Asaba Getting a Shopping Mall
A shopping mall valued at $100 million (about N15 billion) will soon berth in Asaba, capital of Delta State.New City Mall Limited, the company behind the investment has disclosed.
According to a Director of the company, Mr Vincent Otiono, the mall when completed will have recreational hotel facilities with over 500 car parking space.
The Mall is being sited opposite the Asaba International Airport. “It would serve as the last bus stop for Nigerians and foreigners especially those from South-East and South South regions.”
According to him, the City Mall would also provide employment opportunities for 3,000 persons in different categories and reiterated that the project was to complement the Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration in the area of economic and human capital development.
Chief Austin Izagbo, a director in the company and community leader who also spoke to newsmen expressed hope that the company will take-off in no distant time, adding that it will boost the administration of the State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
He said the administration of the State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan was determined to make the State less dependent on oil and commended the governor for creating the enabling environment for intending investors to invest in the State.
