Gujarat tourism should brace for a boom all thanks to a Disneyland style theme park. Gujarat Tourism has cleared Disney World and other leading theme park operators plan to open Disneyland style park in Gujarat.

The details are sketchy but it is believed that apart from Disney World, Wonderland Canada, Sentosa Singapore and Genting Malaysia are in talks to set up theme park in Gujarat. This theme park could very well be bigger than Disneyland of Paris, Tokyo and California.

Gujarat tourism ministry has given green signal to the project. Suvali Beach, spread in 13 square km is the site for the proposed theme park. The site is located only 20km from the Surat. The planned project will have 5 theme parks, restaurants, hotels, beach villas and much more.

There is no information about when the project will begin and end. There is still one hurdle that theme park will have to clear which is clearance from the Environment Ministry. Since the park will be on a beach there could be some serious objections from the the ministry.

If the planned theme park goes ahead it would be a huge boom for tourism in Gujarat. The state could easily grab more foreign tourists than any other Indian State. Tourists from Asia could flood the theme park and it would generate billions in tourism revenue. The theme park will also give Gujarat a great chance to promote other destinations in the state. According to me if the theme park is developed successfully than Gujarat could earn half the foreign tourist arrivals in India.

Mumbai-based Atlanta Infrastructure Development and Real Estate has received in principle approval from Gujarat government to set up a $ 2 billion theme park in Gujarat at Suvali beach, which has 3.3 km stretch along the Arabian Sea coast, 20 km from Surat.

The project will be spread across 13 square kilo-meters, and it will have five theme parks like nature park, amusement park, water park, beach park, ice skating and skiing dome, restaurants, hotels, studios, forest villas, beach villas, studio lagoon and apartments and villas among others.
