Junior : 10 - 14 years
Youth : 15 - 18 years
Open : 19 years or above

b) Prizes
Junior
First Prize : HK$3,000
Second Prize : HK$1,500
Third Prize : HK$750

Youth
First Prize : HK$5,000
Second Prize : HK$2,500
Third Prize : HK$1,250

Open
First Prize : HK$7,000
Second Prize : HK$3,500
Third Prize : HK$1,750

c) How to enter
Submit your entry online from November 1 – 30, 2004 . You need to provide your personal details for online submission with a brief statement of no more than 50 words on your thoughts about the photo, where the photo was taken and when it was taken. If you are competing in the Junior and Youth sections, please provide your school details as well.

d) Rules of entry
You must submit ONE DIGITAL photo only, either jpeg or gif format. Maximum file size of 1024 x 786 pixels with no bigger than 300KB. The photo must have been taken within ONE year of the date of entry. Submissions must be your original work and previously unpublished.

IMPORTANT : All entries by an applicant will be disqualified if more than ONE entry for the applicant is received, regardless of who submitted the entry.

e) Announcement of winners
The results will be announced in late January. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone and will be invited to a prize presentation ceremony.

One question, how would they check for the photo's date and that it's "original work and previously unpublished"? There will be tons of entries and it'd be a major pain to check each and everyone.

The contest has a restriction for Hong Kong residents only, which may mean a mere ID card and doesn't necessarily dictate that you have to be in Hong Kong now (ie. overseas student).

for skyline shots, i am sure there are skyscraper fans like us who can tell exact when was the pic taken.

oh god, how i wish i can join....right now i'm in overseas so don't think i can make it. But i wish the other hk contestants good luck & may the best pic wins!!

Oh but I have to plan how to take the photos in HK first that suits the rules to send the photo to the competition. I don't think I can make it...I don't have any photos that suits this topic taken before...and i'll come back HK next year...

But hope the contestors have fun!

I don't have any photos from the past year, though. The most recent were taken during SARS in late April 2003.
