nice, qatar really changed since i was last there, that was when carrefour just opened in the city center. But, the country changed a lotunder sheikh hamad.

I must say that I like the looks of Qatar. Even more than Dubai actually. I think that Dubai is to "artificial" in one way or the other. Qatar seems to be more true to its heritage.

Thanks alot toronto!! Doha tries its best to keep its heritage alive. Unfortuantly many of the older towns and houses in the capital city have been demolished to make room for new! Its sad, because some countries dig deep to connect its self to its past, while in some area we are destroying it! I will post some pictures, sort of a short study, on this issue!

yeah, even in saudi and bahrain the malls are empty in the daytime. but at night the malls are TOO packed. however, dubai's a lil different - usually packed all day.

Actually people are working during the day and resting in the afternoon, mostly tourists go there during the day time, the busy time for families to go out is after evening prayer, its also too hot to go out in the day time.

As far as am concerned, no Israelis are allowed to enter the GCC and that includes Qatar. I don't think that will change for a long time if they do ever change.

okay...so i turned 18 in Dubai, and ever since i've been telling my parents that i'll get a driving license in Dubai bla bla bla bla.......my sister bought a new car a while back so she kept me her old car............so now that i moved back to Doha after 2 years or so.........i dont have a driving license but in fact i do have a car..........its fine......it happens

PS: my driving test is on the 19th.........i hate how slow they are at al raya driving school......they just do everything so slow that you miss so much time doing it.........goddddd

Guyz: I really want to see the non-Doha sights of Qatar too, how about pics of Wakrah or Al-Kuds or the interior parts ? Qatar is a huge country with land area of around 9000 sq kms, so I expect the countrysides must be peaceful and exotic.

it's called "seef alwakrah". the houses on the right of the pic been removed to make way for the long-waited courniche, the houses on the left, which in old language are called "3marat" are being renovated.
