I would actually find this tolerable, if they revised it and made a better effort at ground level. Like a 5 storey podium with well defined retail spaces, and have the tower set back.

I much prefer the old design. I'd like it better though if the tower was setback from the podium.

Are you sure FAD = 170 Spadina? From the rendering it looks like its on the southeast corner where the TD is.

What is wrong with a roof hat? You'd rather have just an ordinary, flat roof? I'd prefer some really creative spires but I'll settle for an unoriginal roof hat. I figure it's better than nothing.
