An ittention agreement has been signed between AB Invest (Buchardt) and Røyken municipality for a development of appartment tower with 66 units on an industrial filling in Slemmestad designated to become a leisure area at the edge of Oslos suburbs just 500m from the Akershus county border. The building consists of 24 floors, the two lowest floors will be parking space and earth will be filled around to make them underground. 2 floors above parking will be some sort of public activity for the municipality to decide. Next door is a cement plant with several large silos of simular height as the proposed tower. The slim side will be facing to fjord to allow residents on the hills behind to keep most of their view. Preliminary project has been made by Snøhetta architects.

Now this might revolutionize highrise residential development in Norway. Library and cafè on the grand floor and spa and swimmingpool on the top floor. This is really more than i hoped for! :banana:

The council already approved the economic basics regarding the sale of the lot, so at the moment it looks very much like it will be approved, key players in Røyken politics have been negotiating with AB Invest for years already. But one should never underestimate the nimbys - a facebook group has been created against the project already...

Sorry to play retard, but shouldn't this be in the Oslo-section?! It's part of the conurbation!

The render for this project looks really poor. Again, I don't get why a developer don't see the value in a good illustration and design, which obviously would sell in a lot more to the public and politicians.

And to the locals and their Facebook group. Do they really have nothing else to use their energy on? Is it really that dead over there?

Sure, but you have to get up in the terrain since Nesodden and the islands blocks the view from central Oslo... Binoculars would also be a good idea, since it would be tiny from such distance...
