View Full Version : Download Dubai's traffic cam videos
dazz October 17th, 2004, 11:33 PM http://koti.mbnet.fi/dazzler/uae/traffic_cam.jpg
I have made some traffic videos by combining Dubai Municipality's (http://vgn.dm.gov.ae/webcam/) webcam pictures, I hope that you'll like these :)
Notice that the time isn't steady because sometimes the time between pictures can vary from 30min to longer than 1min, but nevertheless you get general idea about traffic in Dubai.

Dubai-Lover October 18th, 2004, 05:23 PM look closely that hayatt regency video at 18:05 , in the right lower corner, huge amount of people coming there and crossing the road, half of the people don't even cross the road in the right place :)
this is why you hear an iiiiiiiiiiieeeeeech quite often
once a week a pedestrian is hit by a car here and they sometimes are hurled to the middle of the junction :) not joking!
something happens here every day. one night there was a huge crash in al shindagah tunnel. the sirens of police and ambulance didn't stop. i opened the window and looked what happened. many cars had to turn around and drove back the wrong way, because the street was blocked. road was closed by police.
and you won't believe it, but some guys just wanted to drive through the road block!!!!
i enjoyed the show from 1am till 5am ;)
so many crazy guys there

Dubai-Lover October 18th, 2004, 09:45 PM
no these are gardeners
you can see them on quite every green stripe between the roads. i think they renew the grass right here.
in the afternoon you can see hundreds of them sitting in the shadow of the palms
these are the guys working hard to keep dubai green. not an easy job at all!!!
dazz October 18th, 2004, 09:55 PM oh now I can see one standing at one point when watching the video frame by frame, they first looked so small I thought that one guy let his goats eating some grass
Krazy October 22nd, 2004, 01:47 AM Mohammad orders measures to ease traffic congestion
Gulf News
Dubai: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, UAE Minister of Defence and Head of Dubai Police and Security, yesterday ordered the Dubai Traffic Committee to carry out studies to widen Garhoud Bridge and asked the Fourth Interchange Project, linking Dubai International Airport to Emirates Road be implemented.
Shaikh Mohammad also urged the committee to draw up a plan for a flyover on Shaikh Zayed Road to ease traffic congestion.
Shaikh Mohammad was briefed on traffic reports by officials from Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police and the Traffic Committee.
Lt Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, and Qasim Sultan, Director General of Dubai Municipality, also briefed him.
Saeed Al Sharid , head of the committee, briefed Shaikh Mohammad on its plans to carry out expansions on roads that see heavy congestions.
Shaikh Mohammad instructed officials to revitalise the public transport system, which will encourage people to opt for public transport.
He ordered the committee to find solutions to the increasing number of cars on Dubai roads.
Shaikh Mohammad asked the Dubai Police Chief to order traffic police to impose the toughest of measures on reckless drivers, whom he said bring insult to themselves and harm the country's good image.
The meeting was also attended by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Chairman of Dubai Development and Investment Authority, and Maj. Gen. Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Director of Dubai Crown Prince's Court.
