Transit-oriented-development in Chicago

Last time I was in Chicago, I drived (sorry, guys) by Western Ave in the NW side and its intersection with the blue line in Lincoln Square. I noticed several new 2-3 flats and buildings going up with ground-level retail. I was impressed with the TOD.

Another good example of new TOD is the area of the CTA and Jefferson Tower/Place along the green line.

I, as you guys know, am a hard-core urbanist. For those of you living in Chicago, are there any other areas (outside of downtown) where a lot of transit-oriented development is occurring?

The El line up in Lincoln Square is the Brown Line. :)

There have been several 2,3 and 4-flats with ground level retail popping up on Lincoln just south of Lincoln Square, particularly between Montrose and Irving Park. Not super-close to El lines but there is a bus route on Lincoln.

The building on the SE corner of the Irving Park stop on the Brown Line was recently torn down. Not sure what is going in there but hopefully it will be some residential with ground level retail. The same cannot be said of the SE corner of the Addison stop on the Brown Line. A condo building was built there a couple years ago with NO ground level retail. :down:
