ONE of Bahrain's leading business groups is to invest BD19 million in the construction of a twin tower at Amwaj Island.

Al Damur Investment Real Estate Company has appointed Syrconsult Consultant Engineers to present the concept designs.

Al Damur Group chairman Abdul Hussain Dawani signed the agreement with Syrconsult Bahrain chief executive officer Mohamed Al Tawil.

Each tower will cost BD9.5 million, with a total area of 2,890 square metres, said Mr Dawani.

"Our company is aiming to secure huge investment in Amwaj Island because of heavy demand for apartments there," he told the GDN.

"We are proud to be involved in Bahrain's real estate development process.

"The Kingdom is now in the stage of great development, where foreign investment is needed in all areas of activities, mainly in real estate business."

The luxurious residential towers, the Al Damur Towers, will be 90 metres high, said Mr Al Tawil.

"The 23-storey towers will be the first to be built facing the charming lagoon of the island."

"Each tower will house 80 apartments of four different types and sizes. It will also have a lobby hall, reception area, two guest elevators, one service lift, and three-level car parking.

"Other features include a swimming pool, a fully equipped health club, multi system satellite channels, and hi-tech safety control and security systems."

Syrconsult, which is specialised in designing high rise buildings, has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

"We create places, which provide lasting value for clients through distinctive imaginative solutions," said Mr Al Tawil

"Bahrain's growth is demanding an increasingly robust design approach, which would attract foreign investors to the country."

yup good news. Amwaj Islands seems to be heading in the right path, which is good, as other projects can follow. I'll try and find more about this.

The king faisal highway will be amazing in a few years and am sure there will be more projects there. Amwaj needs its share hehe atleast high rises on the sea should be nice, airport view hehe.

well amwaj is just of muharraq so i suppose they thought about the airport and noise and i think there must be special type of sound-proof windows to be used. But, proximity to the airport is an advantage also at the same time, plus with the new causeway linking hidd to mina salman, getting there is even easier.

dubai has the same problems
palm jebel ali will be in the landing zone of jebel ali airport
palm deira in the landing zone of international airport

sounds not so great for the residents and hotels

but i can tell you, we have a short-term apartment in a high-rise in dubai. it is in the take-off and landing zone, so aircrafts pass this building 200m away and you just hear a slight brrrrmmmm
it sometimes looks like aircrafts hit the building as the fly by soooo close, but you get immediately used to it, but when some very old aircrafts fly by,.... it's gonna be quite loud
