studioKAP has a long-standing relationship and an ongoing consultancy input with the Ethiopian architectural practice Abba Architects who are responsible for a competition-winning design for the new regional parliament complex in Bahir Dar on the shores of Lake Tana. We have spent time working together with Abba both in the UK and in Ethiopia, with the primary role of providing an architectural critique through the design development stages of the project.

Amhara region seems to be growing very fast with all the other regions lagging far behind in many ways.

Bahir Dar is really shaping up nicely. You wouldn't expect such cutting edge stuff in the provinces.
