View Full Version : Political test
MysticMcGoo October 15th, 2011, 12:10 AM Here's a cool test I found in the 1001 nights cafe.
What are YOUR results?
I was neither here nor there. Some of the questions are pretty open-ended, but it's still interesting.

http://www.politicaltest.net/<----------Take the test!
monkeyronin October 15th, 2011, 01:59 AM Many of the questions were quite difficult to follow. I'm guessing it was translated from another language.
But anyway, here are my results:

simms3 October 15th, 2011, 02:35 AM Horrible test. Examples:
- Physical punishment or forced labor are legitimate and appropriate means to discourage crime.
I am horribly against capital punishment and physical punishment, but I am for waterboarding known and captured terrorists and I am for forced labor on prisoners who are in good physical condition. We've all had to do community service before, sometimes involving labor, most of us because we care.
- Immigrants are always an enrichment for the hosting country.
Loaded question! My grandparents came as legal immigrants in the 1940s/50s. They learned English in Europe and came and became productive high earners, thereby paying high taxes. I love legal immigration and believe we should really open our borders, especially to let the growing Chinese traveling population here. I am against illegal immigration and it is known pretty well, especially in this economy, how negatively it has impacted America.
- The globalization is desirable, as long as all the nations can profit from it.
OMG. I am all for globalization and I want every country to benefit, but sometimes countries and corresponding national corporations make bad decisions or end up with a lesser deal. It happens. Not everyone is going to benefit all the time, and it is no country's or corporation's inherent right to benefit from global trade. I had to vote "disagree" as if I were disagreeing with globalization as a whole.
- Man is entitled to improve their quality of life by performing animal experiments.
What is this supposed to mean? Does it mean extensive and cruel animal tests? Does it mean caged rats where a sensor hat to study the brain and new medical innovations for Alzheimer's? My God, I don't want any cruelty to happen, but there are good and productive animal tests that don't involve torture, cruelty, or slaughter.
- It would be good for the public authorities to pay their debts no longer.
Someone please explain what this means.
- The state should concentrate on the core areas safety and justice.
This is worded improperly. A "disagree" response could be a response to the government having a hand in safety and justice, or it could mean that the responder disagrees with limiting the government to just those things. Adding a "just" word in there would make it slightly better.
- Income, which hasn't been earned through own work, should be subjected to higher taxation.
What does this mean? Capital gains? Dividends? People who don't physically make things but rather earn a living by abstract means? Horribly written.
- The government should interfere with the market development as seldom as possible.
This question proves that the author is not professional. Most of the statements are active in that "X should not ...". This statement does not sync up grammatically. It is also not a false test statement as it is still a negative.
- The infrastructure works best, if the responsibility lies with competing undertakings
Author must be trying to sound intelligent. He could have just said "Infrastructure should be privatized."
- Drugs of all kind should be completely legal.
Well, yes...IF those of us who pay taxes do not have to pay for the treatment of poor addicts or methheads who suffer explosions in the cooking process. If you decide to abuse stimulants to help with work, and then you develop a nasty habit and turn ill... PAY FOR IT YOURSELF. Also, make driving on substances a FELONY. If there are protections for non-users and taxpayers built in, my God go FUCK YOURSELF UP AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. I still had to vote "disagree" because nothing to this sort accompanied the question, and legalizing drugs without these protections does nothing to improve anything.
- Natural resources belong to the population and must not be privatized.
- The resources have to be managed by society.
Same statement written two different ways. Technically the way to put out a survey like this is to use uniformity. One is a negative statement, and the second one is a positive statement. If this were the only "test" in the whole survey, it could slide, but this was a common theme. No uniformity. I.E. The survey is FAR from scientific.
- Every citizen should be entitled to humane accommodation.
What does this mean? Providing luxury accomodations for the homeless? Building more projects? What is humane?
Despite all this:

Yeah, you're 2 percentage points more Commie pinko than me. The last metric was the only somewhat different result. I imagine we answered slightly differently on the use of animals for medical purposes or food.
Filip October 19th, 2011, 07:04 PM Looking back over this test, my result couldn't be more accurate.
Looking over everyone else's results: I can't say I'm surprised.
