I think I was up in or near Midtown for this one - can't remember the official hood (http://www.sannet.gov/neighborhoods-map/central.shtml).

Man there's some rare collectors items in there.....some structures seem to practice Vancouverism!

Beautiful, sunny, and pimped....perfect urbanity!

Cool pics, I think the city shoud make 5th Ave. along Gaslamp a pedestrian park-like the one in Santa Monica. Also whats up with the trolley stop by Petco Park/Gaslamp it's so inefficient, needs to be seemless when you get out of the trolley going to the ballpark, this is just my observaton when we went to see the game last Friday, unfortunately , we lost to White Sox that night ;-(.

Yeah a pedestrian park would be an interesting concept. I think it would work on Garnet Avenue in PB too because it is such a thin road.

Very nice pics, downtown SD just has such a different vibe from LA. I know our skyline doesn't compare when viewed from a distance but somehow the buildings and skyline seem more inviting when you are in or really close to downtown San Diego.

Has any one else noticed this?? Maybe it is just me. Our architecture is more human scale and less corporate like downtown LA. Maybe it is because we have a big mix of office, hotel, and residential towers while LA is almost all office towers.

Awesome pictures, I love the new constructions all over East Village and downtown. Some of the new buildings look very alike, but there are not simple boxes and I don't care.

That last picture is Mission Hills, I believe. Glorious neighborhood.

Downtown SD is pretty much unlike any other place in America. It's rare to find a midsized downtown with such people-friendly streets and an atmosphere of fun.
