There is an old V shaped building with a saw tooth roof on the corner of Commercial Rd, Florence St and Chermside St, it used to have Sol Breads in it.
Currently undergoing a major refurb with a new cafe being fitted to the corner and a the rest being fitted out for what looks like office space.
Love this building, I have a brilliant view of it from my apartment.

Under construction in New Farm:

The Bowen Quarter
This one has been happening for a little while with a heritage Queenslander temporarily shifted so basement excavations, foundations and basement walls can take place, with these works now well underway.

Excavation is substantially underway and crane is up on an 8-storey residential development under construction on corner of Bowen Terrace and Harcourt Street in New Farm.

Haven't been able to find a rendering online however did see one on a billboard before construction started (advertising 4-bedroom apartments!) - has since been removed from site. It looked a bit different to the elevation below (development is the building to the far left), so I think it's had some design refinements since original approval - wait and see I guess:

Correct. This will be brilliant - no more than 50 meters from my house :). Will give Palace Centro some healthy competition, and there is certainly demand for another boutique cinema in the area.

They're finally rebuilding it??? Like actually doing work on it??? HURRAH!!!

Considering just how many setbacks the developers had (like having to demolish half of the building, which added millions to the price tag), the fact that the development is being completed at all is incredible. I believe the intention is that the new rear cinema will have retained elements of the demolished blue cinema installed in it. I'll be interested to see how well it is pulled off.

From the work they've been doing the scheme looks a lot simpler than the proposed redevelopment in these images. Mostly internal works and a general tidy up to the exterior. No additional building elements (i.e. at the back of the building) have occurred as part of the works.
