View Full Version : Redevelopment Of Cambodiana Hotel
BetterForAll January 2nd, 2012, 04:55 AM http://www.amarapuragroup.com/index.php/projects/the_cambodiana_hotel_redevelopment
The project cost $93 million. Amarapura slated that "The site is the location of the present Cambodiana Hotel at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. As such this is one of the great locations for a grand hotel in South East Asia. The 3.5ha site is absolute riverfront and is in the prime cultural and civic centre of Phnom Penh." Amarapura doesn't give much more detail about this projects on its website.

khmerpride January 2nd, 2012, 01:34 PM wow looking so great and modern o.O
MYPHNOMPENH January 2nd, 2012, 03:57 PM Wow it's look much better.
kvaaa January 2nd, 2012, 04:33 PM I don't think it will happen. If my memory is still good, there had been an upgrade of $70 million to this property already.
LostInTheSimCity January 2nd, 2012, 05:18 PM From what i know, Royal group already proposed this project few years back, but it was rejected because of the tower stands close to royal palace.
I think it will come up again since prime minister already announced that phnom penh need to look forward, not to much preservation. He gave green light to any project to be built along riverfront area.
Hopefully, royal group will use this prime location to build something amazing.
kmr123 January 3rd, 2012, 09:51 AM ^^ the current location can not build over 10 floors because it's near to the Royal Palace
SeeMacau January 3rd, 2012, 04:03 PM This was an old proposal, my thinking is the government will approve this project, just like GT42, which is very close to the independent monument.

Why, building next to the water is the right thing to do.
After Vattanac is complete, you probably won't even notice OCIC building.
