Sinjin P. February 5th, 2007, 01:17 PM ^ Are there escalators in Gaisano Main? When I last went there, puro staircases lang ang nakikita ko at tama ka, nakakadizzy ang interiors because everything is like a gallery.
Edit: There are some escalators pala

jameslab8470 February 5th, 2007, 01:47 PM In Butuan, sabi sa thesis, the oldest building sa Butuan is the PNP station tapat ng Rizal Park... I'll try to post some pics... It was a City Hall at first, then became a library, then museum, bago pa naging PNP Station... Still, they preserved the kahoy structure nya sa second floor. It was built after the World War II. Wala na daw old buildings as old as the Spanish times kasi daw ang Butuan, palipat lipat ang location dahil sa yearly baha... So they did not build structures permanently, until the Americans came...
Oldest Mall, Gaisano Butuan! 2002.
Oldest Department Store, Otis Barrio (coorect me if im wrong, fellow butuanons)
(one of the) Oldest Philippine flag in Butuan, pagmamay-ari ng lola ni lola ko. Last time i saw it, nung June 12, 1996. After that, d ko na alam san na itinago.
Oldest bridge, Magsaysay bridge. 1950's. wala na iba. hehe... kasi ung second bridge, d pa tapos. ahehehe
Ano pa ba?.... hmm

LhexiMont February 21st, 2007, 05:06 PM Please enumerate your favorite buildings in the Philippines and if it will be placed in a single location ( a city , district , long boulevards ) and why ?
Its because we have lots of magnificent buildings , but most of them are scattered in various cities and districts . Wouldn't it'll be nice if we see those great buildings clustered together in a great location .

KiBeN February 22nd, 2007, 11:39 AM gusto ko, yung old, historical monuments, churches, houses, buildings, art deco or whatever sa isang part sa manila, hahaha just like Vigan.

Agree with this! Roxas Boulevard and the CCP reclaimed areas are excellent locations! Along Manila Bay! But I want the boulevard still lined up with indigenous palm trees and foliage. Ces't magnifique!

kunoL8 February 22nd, 2007, 11:39 PM the philippines' best modern buildings and skyscrapers at the CCP complex, historical buildings inside intramuros and that area where the manila city hall and national museums are and i'd want stately mansions to line roxas boulevard again.
haha! i know they're all in different locations but they're in a single city! well, except for the CCP complex but that's close enough. :D

LhexiMont February 22nd, 2007, 11:54 PM I also wish to see the following buildings lining up Roxas Boulevard , however baywalk must be expanded a bit similar in expanse as that of the Esplanade of SM MoA for consistency and hopefully maintain that coastal stretch as clean as possible from debris and garbage that also contributes to that stench that sometimes emanates from the sea.
Also better landscaping and lighting at night in that expanded area as pocket parks in key areas are ideal and provide more palm trees and foliage for more beautification .
The center-island of Roxas Blvd . should be transformed similar to that of the Commerce Avenue stretch of Filinvest Alabang wherein the sidewalks and center-island are interlaced with those royal palm trees which should be beautifully illuminated at nights.
The buildings lining up there are :
Robinson-Equitable Bank tower
Grand Shang
GT Tower
PB Com Tower
St. Francis Towers
Pacific Plaza towers
Joya Lofts
GA Towers
Greenbelt's Residence towers
LKG Tower
One Roxas Triangle ( including the supposed no.2 tower )
EGI Tower ( built here instead )
Jaka Tower ( built here instead )
One Corporate Center
Lopez Tower ( built here instead )
RCBC Plaza towers
JG Summit
Export Bank Plaza
the tall rounded building in Rockwell
Enterprise Towers

LhexiMont February 23rd, 2007, 07:56 AM If Cebu pala ilalagay ang magagandang buildings in MM with the mountains as the backdrop parang Hongkong .
Either Manila Bay area or Cebu , puede ..iba kasi yung sa tabing dagat basically coz of the presence of ship ports ..there is really something special to the city by the bay as its very popular cityscape everywhere n the world .
Inner cities are good, but it pales in comparison to the city by the sea or bay.

For the existing and completed ones , definitely Filinvest Corporate City because it is conceptualized and executed very well , well zoned , topnotch infrastructures, accessibility and still has many available lots viable for huge and monumental corporate centers/complex as location .

OtAkAw February 25th, 2007, 08:52 AM ^^ the river must be cleaned first.... then perhaps it could be made something like the seine or the danube....
Yes, Pasig must be cleaned first. Imagine hordes of architectural wonders placed near the banks of the river and then you have Calatrava bridges and high-tech looking ferries, sweet!

flymordecai March 2nd, 2007, 02:49 AM 1. Manila Bay: it would be a similar skyline to Sydney or Singapore.
2. Cebu: that picture with the Makati skyline pasted onto the Cebu skyline looks like Incheon, Busan, or maybe even Hong Kong.
Now that I think about, we need a skyline to develop in North Luzon, specifically near the beach. That would definitely have a Busan feel to it. But right now, that's about 100 years away. :D

athan March 16th, 2007, 11:15 PM ^ i agree with this and this:
I'd rather it be in front of a white sand beach, like Rio....
A tropical paradise like the Philippines should have at least 1 beach skyline. A strip of high-rise buildings lining a mile long white sand beach to rival those of Cancun, Rio de Janeiro, Waikiki, etc. I'd love to see tall apartment buildings and more resort hotels rise along Boracay, Mactan and possibly El Nido Bay. Something that would look like this:

athan March 17th, 2007, 05:35 PM ^ but the beaches there in La Union are black sand right? It would just look like Roxas Blvd in Manila.
i think it would be really nice to have tall buildings along a beach but hopefully not in bora or in el nido. pero i like the idea of developing it in mactan.
Yea and cos Mactan already has the talls of Shangri-La and Hilton Hotel. They would just have to add more. My only concern though is that Mactan might be too small and the coast might be narrow to come up with a full beach skyline.
Btw, now that i look at it again, that pic of Rio de Janeiro actually does look like El Nido without the buildings and roads. Those mountains and rocks are similar to the mountains and limestones we have in El Nido.

I agree. Its best not to spoil the natural beauty and tranquility of El Nido. Mactan would be an ok loaction, but not Palawan and its surroundings.

bastizurc May 8th, 2007, 11:52 AM I'd say Puerto Princesa. Pwede tayo magstart dun ng sarili nating brand ng architecture. :) say isang totally green urban center na may nakaincorporate na "Sky parks" similar to what the developers of Century City is doing right now. ang cool non kung office buildings with areas na may mga puno okaya may mga garden na kasama sa exterior niya. kung may mga pagodas ang bangkok at iba pang southeast asian cities, gawa tayo ng something unique para maging unique din ang philippines in a way or another.

can someone make a picture with this concept?:D
