Ghanaians take A LOT of pride in the high school they went to. It's a big part of our teen years. So I thought this thread was appropriate. Most Ghanaian high schools are boarding with vast campuses and residence halls.

Good thread. I went to "Motown" and it was a very good school then. Don't know about how it is now. Did my sixth form in Accra Aca. Lots of good memories from both schools.

Historically those two schools have produced many heads of states and people in high places in Ghana and Africa. But now I think it is spreading around. Some really good schools like Presec, St Peters and Prempeh College have also produced some of Ghana's and Africa's brightest.

Yes, I knew a couple of people who were so proud of the two schools. :)

How is the education system I Ghana? I only ask because ours is in a sad state, some have even said our government is intentionally keeping the state of our education system in disarray so they can keep power. You see educated people in south africa tend to not vote for the ANC.
Some however think the situation is this bad because the challenges we face are too big to have sorted out in less than 20years (since the end of apartheid) and that overtime we will get things right.
I'm really intrested in finding out if our problems (schools without textbooks eg) are really a result of finances (the lack of) or maybe the cynics are infact correct in that our government in fugging with us! Anywho hope somebody replies.
