This is where Marina complex is.
RafflesCity October 30th, 2004, 07:59 AM I was WAITING for you to post seaviews.
I like to see all the ships in the harbour, many people and writers have commented on that inspiring scene.

eyetoeye October 30th, 2004, 09:54 AM Oh how Singapore has changed.
*E2E experiences pangs of patriotism*
heirloom October 31st, 2004, 11:53 AM its funny to see a period where the supreme court dome was one of the tallest structures around. when was that?
RafflesCity October 31st, 2004, 01:20 PM like the 50s
eyetoeye November 1st, 2004, 01:38 AM Imagine if the supreme court were a living thing. I bet it would be feeling either very proud now of singapore's achievements or extremely pissed off at being dwarfed....
PJCCUK November 1st, 2004, 02:07 AM Would love to go back to that time (just for a day though :D ) and simply walk around.
Although if I ever took charge of this island, most of that area around St. Andrew's would be knocked down and returned to shop houses! :speech:
Just imagine when the next generation look back at such photos and they'll have grown up with the whole new marina downtown development.
RafflesCity November 1st, 2004, 05:56 AM Got to agree on those lowrises around St Andrews..I mean couldnt they have done better?! They demolished a very nice classical hotel to make way for the Adelphi :bash:

The bug corner building at the left, I heard was Singapore's first apartment!
RafflesCity November 1st, 2004, 09:30 AM Got a name for that apartment?
redstone November 1st, 2004, 09:50 AM I think in Meyer Chambers or Meyer Building.
One is an office, the other is an apartment.
huaiwei November 7th, 2004, 06:25 PM Seriously if only we can take a photo from the exact same location....wonder how different the whole scene is going to be!
I have been really considering doing that for some of the old photos we can find...if the location is accessible that is. Anyone interested? :D
RafflesCity November 7th, 2004, 06:28 PM thats a very gd idea!

Cliff March 21st, 2005, 11:44 AM What do you think are the chances of it being open to the public once the building becomes an art gallery?
