Hi, this is about the doha city center expansion. No pics but i'll find an old one and post it.

Doha's City Center Rotana Hotel will open for business by mid-2006, said the group executive vice-president (finance and development) Nael Hashweh.

The hotel, attached to the City Center shopping complex, will have 400 luxurious rooms and suites. It will also have a large variety of restaurants and venues, a ballroom and several meeting rooms, and a business centre, he said.

A fitness centre with swimming pool will form part of the facilities.

The Rotana Hotels group will have 23 hotels by the end of 2005, he said. Several other properties are planned for opening within the next two years and more projects are in the pipeline, the official said.

Besides Qatar, new properties are currently under development in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt.

any idea of how tall this one is supposed to be? I'd assume somewhere between 140 - 150 m

difficult to say, as there's no number of floors
in the render it looks like 150 or more and i hope it will reach this height

I think if it does reach that height it would be the tallest building in doha. The immediate area around this hotel is being built. I can think of at least 8 highrises on the other side of the road that are being built, and about three other hotels on the other side of the city center which are being built.

cool, so there will be some slight density around
i don't like when tall buildings stand alone
