I see it as embarrassing. Men, Don Jazzy and Dbanj are big maga's. Just watch, anyone can quote me on this....There's not going to be a winner. They ain't gonna pay dem one kobo. They are just using those people to promote their song.

Me too I don't like Dbanj songs. I never really understood why people liked his songs. Apart from Igwe, Suddenly, Tongolo, the one he sang for Genevieve (forgot the name) and Booty call, I haven't really heard any other I thought was good. I mostly like his songs when he's in collaboration with someone else. For example, I liked Booty call because of Wande and Igwe because of Don Jazzy. To me he's similar to Sauce Kidd. I don't like any sauce Kidd’s song unless he's in collaboration with someone else especially if that someone else is Banky.

That's the Owo Faaji dance. The Uti Nwachukwu dude started it after he won BBA dance...The dance is hilarious to me but cute at the same time.

haha they are pretty decent but the real reason why I liked backyard crew (lol @ their name) was because they took the initiative to not only promote d'banj's song but Naija as a whole....

anyway I bet Tbite will release a way better dance

NBC bans D'Banj's Oliver Twist as Mo'Hits soars

The National Broadcasting Commission, has reportedly banned D'banj's new hit single, Oliver Twist, for containing lewd lyrics. Sources say the popular song was especially banned because D'banj eulogises actress, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde's derriere. Part of the song goes, "I like Omotola, (because) her y*ansh is bigger." The NBC was reported to have thus issued a circular to all radio and television stations to stop playing the song.

E-Punch could not immediately reach the NBC as at the time of going to press. Reacting to the ban, Mo'Hits president and producer, Don Jazzy, said in vernacular via a post on twitter, "Please, worry not about the banning of Oliver o, e dey happen. We are kinda used to it now. Ijebu garri no dey do advert but e dey sell."

Days before the ban, the label with star artistes such as D'banj, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid and D'Prince, ironically consolidated on its dominance of the Nigerian entertainment industry with a sold-out show at the Hammersmith Apollo, London. Months after Mo'Hits had entered into a partnership deal with American rapper-producer, Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music, cynics and sceptics were left stunned when West appeared at the label's concert, Monday evening.

West made the 11-hour trip from Los Angeles to London without a change of the clothes he wore to the Video Music Awards the previous day to parley and perform with his new signees. At the event, the typically bejewelled West presented D'banj a large gold chain while confirming that indeed, the Koko master is now an artiste on his label.

DJYdD8jwaAo

Back home, music-loving Nigerians across all ages and races, professions and predilections, continue to send in their entries for a dance competition launched on twitter about two weeks ago by Don Jazzy. So popular has the dance competition named Oliver Twist, a spinoff of the banned single, become that many of the videos posted have found their ways to other international portals. What Don Jazzy and partners did was to do a sample dance pattern and posted on Youtube and then asked people to do theirs and send to a dedicated mail.

"The winning video would be chosen based on entertainment value and creativity," Don Jazzy says, adding that there will be five winners with cash prizes of $2, 500, $2, 000, $1, 500, $1, 000, and $500 respectively.

Since then, the renowned producer confesses, the avalanche of videos received has surpassed his expectation. Indeed, the videos have been hilarious and engaging, with some ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime. A particular group recorded their dance in several locations in Lagos while another one-legged young lady also sent in her dance which the initiator agrees is exceptional. Mothers have not been left out. Neither have professionals and colleagues like eLDee Don's Trybe Records among others. In less than two weeks of release, the single has become one of the most popular in the country and beyond, thanks to this ingenious marketing gimmick.

The Oliver Twist dance competition is coming on the heels of the recently concluded Enigma rap contest which sought to find the best rapper over a beat aptly named Enigma produced by Don Jazzy. Apart from the $2, 000 cash prize won by rapper-producer, Emuwawon Ibukun, the multi millionaire producer has promised to feature the winning version on D'banj's forthcoming album. The first runner up got $500.

Perhaps Nigeria's most popular figure on twitter with over 100, 000 followers, which surpasses even that of superstar singer and Mo'Hits' cash cow, D'banj, Don Jazzy continues to cultivate a growing fandom across the world with his sheer generosity and production successes at home and abroad. He recently earned production credits on a track featuring West and Jay Z, Lift Off, off the duo's collaborative album, Watch The Throne.
