I saw some ads in the Star, GTA section, re changes to zoning applications. One was for a 30= and 16 or so story building on The Esplanade - any ideas what this is?
There was another twin tower project, 30+ floors, at Yonge and Finch.
Anyone have any idea what the hell I'm talking about? I sure as hell don't.

I think that might be for a new project called - wait for it - The London! (Apparently there are no NY referents left anymore). There's an ad for it in either Condo Living or Condo Life that I saw online, but no rendering and no info other than it'll be a highrise with lofts.

Yonge & Finch, I have no idea, but whatever it is I'm sure it'll be wonderfully NYCC hideous.

Aren't we used to dumb marketing names for condo projects by now?

The marketing name is about as unimportant an issue as you can get...they can call it..."Big Boogers from my Nose" if they like.

I think it's about time that parking lot got developed....the Esplande just totally falls apart in that block east of Yonge. I like the 5 floor podium with the set back towers...keeps the scale of the street. With the tower that will be built at the back of the Hummingbird, this will make for a better transition from Financial District to St Lawrence much better on the Esplanade.

That big parking lot a block east at 75 Esplanade (foot of Church) has also been sold, but the parking lease doesn't expire until 2008, so I doubt we will see a development there for a while...this will complete the sad state of the Esplanade in the first couple of blocks east of Yonge.

i love the graphic design happening here. Hate the name. The trend of copying other cities is nothing but retarded... (how many soho's are there? tribeca?). Condo marketing is even worse.... how do these merketing people live with their pointless lives, I have no idea.

Always good to have another condo though... let's hope it's decent. As KGB pointed out, excellent location.

Toronto doesn't own the title for silly, derivative or pretentious condo project names...that's fairly universal...it just happens to own the title for amount of condos...so naturally there are just so many more of them....we are only guilty by quantity.

Well, that's what the registration app is for on the link. he he

And wow...over 600 parking spaces...not only do we get rid of a parking lot...we gain more public parking than was there in the first place...and inddor too....that's great for patrons of the theatre and Hummingbird.

They wouldn't sell units before getting aproval, right? (Or, sure they would, but they'd return the money if the project does not go.)

Well, if it is the Meridian, then it is the best of the Tridel lot in NYCC. However, the zoning application in question is for 2 towers.

Check out some Tridel NYCC buties here: http://www.tridel.ca/northyork.php You will be amazed! Floored! Stunned! And think: these are the marketing renderings!
