When was the Eiffel Tower replica at Filiatra was built? Is it just a monument or has it a practical use, e.g. as radio tower?

Fournarakis) originating from Filiatra, as told ANA-MPA the municipal director responsible of the cultural department,Theodora Leventouri. The Eiffel Tower in Filiatra, was rebuilt by the municipality in 2007 and represents a point of reference for the city, the residents and tourist groups who visit the area. In addition, this rather odd artist didn't limit himself building the Aiffel Tower, but built at the same time...the fairy tale castle, located in Agrilis Filiatra, a few miles outside the city and one of the most popular destinations for any traveler. The image of the castle seems to have "sprang" from another era,an era in which all of us,more or less, have mentally travelled: castles living fairies and elves. The castle, with the huge horse on the side, which as another Trojan horse,in the inside had a library- the huge impressive figures of Athena and Poseidon, along with the heroes of the Revolution of 1821 - was made "to remind us all,the sweet tales told us by our grandmother." The property was transferred to the Cultural Association "Torch" in 1984. http://www.spitoskylo.gr/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/castle.jpg |
