Hey I'm in High School now and I want to persue a career in urban transportation. Are there any universities/colleges in the GTA that offer degrees that would help me in this endevour. By GTA I mean Hamilton to Toronto. Thanks for any help.

My school, University of Waterloo, has an architecture school at Cambridge, Ontario. Its currently in the Faculty of Environmental Studies, but they are speaking of switching to Engineering. Which makes NO SENSE to me. To me, architecture is all about general design, not detailed structures...

I can't speak for other institutions, but UofT has an urban studies program, as well as a large geography department that covers everything from economic to environmental geography. You can do anything from a minor to a specialist program. Though if you want a career, you'd likely have to do at least a major + grad school later on. That's assuming you want a career in the urban planning aspect of transportation. If you're talking about transport design (ie the technical aspects) you may want to look into engineering - civl, mechanical, computer, materials, and aerospace come to mind.

I've heard very good things about the planning program at the University of Waterloo. The University of Toronto is an excellent school overall, but I don't know about their planning program. It's under the geography department.
