Smartboy October 25th, 2004, 08:18 AM Where is the best place or street to shopping in New York? Like Biggest electronics and Cd/DVD stores? Where are they placed? The Cheapest place?
New York's stores open at the weekend?
I've heard that the biggest CD store is in NY. Is it true?
Where is the biggest cinema in NY?
Where are the best place to visit in NY?
NY has high speed train to go to another cities?
Thanks :)
3tmk October 25th, 2004, 03:09 PM best place to shop cheap? Canal street ;) But you never know the quality of the goods though.
On weekends everything is open, but with limited hours, except for B&H, they're closed on saturdays, it's a jewish store, but the best for photographers and everything electronic.
Biggest CD store? I have no idea but it might be the Virgin megastore in Times Square :dunno:
Biggest Cinema? No idea again, but I believe it might be in Times Square if it's a question of number of screens at the AMC25, otherwise for the biggest screen and room, I don't know
Best place to visit NY? well that's a hard question to answer
High speed train? There's the Aleva or something like that running from Boston to Washington DC
Ellatur October 25th, 2004, 10:19 PM i dunno about biggest screen, but i personally think that AMC 25 is the best
for shopping, Greenwich Village is good, and 5th Ave is good for big spenders
i dunno about the high speed trains, and the stores open during the weekends
Vlad the Great October 26th, 2004, 12:58 AM Wasn't there a high-speed train planned from Smalbany to NYC?
And what the hell happened to it?
Smartboy December 17th, 2004, 11:17 PM Why 5th Avenue is so especial? What are there?

The TurboLiner trains (3 of them) were meant to run between Albany and NYC. They are on hold due to a lawsuit between the state of NY and Amtrak.
The real high speed train runs from Boston through NYC to Washington D.C.. It is the Acela and it is a step above Amtrak's metroliner service, I recommend it.
3tmk December 18th, 2004, 01:39 AM 5th Avenue is nohting special, honestly the avenue is not much to look at, potholes, ugly tourists, old jewish ladies, etc.
However it's what's on 5th ave that's interesting:
Empire State Building
Rockefeller Center
Plaza Hotel
Trump Tower
NYPL
and that's just a few!
Yankee BOY December 18th, 2004, 02:05 AM Does anyone know the homepage of the Rensselaer Rail Station in Albany where it shows schedules going to and fro NYC and prices? I was just wondering because this summer im going to Albany and im interesting in taking that train to NYC .
Yankee BOY December 18th, 2004, 07:27 PM anyone have any idea?
Vlad the Great December 18th, 2004, 07:47 PM There is no hi-speed between NYC and Albany. It was planned, never happened.
There is still normal service between the two.
Try typing in CDTA (Capital District Transportation Authority) in a search engine and see what you get.
STLSportsFan4 December 23rd, 2004, 11:35 PM If there was a "hi-speed" train, how long would it take to get from say NYC to Boston? And is there any train that goes from NYC to Boston because I'm going to NY this summer and I want to go to Boston to a Red Sox game and I'm deciding how to get there if I should drive or what.
Thanks
