Ceres
Macquarie Street, Hobart, Tasmania

Commercial Development
Managed
 7 floors
Status – in planning

Ceres is located at 152 Macquarie Street between Harrington and Murray Streets. Looking south there are excellent views over St Davids Park, Salamanca and out to the river and eastern shore. To the sunny north are full views of North Hobart and the mountain. The building is currently fully tenanted. Redevelopment is planned. The concept includes four additional levels of penthouse living, new elevators, a roof-top swimming pool, a new façade, upgraded commercial areas, bathrooms and foyers.

^^ Good find Pearcey.

Looks like that building has already been renovated but no sign of anything like the penthouses being done - perhaps they have scaled that back a bit for the time being. Hope its happens though. :)

I thought the content of this Mercury article looked familiar...

A LUXURY two-bedroom pod will be lifted by crane to the top of a Hobart office building where it will be used as an exclusive tourist retreat.

Award-winning tourism operator and property developer Brett Torossi is the project mastermind.

The new development, named Avalon City Retreat, is a prefabricated building that will be lifted on to the top of 152 Macquarie St, early next year.

^^ Good find Chuq. Wont make much change to the Hobart skyline heightwise but it will make it a little more interesting.

Expect Macquarie Street to be closed one Sunday for the lift!

There was a Council Notice in the Mercury for crane works outside this building in the city on Sunday morning. Did not get a chance to see if the lift went ahead or not.

Well spotted pearcey! It looks good. I would not mind staying there but at nearly $900 a night is a little rich for my blood....
