CULWULLA October 24th, 2004, 07:11 AM guys there has been a crane rise great news!!! anyone know whens the next core rise?
hey give itsome time!lol
it only went up recently.patience my boy!
it normally has a core rise every 18 dasy or so. so next rise would make it early Nov?
-----------
just on compariosn to Q1's construction.
Q1 is now lev71/213m or 38m lower then Es core.
both towers are now virtually same floor heights of 190m and glass is clad to level50 in both towers!
Q1 has really caught up!

lozza October 25th, 2004, 04:45 AM Yeah , its disgusting to think that Q1 has nearly caught up to Eureka !
It just further prooves my point that reform in the construction industry is "desperately" needed in Victoria
Cheers

dynamoultraclean October 25th, 2004, 05:36 AM It's also funny that the core of Eureka has surpassed the max level of the core of Q1.

Doesn't matter if Q1 is surpassing Eureka. Eureka much complex, especially upper part when the whole floor plans starts to angle a bit.

How does that explain Riparian Plaza in Brisbane?
lozza October 25th, 2004, 07:41 AM Yeah , and technically , Q1 won't surpass Eureka anyway, unless u count its stupid spire ! hehe !

Exactly, and was is the comparative floor plate size (including the two setback wings on E) and core size of them thus far? I think Eureka is larger in that respect too which is another reason Q1 has caught up so much. But anyway, it will never surpass Eureka in any way that really counts ;)

Hardie October 25th, 2004, 09:26 AM In my opinion, it doesn't really matter whether technically Eureka will be taller that Q1 or not. Eureka is a brilliant building on it's own. I want to come to Melbourne so I can see the completed Eureka, I want to look at it, stare at it, take a thousand photo's of it. Whether it's the tallest or not doesn't matter to me, it's beautiful and brilliant in it's own right!!!!!!!!!!!!
FAVELLE October 25th, 2004, 09:47 AM How does that explain Riparian Plaza in Brisbane?
You build Eureka right beside the river, build 11 levels of above ground carparking,25 levels of office space,a recreation floor with approx 8 meter heights and 11 levels of intricately shaped resi floors and you see how long it would take to build your attempt at the worlds highest resi.

Eureka is right next to the river, its called the Yarra, heard of it. And it does have an intricate podium with both apartments and car parks I beleive. It is also build on what was once swamp land, another obstacle for the builders to overcome. So in other words, we have build Eureka with many of the problems you associate with Riparian

Mate you are talking through your arse. Its not that hard to change floor shape and just pour more grey shit, the complexities involved in constructing Mighty Qs fin and spire far outweigh most of Eurekas construction. :)

Have a good look how close riparian is to the river and compare it to Eureka, you obviously dont know much about water and buildings.
sakor1 October 25th, 2004, 10:14 AM Favelle, please do not turn this into a debate/ arguement. Not what I would really want to see in this thread...

Not my intention, but i am allowed to voice my opinions,if you or anyone else cant handle them.tough. :)
zion October 25th, 2004, 10:27 AM sakor1: Agree. Its kind of childish. Nor would I want to drawn into a debate. As I said: I don't really care (or matter) if Q1 surpasses Eureka. I really do believe it takes a bit more effort when upper floors of Eureka is changing at every level, with angles to consider.

Fucks sake its getting like this Eureka thread is just for Victorians to wank themselves over, fine you keep it if you cant handle an outsiders opinion. :tiasd:
sakor1 October 25th, 2004, 11:10 AM That is fine! You are allowed to voice your opinions and everyone here I am sure are happy for non-victorians to have a visit and have their say (just as I'm sure we're welcome in any other thread).... just comments like
"Mate you are talking through your arse"
"you obviously dont know much about water and buildings."
"this Eureka thread is just for Victorians to wank themselves over"
Some people get a bit worked up over. I was just saying that everyone should cool it before it does turn into another bash fest like before (where half the damn thread was deleted).
Cheers,
Stu
tayser October 25th, 2004, 01:00 PM Leave the Eureka, Q1, Union and overall bitching to here.
If you've got absolutely nothing constructive to add to the Eureka project, and that doesn't include yet more Q1 comparisons, then I suggest you don't post in the Eureka thread.
Wezza October 25th, 2004, 01:16 PM It's also funny that the core of Eureka has surpassed the max level of the core of Q1.
Yeah thats funny hey.............Ur easily amused mate!
On another note, i would have thought as Eureka got higher, it would start 2 rise a bit quicker due to the fact that the building steps down.
Blend October 25th, 2004, 01:32 PM so this thread is MEANT for arguements and bitching?
in that case..
Q1's spire does not count.
I am a QLDer
a South East QLDer
So Q1 is basically my 'home' building out of the 2.
But it is not possible to say its taller lol.
Thats like saying bank west is taller than world tower!
Favco750 October 25th, 2004, 03:44 PM Favelle got his own thread, I never got one when I was on the rant!!!!!!
tayser October 25th, 2004, 03:50 PM I'm sorry Favco, would you like one too?
Favco750 October 25th, 2004, 03:53 PM Nah, I'm a bit over it to tell you the truth.

Blend October 26th, 2004, 03:45 PM u know.
For someone to say Q1 is taller than Eureka, theyd also have to be admitting that Riparian is taller than Soul.
Can you dig it sucka?

I've finally remembered why i became a member on this great site, just to see pics of construction (mainly just the cranes)around Australia.I really dont care to much about the structures,to me its just my job, although its very easy to get caught up in the discussions and silly fucken statements made by some (myself included) on the forums,to anyone who i might have offended i sincerely appologise.I think i need a holiday hmmm maybe Melbo.... :runaway:
Osborne October 29th, 2004, 03:16 PM Everyone knows the figures. Everyone debates the definitions of actual height. Until both are built, there will be no way of knowing which one has the most impact, or which one is truly the most impressive.
It puts me off this whole site. It's like all these nerds measuring the lengths of their dicks. Fucking get over it, and talk about something else. They're both amazing.
