Everyone by now probably knows about the plans in Brooklyn in Williamsburg and Greenpoint to develop the current industrial, mixed use areas into residential, park areas. This area is forecast to become the next "Tribeca." What does everyone think about this development? Any comments, concerns, or opinions? I happen to live right in the heart of the area, on Kent Avenue, so it will impact me directly. I think the area is gonna be hot hot hot (hotter than it is now) in 5 years or so...

not bad, but I don't think that Tribeca is a good example to follow.
But it will be great for Brooklyn, it will give it an even more friendly image

Keep Greenpoint (at least interior Greenpoint) the way it is now. That's all I'm asking for.

I like Greenpoint the way it is now (I got some Polish in me ;) ) But who knows, maybe new plans could do some good. I too think most of that area will be hot in a few years, look out for skyscrapers ;)
