i had 10 days leave due to renovation works at my office.
so i used that oppurtunity to go to all shops to update. nearly i visited 100 shops and construction sites.
but now, since the office has opened, i am back to duty.
so will update whatever information i have daily, but more in the weekends.

regarding siraj mall and kgs malls, they will be starting their construction within diwali(kgs mall) and pongal ( siraj mall) and will be ready by pongal 2014. i have already updated about this in my previous posts 2 days back.

all the information about what is coming in kgs mall is 100% true and confirmed. i asked over it by phone, and mr. stephen said what information is posted by us is true.

regarding siraj, they are friends to FSM . i asked to FSM hyper mall people, and they said lifestyle is confirmed there.

regarding reliance, i will update a detailled information i got from them and many more from FSM hyper( really great news) tonight or tomorrow morning. please wait untill then, as i am going to my relative house at present.

4) FSM HYPERMALL will be opened for public use ON or BEFORE MARCH 2013

on friday , i went to fsm hypermall under construction at thillai nagar.

i went around the site. i was really amazed and stunned to see the huge, gigantic and magnificient mall shaping up well.

i tried to enter the mall inside, but i was stopped by the CHEIF ENGINEER.

i then approached him. FOR THE FIRST TIME, fsm people came out with stunning replies and informations after long days of tiring efforts.

he then took me to an AC ROOM ( HIS OFFICE), and spoke to me for 10 minutes . HEARTY THANKS TO FSM AND ENGINEER SIR for your friendly hospitality.

he then revealed the following informations.

1) KFC , MCDONALDS , NOODLE KING(3rd outlet in trichy) confirmed in the 15 outlets in the foodcourt of the FSM HYPERMALL:cheers:

also, the remaining 12 outlets are going to be filled by many reputed national and international brands as many has approached them. he refused to name them as they are in discussion stages, but confirmed the KFC, MCDONALDS AND NOODLE KING as they have signed the agreement.

the food court with 15 outlets( part of it will be a rotating model) with 25,000 SQFT will be one of the largest ones in south india and will be offering a true international experience in trichy:cheers::)

2) FEMINA hotel group will have 2 restaurents. one is a roof top.
the other will be a rotating type restaurent like the ones in chennai, bagalore.:cheers:

3) 4 Floors OF HYPERMALL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE with stunning 1,20,000 sqft for it( ALL UNDER ONE ROOF). THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE MALL will be the same as posted in their official website( rotating oval type) giving TRICHY a true world class international mall expreience like in chrennai, bangalore.:cheers:

4) the total build up area of the mall will be 1,72,000 SQFT.:cheers:

In couple of years, Sastry Road will get a new look with lots of branded shops... Recently many residancial building giving way for commercial activities..... Once Anna nagar link road getting connected to Sastry road, we will get seamless shopping from Chatram Bus stand to Collector office Karur Bypass, Sastri Rioad, Anna nagar, Contonment ... :cheers:

i met the trichy branch manager who was present there to inspect the ongoing delight food court's progress.

he said that reilance is planning to make trichy as its retail hub in the south india.

HE said that RELIANCE is stunned and amazed at very huge potenial in trichy. :):cheers:

1) RELIANCE DIGITAL is opening in trichy in 2 months time.finalised the place,but refused to tell where as he says it is a secret as many shops are coming in that place.( may be RAM MARIS MALL):cheers:

2) RELIANCE TIME-OUT, RELIANCE FOOTWEAR,,RELIANCE JEWELLERY are coming to trichy within 6 months time. they are decided to open these outlets here and are searching for space. once the space is finalised, they may open at any time.:cheers:

3) RELIANCE CASH and CARRY FORMAT ( similar to wal-mart type) is coming at 2,25,000 sqft at tiruverumbur.

it is the first CASH and CARRY store to come up in SOUTH INDIA

Is Manghalam towers a shopping mall?

A shopping mall should have anchor shops,multiplex,food court and hotel(not necessary).

Manghalam towers has all of it with exception that only one hypermarket as the anchor shops and no extra shops.

No, Rams Maris has decided to give all floors to a single vendor. It clearly states that its not gonna be a shopping mall. We might get hyper marts as Big Bazaar was eyeing this space for their outlet initially but now they have chosen the place in Puthur opp to Deepan hospital. i saw in the morning in this thread that there was a bit of confusion on what is coming in ram maris mall

here is the solution:

I just now went to the ram maris mall. after long time and many visits ( nearly i visited 20 times) , i got a very positive and kind reply from the asst manager, incharge of construction.

he was very kind, this time, though he was cautious .these are his saying

BREAKING NEWS:
1) A RETAIL GIANT much bigger than BIG BAZZAR is coming up in RAM MARIS MALL. :cheers:

2) they rejected BIG BAZZAR, though big bazzar was willing to give rent the double time.so, due to this, BIG BAZZAR now is opening in the commercial huge 4 floor complex(50,000 sqft total) in puthur by diwali. :cheers:

3) they are planning for a very giant retail giant , which is much bigger and popular than BIG BAZZAR. THE condition that they are looking is that the VERY GIANT BRAND should be the FIRST IN TAMIL NADU or atleast SECOND IN TAMILNADU next to CHENNAI. :cheers:

4) IF the above said condition is not met untill next month, then they are PLANNING A SHOPPING MALL MODEL with very, very popular and very giant international and national brands lined up in the 3 floors.
( 1 giant lifestyle brand, 3 food brands, 1 hypermart, 1 digital, 1 footware,etc). :cheers:

Wal Mart is a hypermart something similar to reliance cash & carry format/ Big bazzar, size depending the city/town. Wal Mart is there in amritsar already. So it is not a Shopping mall but a hyper mart.

Bharati Walmart (JV in India) is present in Vijayawada and other places and not in TN. According to the GO passed recently by Indian Govt. regarding FDI, any foreign multi brand retail can come upto 51% stack with tie up in Local retailer (Bharati, Spencer's, Reliance, etc,..). But TN Govt. has not allowed to open such stores here. So we cant expect Bharati Walmart here in TN in any places including Chennai.

Hi don12345, hope u r doing good. Since you are in salem, it is better for you to get the information about the upcoming stores and brand outlets at Reliance mall in salem and post in respective thread. This would help our salem friends to know the current updates.

no theatres in reliance cash and carry format. but very huge food court with many international and national brands will come up. all reliance products and their 13 brand outlets like digital, trends,etc are coming in one roof.

reliance will come up with multiplex theatres in KGS MALL as they have 15% stake in kgs property developers.

reliance is planning to increase its stake to 30% so we can consider kgs mall as RELIANCE-KGS MALL which will be ready by jan 2014.

regarding your other queries, i go by the way what isham sir has said.

today night i went to modern computers in j.k towers at thillai nagar to buy antivirus software.

there i saw new shops being ready for opening and also spoke to modern computers owner.

BREAKING NEWS:

1) ASUS computer exclusive outlet is coming up in a month as said by the manager.( i already said in my previous posts) :cheers:

2) BC( bollywood collections) , an exclusive high -end modern fashion dress showroom for women ----------to be opened next week which is next to DELL exclusive store in that huge shopping complex :cheers:

3) ultra modern pizza palace is going to be open next week-------own pizza outlet by J.K franchise who are owning the marry brown franchise there---------it is next to marry brown store :cheers:

women of trichy are becoming so much ultra modern fashionised and westernised by opening of these type of showrooms. :):)

so j.k shopping complex in thillai nagar is now a great place to shop and enjoy. to summarise, here are the outlets present here

they are coming in 2 places
1) one outlet at FSM HYPERMALL is confirmed ( opening in march 2013) :cheers:
2) the first outlet will be opened at either thillai nagar or RAM MARIS MALL in cantonment in about 2 months. :cheers:

no theatres there sir, but multiplex theatres are coming at following places.
1) mangalam mall-----2 in number---------opening for diwali releases :D

2) fsm hypermall------3 in number( one 4d , other 2 are multiplex type)-------opening in march 2013 :D

3) kgs mall--------------5 in number-------------by reliance adlabs as they are having 15% stake in it-------------opening in pongal 2014 :D

4) siraj mall------------2 in number-------opening in pongal 2014 :D

these are the official confirmed ones.

we may also get many more from very popular groups like inox, satyam in the coming days . :D

This is don12345 of ssc.I have clearly stated about the multiplexes coming in the malls:

1)Manghalam towers- 2 screens

2)Siraj mall-3 screens.
First it had a plan of three or four screens,but confirmed 3 screens.Mall construction starts in April or May 2013 and not Pongal.Maybe you understood it wrong thinking it is during January thinking it is tamil new year.

3)KGS Trichy Mall-6 INOX Screens
It is a very big group and had an idea of 5 screens from BigCinemas. But later they made an agreement with INOX.All confirmed.The mall construction is going to start.Everything will be confirmed before a mall is constructed.(mostly the anchors and multiplex)

4)FSM Hyper Mall-2 Screens.

5)Rams Maris-Multiplex information not confirmed

I have called all of them and made everything clear in my posts.Please don't give out dated info.

i got this info from FSM HYPERMALL as the owners of both fsm and siraj malls are best friends.

TRICHY: A burial urn dating back 3,000 years was unearthed near Lalgudi recently. The urn was on Tuesday officially added to the exquisite collection of the Trichy museum by district collector Jayashree Muralidharan. The district museum was set up in 1982 on the government's principle of providing museums to all districts, and it was the third in the state after Salem and Madurai. In order to provide room to the increasing collections of sculptures, bronzes and fossils, the museum was shifted to the historical Rani Mangammal Durbar Hall in 1998 that had been built by Chokkanatha Nayak in 1666.

In fact, the 41-inches-tall burial urn with a circumference 104 inches at its widest middle with a conic bottom was first spotted on October 30 last year near a present day burial ground on a roadside poromboke land in the nondescript Pallividai, falling under Madakudi village panchayat. Its VAO made arrangements to carefully excavate it without damaging it in any way. Pudukottai curator S Panneer Selvam who is also in charge of Trichy museum told TOI that he brought it to the notice of the commissioner of museums who directed the Trichy district collector take possession of the ancient artefact and restore it to the museum. Panneer Selvam said the urn belonged to "megalithic culture" in which people used to keep the bones of the deceased, weapons he used, and different food grains of the era in the urn and buried them. The conic bottom stands testimony to the fact of it being buried underground. There were 10 types of burials and this practice was prevalent until AD 200, the curator said.

Also on display are some very rare and ancient coins of India. It is a visual delight for people who are interested in coins.

The museum is open on all days except public holidays. The weekly off is on Saturday. The timings of the museum are from 10 am to 5pm. The entry fees are Rs 5 for adults and Rs 3 for children. The fees are Rs 3 for students and for foreigners it is Rs 100.

Trichy has a well-developed transport system and it is well connected to important places in the state. Trichy has an international airport that has flights to all the important cities in India, different territories and neighboring countries. Like Malaysia, Sri Lanka and other countries. This airport is the second best after Chennai airport for connectivity and there are flights to Colombo from this airport. Trichy is a Hub of Southern Railways and it connects Tamil Nadu to other southern states. There are trains to Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, etc. There are many private buses and state travel buses connecting Trichy to various places.
