The Ghanaian military is one of the most professional and up-to-date militaries in West Africa. Ghana's modern military was formed after independence in 1957. The Ghanaian military is primarily composed of the Army, which forms the pre-eminent service, more important that the Air force or navy. I guess Naija's perception of the Ghana Military has been conceived by the handful of images presented on this forum. I am inclined to believe that judging from his reasoning that he will only be convinced of Ghana's Military might when classified information which maintains national security and defense, including the revelation of the full might of the force through detailed images of all the arms of the military are posted here.

The Ghanian armed forces have a good reputation. Ghana's UN peacekeepers are very well regarded for their professionalism.

What I would like to ask is - what is serviceability of equipment like ?

I have heard that in the Air Force only 2 of the light attack/trainer jets are operational - of the K-8s, MB326Ks and L-39s.

What is the true picture ?

I agree. what we need is a very small but extremely professional and modern army with the latest modern equipment able to handle conflict situations in west africa and elsewhere.

i dont really see the need for a large army wasting billions doing pretty much nothing.

I love that picture of the Fokker F28 operated by the government of Ghana. I think that they still use that aircraft.

How is Ghana's military performance? has they ever fought a war and are battle tested or they are just there for a show? some of their gears look nice but i doubt if they have ever used any of them .... enlighten me some ..
