Here's a render of the winning design by Fitpatrick & Partners from the ground up :)

I love the podium, it has some serious potential for LED lighting to creep up the 'cracks' and could be an interesting addition to Sydney's annual light exhibit, Vivid Sydney

Due to Sydney's extremely complicated planning system, this has just gone in as a 'Stage 2 Proposal' with the State Government's Department of Planning.

Was there a design change or something? I think there was a previous design/proposal for this side. That proposal had an open lobby almost as high as the white building on the left, am I right? What happend to it?

Unfortunately, yes there has been a design and height change.

This was the previous concept:

However the site was acquired for the construction of a new CBD substation and as such the soaring atrium was scrapped and the building has been redesigned at a reduced height.
