குலவணிகர்புரம் ரயில்வே கேட் திறப்பு மாற்றுப்பாதை அமைக்கும் பணி தீவிரம்

திருநெல்வேலி:பாளை., குலவணிகர்புரம் ரயில்வே கேட்டில் மேம்பாலம் அமைக்கும் இடத்தில் மாற்றுப்பாதை ஏற்படுத்தும் வரை பணிகளை தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்திவைக்க கலெக்டர் செல்வராஜ் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளதால் அந்த வழியாக போக்குவரத்து துவங்கப்பட்டது.பாளை., குலவணிகர்புரத்தில் ரூ.26 கோடி செலவில் ரயில்வே மேம்பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணி கடந்த ஒய் வடிவ பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணி கடந்த 26ம் தேதி துவங்கியது. இதனால் பாளை., குலவணிகர்புரம் ரயில்வே கேட் மூடப்பட்டது.

இதற்காக தூத்துக்குடி, திருச்செந்தூர் செல்லும் பஸ்கள் மற்றும் வாகனங்கள் புதிய பஸ்ஸ்டாண்டற்கு மாற்றுப்பாதையில் திருப்பிவிடப்பட்டன. ஆனால் பாளை., குலவணிகர்புரம் ரயில்வே கேட் மூடப்பட்டதால் அந்தப்பகுதியிலுள்ள மக்கள் நடந்து செல்வதற்கும், டூ வீலர்களில் செல்வதற்கும் மிகவும் சிரமப்பட்டனர். ரயில்வே கேட்டிற்கு கீழே நுழைந்து சென்றனர். மாற்றுப்பாதை அமைக்க வலியுறுத்தி குலவணிகர்புரம், வீரமாணிக்கபுரம், இலந்தைகுளம், மேலப்பாளையம், பெருமாள்புரம் பகுதி பொதுமக்கள் மாற்றுப்பாதை அமைக்க வலியுறத்தி கலெக்டர் மற்றும் மாநகராட்சி மேயர், அதிகாரிகளிடம் மனுக் கொடுத்தனர்.

இதையடுத்து கலெக்டர் செல்வராஜ், மேயர் விஜிலா மற்றும் போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள், நெடுஞ்சாலைத்துறை அதிகாரிகள், வட்டார போக்குவரத்து அதிகாரிகள் நேரடியாக ஆய்வு நடத்தினர். கலெக்டர் செல்வராஜ் உத்தரவின் பேரில் மாற்றுப்பாதை அமைக்கும் வரை குலவணிகர்புரம் ரயில்வே கேட்டில் பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணியை தற்காலிகமாக நிறுத்தவும், ரயில்வே கேட்டை திறந்துவிடவும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டது.நேற்று முதல் குலவணிகர்புரம் ரயில்வே கேட் பாதை போக்குவரத்து மற்றும் பொதுமக்களின் பயன்பாட்டிற்காக திறந்துவிடப்பட்டது.
மாற்றுப்பாதை அமைக்கும் பணிகளில் அதிகாரிகள் தீவிரமாக ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர்.

Road-users who were facing a tough time after the Kulavanigarpuram manned level crossing was abruptly closed for construction of a rail over bridge, without a service road being provided, has been opened again, thanks to the swift action taken by Mayor Vijila Sathyananth.

Even before the construction materials arrived and ground breaking work for the pillars of the proposed rail over bridge commenced, the manned level crossing on the Tirunelveli – Nagercoil National Highways was closed and no step was taken to provide a service road to ensure the free flow of traffic – a procedure normally done whenever a busy thoroughfare is closed for maintenance or for carrying out new construction activities.

The narrow battered roads identified as ‘alternative routes' for traffic diversion too irritated the road-users.

When complaints started pouring in from road users, Ms. Vijila inspected the battered alternative roads through which the vehicular traffic had been diverted following the closure of the rail level crossing at Kulavanigarpuram.

Witnessing the problems being faced by the road-users , Ms. Vijila immediately contacted the officials concerned, including Collector R. Selvaraj and made arrangements for re-opening the closed level crossing.

“Though this is only a makeshift arrangement, vehicular traffic via Kulavanigarpuram level crossing will be allowed until a service road is provided for vehicular traffic,” the Mayor said.

திருநெல்வேலி : பாளை. முருகன்குறிச்சியில் நாளை(21ம்தேதி) முதல் வாகனப்போக்குவரத்து மாற்றியமைக்கப்படுகிறது.
பாளை. முருகன்குறிச்சி ஜங்ஷன் பகுதியில் ரோடு குறுகலாக உள்ளது. நாளுக்கு நாள் வாகனங்கள் அதிகரிப்பதால் முருகன்குறிச்சி பகுதியில் போக்குவரத்து நெருக்கடி அதிகமாக உள்ளது.

இதையடுத்து பள்ளிக்குழந்தைகள், பொதுமக்கள் நலன் கருதி முருகன்குறிச்சி ஜங்ஷனை கடந்து செல்லும் வாகனங்களின் போக்குவரத்தை நாளை முதல் மாற்றி அமைக்க போலீஸ் கமிஷனர் கருணாசாகர் உத்தரவிட்டார்.
இதன்படி வண்ணார்பேட்டை செல்லப்பாண்டியன் சிலையில் இருந்து முருகன்குறிச்சி வழியே பாளை. செல்லும் வாகனங்கள், முருகன்குறிச்சி ஜங்ஷனில் வலதுபுறம் திரும்பிச்செல்லும் வாகனங்கள் இனிமேல் திருச்செந்தூர் ரோடு வழியே நேராக சென்று செஞ்சிலுவை சங்கம், லங்கர்கானா தெரு சந்திப்பில் வலதுபுறம் திரும்பி லங்கர்கானா தெரு வழியே அழகுமுத்துக்கோன் சிலை அருகில் வலதுபுறம் திரும்பி நூற்றாண்டு மண்டபம் வழியே காளிமார்க் சந்திப்பில் இடதுபுறம் திரும்பி மீண்டும் திருவனந்தபுரம் ரோடு வழியே பாளை. பஸ்ஸ்டாண்ட் செல்ல வேண்டும்.

“Kanyakumari-Thiruvananthapuram electric train service to begin soon”

The electric train service between Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram will begin from next month, said the Divisional Railway Manager (Thiruvananthapuram), Rajesh Agarwal.

The service will be executed on a 100 km stretch, he told presspersons in Kanyakumari on Saturday. A sum of Rs. 100 crore has been allotted for the electrification works and the trial run between Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari was successfully operated recently. The electrification work was supposed to be completed by the end of March but it would be completed prior to the schedule fixed, he added.

Safety work

Now the safety works on the Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram line was going on and once it was completed the operation of electric trains would commence from the next month. The date of which would be announced later.

It has also been decided to increase the speed of the train operating on the Nagercoil-Tirunelveli line i.e 100 km per hour. The modernization of the railway line has already been completed and a trail run was accomplished successfully.

Development works

A sum of Rs. 1 crore has been spent to modernize Kanyakumari railway station by implementing various development and welfare activities for the benefit of passengers.

Development works to the tune of Rs. 60 lakh was also going on at the Nagercoil railway station. Moreover, all the level crossings between Nagercoil -Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil-Tirunelveli line would be modernized at the earliest at an estimated cost of Rs. 1 crore, said the DRM.

MORE STOPS FOR TRAINS

Conceding to the request of Parliamentary standing committee chairman on railways T.R. Baalu, the Union railway ministry on Tuesday announced the stoppage of several trains departing from Chennai.

According to a statement from Mr Baalu, railway department has decided to stop the Chennai Egmore-Tiruchendur Express (train No. 16735/16736) at Tiruppadirippuliyur, Egmore-Rameshwaram Express (train No. 16701/16702) at Cuddalore, Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur Express (16127/ 16128) at Pennadam, Mayiladuthurai-Mysore Express (16231/16232) at Papanasam and Chennai Egmore-Mannargudi Express (16179/ 16180) at Villupuram from February 10.

Bhubaneswar-Rameswaram Express (train No. 18496/18495) will stop at Tiruppadirippuliyur from February 11, while Vasco-da-gam-Velankanni Express (train No: 17315/ 17316) will stop at Thiruvarur from February 14.

Similarly, Bilaspur-Tirunelveli Express (12787/ 12788) will stop at Coimbatore from March 11, while Mumbai CST-Thiruvananthampuram Express (train No: 16331/16332), Chennai Central-Alapuzha Express (train No. 16041/16042), Chennai Central-Mangalore Express (train No: 12685/12686) and Mangalore-Puducherry Express (train no: 16043/16044) will stop at Coimbatore from July 1.

Southern Rly to test new tracks

Southern Railway is planning to run engines and test new tracks in four sections by March, and complete gauge conversion on 63km of tracks in the Chengelpet-Villupuram section next year. The work is expected to help the railways operate more services in Tamil Nadu.

Doubling works on the Chengalpattu-Ottivakkam (9km), Melmaruvathur-Madurantakam (11km) and Perani-Vikravandi (7km) sections are ready. The Vikravandi-Mundiyambakkam section (6km) will be ready by February. With this, 40km of the 103km of Chengalpattu-Villupuram section will be doubled by March 2012 and the remaining 63km will be completed in 2012-13, said Southern Railway general manager Deepak Krishan at the Republic Day celebrations held at the zonal headquarters in the city.

The routes where engine rolling will be done in the coming months are Palani-Pollachi (62km) and Pollachi-Muthalamada (26km) for running trains between Palani and Pollachi; Tiruchuli-Manamadurai (32km) section of the Virudhunagar-Manamadurai gauge conversion route (64km) for direct train services between Virudhunagar and Manamadurai; and the Chengannur-Mavelikara (12km) double line section to be commissioned shortly in Kerala.

He said Southern Railway has commissioned new lines between Nidamangalam and Mannargudi (14km) and Nagore and Karaikal (11km). It will also double the Villupuram-Mundiyambakkam (a 6km stretch in the Chengalpattu-Villupuram gauge conversion project) section and the Kayankulam-Cheppad-Haripad (13km) stretch in the 2011-12 financial year.

The commissioner of railway safety is expected to inspect new lines, including Namakkal-Karur, Salem-Namakkal and Walajah Road-Ranipet, the gauge-converted sections of Tirunelveli-Tenkasi, Dindigul-Palani and Mayiladuthurai-Tiruvarur. Engine rolling has already been completed in these sections, he added.

Various safety measures at stations, such as CCTV, sniffer dogs and additional security have been under taken. Gauge conversion work in Virudhunagar-Manamadurai is progressing in full swing and will be opened to traffic shortly. Work on the Dindigul-Palani section has been completed and planned for inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety. Work is also fast progressing on Palani - Pollachi section as well as in Sengottai-Punalur and Madurai-Bodinayakkanur sections. Tirunelveli-Tenkasi section is likely to be opened by March 2012. Madurai division introduced electrical traction for all north bound trains from Dindigul. Overhead equipment works are in progress between Dindigul- Madurai double line which will be completed shortly.

City records a dip in road accidents

Swift operation of 108 ambulance services helped in lowering the numbers

Madurai city ranked at the bottom when compared to Coimbatore and Tiruchi on the number of fatal road accidents reported during 2011, city traffic police officers said here on Sunday.

According to the latest data available, the number of fatal accidents reported in Madurai City limits was 125 in 2011, Coimbatore City it was 254 and Tiruchi City had a total of 155 fatal accidents. The number of fatal accidents in Tirunelveli city was 103, while in Chennai (which includes suburban also) it stood at 1504 during the last year.

Police officers said that for all practical purposes, among the above five cities, Tirunelveli city was geographically smaller, when compared to Tiruchi, Madurai and Coimbatore and Chennai was again on the other extreme – too big.

While the fatal accident rates have already started falling in Tirunelveli, with the police insisting on motorists to wear helmets, the Tiruchi police too have made it mandatory to wear helmets from February 1, the road accidents (serious) are likely to fall in these cities. As far as Madurai city is concerned, police said that the number of fatal accidents had marginally dipped when compared to 2010.

Though the reasons were many, the police attributed it to swift movement of the 108 ambulance services in reaching the accident victims and taking them to the hospital . If the police enforced the rule on wearing helmets, they admitted that the fatal accidents would certainly fall further from the present figures . The accident prone areas in Madurai city are - Thiruparankundram Road, By-Pass Road, Alagarkoil Road and among others. However, the fatal accidents on the rural side (Madurai district police) were pretty alarming, they added.

Decision soon on routing skipping trains via Coimbatore (http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/article2855664.ece)

All decks seem to have been cleared for routing seven trains skipping Coimbatore Junction and a formal decision is expected soon.

Divisional Railway authorities will soon convene a meeting of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) to finalise routing of the skipping trains via Coimbatore with effect from July 1, when the new railway time table comes into effect.

Protest

The Coimbatore Railway Struggle Committee had been waging a relentless battle.

A delegation led by Coimbatore MP P.R. Natarajan had gone to New Delhi and met Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, the Railway Board Chairman and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways T.R. Baalu and also met Southern Railway General Manager Deepak Krishan in Chennai and Divisional Railway Manager – Salem Sujatha Jayaraj.

Inadequate

When Coimbatore was suffering because of inadequate rail connectivity with many of the destinations, it was unfortunate that 13 pairs of trains were skipping Coimbatore and were being operated on the Irugur – Podanur – Irugur section, said R. Raveendran of the committee.

Some of the trains did not even stop in Coimbatore, Mr. Raveendran said.

Many of the skipping trains ran with vacant berths while passengers in Coimbatore continued to remain waitlisted and were forced to travel by bus, said the Struggle Committee Convener G.K. Nagaraj.

The railway administration seems to have cleared the proposal for routing seven trains besides one train already announced (see graphics for the list of trains).

A formal announcement is expected once the DRUCC clears the proposal.

Railway Struggle Committee office-bearers said that the trains once routed via Coimbatore would provide the following connectivity - one weekly and one daily overnight connectivity to Bangalore, one daily overnight train to Coimbatore from Chennai, one overnight train to Tirunelveli, one weekly train towards Mumbai, for the first time a train service from Coimbatore to Puducherry, besides additional berths/seats in trains towards Mangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and Tiruchirapalli

இதனால் செங்கோட்டை அடுத்த தென்காசி ரயில்வே ஜங்ஷன் தொடர் ரயில் போக்குவரத்தில் இருப்பதால் ரயில்வே கேட்கள் மணிக்கு மணி அடைக்கப்படுகின்றன.

இதனால் நகருக்குள் வந்து செல்லும் பேருந்துகள் அத்யாவசிய சரக்கு வாகனங்கள் பொது மக்களின் போக்குவரத்து கூட தடைபட்டன.

இதனைக் கருத்தில் கொண்ட ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் 32 கோடி மதிப்பீட்டில் மேம்பாலம் கட்டுவதற்கு திட்டமிட்டு கடந்த 2 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு பணி தொடங்கியது. பணிக்கு அவசியமாக ரயில்வேகேட் மூடப்படடததால் மாற்றுப் பாதை பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது

பாலம் பணிகள் நடைபெற்றுக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நேரத்தில் வாகனங்கள் செல்வதற்கு வசதியாக சுரங்கப் பாதை அமைக்கும் பணியும் தொடர்ந்து மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது

கட்டுமானப் பணிகள் எப்போது முடிந்து, விடிவு பிறக்கும் அதோடு தென்காசி திருநெல்வேலி அகல ரயில பாதைப்பணி முடிவுபெற்று விரைவில் போக்குவரத்து தொடங்கப்படும் நிலையில் பாதிப்பு இன்னும் கடுமையாகும், என்கிற பொதுமக்கள் தற்காலிக ரயில்வே கேட்“ அமைத்து சமாளிக்கவேண்டுகின்றனர்.

பாலத்தின் கட்டுமானப்பணிக்கான டெண்டர் இன்னும் இறுதி செய்யப்படாத நிலை தொடர்கிறது என்கின்றனர் ரயில்வே வட்டார அதிகாரிகள். வருவாயா மேம்பாலமே. ஏக்கத்திலிருக்கிறார்கள் தென்காசி வாசிகள்.

Even after the busy South Bypass Road and Tirunelveli-Nagercoil National Highway Junction near NGO Colony intersection is witnessing accidents almost everyday including fatal ones, no step has been taken to provide a speed-breaker at the end of South Bypass Road, people here complain.

Since road users entering the city from the south have to look for speeding vehicles from South Bypass Road and vehicles taking right turn from Tirunelveli-Nagercoil National Highway to South Bypass Road, they have to compulsorily slow down since they would otherwise certainly meet with an accident.

High speed

However, vehicles including trucks and cars, coming from South Bypass Road to take Tirunelveli-Nagercoil National Highway enter this dangerous zone at a very high speed due to absence of a bump.

When a couple, along with their seven-year-old son, was going recently in a two-wheeler from NGO Colony to Vaeinthaankulam new bus-stand, another speeding two-wheeler from South Bypass Road hit them killing the lady on the spot while the husband and the boy have been admitted to hospital.

The presence of a speed breaker at the southern end of South Bypass Road would have averted this accident and saved the life of the woman.

“Perhaps, this spot is the most dangerous junction in the entire Tirunelveli City. On an average, this point witnesses a minimum of five to six accidents a day and subsequent altercations between owners of vehicles involved in the accident. All we can do during the accidents is that we, having our shops in the vicinity, can inform the police about the accidents and the state of the profusely bleeding victims. Unfortunately, no action has been taken so far by the officials concerned,” said a trader having a shop close to this accident prone zone.

After patiently listening to this issue, a senior-level engineer of State Highways said: “We'll conduct a survey at this point to ascertain whether there is a need for providing a speed breaker and come to a conclusion”.

‘Increase train services from Karaikal'

The Karaikal District Citizens' Welfare Association (KDCA) has put forward a set of demands, with respect to operation of new rail services, for consideration, in the forthcoming railway budget.

The association has called for introduction of train services, besides augmentation of passenger services currently under operation. Significant is the demand for extension of the Thanjavur to Nagore passenger (76812) up to Karaikal.

Also, a new broad gauge line from Karaikal to Kumbakonam via Karaikovilpathu –Thirunallar–Ambagarathur

– Peralam–

Srikandapuram–Thirunageswaram has been sought.

Budget

Of the other demands, the association has appealed to the Southern Railway to press for the introduction of following trains in the forthcoming budget:

Karaikal to Kanyakumari (fast passenger) via Nagore-Thanjavur-Tiruchi-Madurai- Tirunelveli; Karaikal to Kollam (fast passenger) via Nagore- Thanjavur-Tiruchi-Karaikkudi- Manamadurai-Virudhunagar-Tenkasi-Sengottai; Karaikal to Rameshwaram (passenger) via Thanjavur-Tiruchi-Pudukkottai-Karaikkudi; Karaikal to Tiruchendur (fast passenger) via Thanjavur-Tiruchi-Dindigul-Madurai; Karaikal to Ajmer/Jaipur (Express) via Nagore - Tiruchi-Dindugul-Palani-Pollachi-Palakkad -Kozhikode-Mangalore Central-Madgaon-Ratnagiri -Mumbai; Karaikal to Mysore (Express) via Erode - Salem - Dharmapuri – Hosur – Bangalore; Karaikal to Tirupati (fast passenger) via Nagore – Tiruvarur – Mayiladuthurai–Villupuram–Chengalpattu–Kanchipuram–Tirutani; Karaikal to Bangalore (fast passenger) via Mayiladuthurai–

As there are no direct bus services to the aforementioned destinations, but for Coimbatore, the possibilities of honouring these demands need be considered, the association has said. According to V.R.Dhanaseelanae, president, KDCA, since the section is often seen as the ‘golden pocket' even by Southern Railway, if was fitting to have these services commissioned.

Other demands

Among other demands is the call for conversion of Karaikal station to a Central station on grounds that the rail line from the private port here fetches the Tiruchi Division 40 per cent of its revenue.

According to Mr.Dhanaseelane, the projected freight earnings of the division was Rs.581 crore for 2011-12, and fraction of the earnings could be used for infusing facilities into the station here.

‘Nalan Kulam'

Of the demands, there is also a call to tweak the train timings such that the incoming trains may arrive here between 5 am to 7 am.

According to the demand, the timings would facilitate holy dip in ‘Nalan Kulam' and facilitate pilgrim visit to the Tirunallar Saneeswarar temple in the morning. The association has also thanked the Southern Railway for bringing to fruition the more than two-decade-old demand for rail link here and the consequent inaugural of the railway station.

The Karaikal District Citizens' Association has proposed to send a memorandum to the Union Minister for Railways Dinesh Trivedi, Mr.Dhanaseelanae said.

Fifth traffic police station opened

: The Deputy Inspector General of Police (Tirunelveli Range), Varadaraju, inaugurated the fifth traffic police station at Thuckalay in Kanyakumari district on Monday.

He told presspersons after inaugurating the station that four traffic police stations — Nagercoil, Colachel, Marthandam and Kanyakumari are functioning in the district and this was the fifth one.

The traffic police could register cases on traffic violation from Kaliyakkavilai to Kumarakovil near Thuckalay.

The strength of the police was 13 persons, including one inspector of police, two sub-inspectors of police and 10 other police personnel in Thuckalay traffic police station. Moreover, steps would be taken to open an all women police station in Thuckalay at the earliest.

The Superintendent of Police, Pravesh Kumar, and others attended the function.

Southern Railway will augment train no. 12633/12634 Chennai Egmore-Kanniyakumari- Chennai Egmore Express with one AC 2-tier coach on a permanent basis. The first service would commence from Chennai Egmore on February 10 and from Kanniyakumari on February 11, a statement said.

பொதுமக்களின் நலன் கருதி அரசு விதிமுறைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டு இயக்கப்படும் என்ட் டூ என்ட் பஸ்களை நிறுத்த சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அதிகாரிகள் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டுமென்று பொதுமக்கள் விரும்புகின்றனர்.வள்ளியூர்- நெல்லைக்கு என்ட் டூ என்ட் பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்படுவது குறித்து வள்ளியூர் கிளை மேலாளரிடம் கேட்டபோது, ""இந்த பஸ் எவ்விதம் இயக்கப்படுகிறது என்று குறித்து தனக்கு தெரியாது என கூறிவிட்டார்.போக்குவரத்து கழக ஊழியர் ஒருவர் தெரிவிக்கும்போது, ""இந்த பஸ் வள்ளியூர் அரசு பஸ் டெப்போ மூலம் பரிச்சார்த்த முறையில் தற்போது இயக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. நாளடைவில் கலெக்ஷனை பொறுத்து மேலும் கூடுதலாக பஸ்கள் விடலாம் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுவதாக தெரிவித்தார்.

தென்காசி-நெல்லை ரயில் பாதையில் ஜல்லி நிரப்பும் பணி தீவிரம்

தென்காசி:தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் ஜல்லி கற்கள் நிரப்பும் பணி தீவிரமாக நடந்தது.தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் 90 சதவீதத்திற்கு மேல் முடிந்து விட்டது. இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் இரண்டு பெரிய பாலங்கள் மற்றும் 20 சிறிய பாலங்கள் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ரயில்வே முதன்மை தணிக்கை அலுவலர் விஜயகுமார் தலைமையில் அதிகாரிகள் மோட்டார் டிராலியில் தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் சென்று ஆய்வு செய்தனர்.

இதனையடுத்து இப்பாதையில் தேவைப்படும் இடங்களில் ஜல்லி கற்கள் நிரப்பும் பணி நேற்று நடந்தது. தென்காசி-பாவூர்சத்திரம் இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதையில் சரக்கு ரயில் மூலம் ஜல்லி கற்கள் தேவையான இடங்களுக்கு கொண்டு செல்லப்பட்டது. ரயில்வே தண்டவாளத்தின் உறுதி தன்மையை வலுப்படுத்தும் வகையில் ஜல்லி கற்கள் போடப்பட்டன. இப்பணிகள் முழுமை பெற்றதும் வரும் 21ம் தேதி தென்னக ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரி தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் ஆய்வு பணியை மேற்கொள்வார் என கூறப்படுகிறது.

நெல்லை-தென்காசி அகல ரயில் பாதையில் சோதனை ஓட்டம்

நெல்லை நெல்லை-தென்காசி அகல ரயில் பாதையில் இன்று சோதனை ஓட்டம் நடந்தது. மதுரை கோட்ட ரயில்வே மேலாளர் கோயால் சிறப்பு ரயிலில் சென்று ஆய்வு நடத்தினார்.

நெல்லை-தென்காசி இடையேயான ரயில் பாதை மீட்டர்கேஜ் பாதையாக இருந்து வந்தது. இந்த ரயில் பாதையில் கடைதி மீட்டர்கேஜ் ரயில் கடந்த 2008ம் ஆண்டு டிச 31ம் தேதி இயக்கப்பட்டது. இதை தொடர்ந்து 2009ம் ஆண்டு ஜன 1ம் தேதி முதல் அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் தொடங்கப்பட்டன.

நெல்லை-தென்காசி ரயில் பாதையில் 72கிமீ தூரத்திற்கு ரூ.220 கோடியில் அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் முடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் 13 பெரிய மேம்பாலங்கள், 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிறிய மேம்பாலங்கள் கட்டி முடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

வழியோரங்களில் உள்ள ரயில் நிலையங்களின் பிளாட்பாரங்கள் அகல பாதைக்கு ஏற்றவாறு அகலப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. மூன்று ஆண்டுகளாக நடந்து வந்த அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் முடிந்ததை அடுத்து அகல ரயில் பாதையில் ரயில் போக்குவரத்தை தொடங்குவதற்கான ஆயத்த பணிகளை தெற்கு ரயில்வே தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

இதற்காக ரயில்வே மதுரை கோட்ட மேலாளர் கோயால் இன்று நெல்லை வந்தார். இன்று காலை 11 மணிக்கு நெல்லையிலிருந்து தென்காசிக்கு இரண்டு பெட்டிகள் கொண்ட சிறப்பு ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டமாக பயணம் செய்து அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகளை ஆய்வு செய்தார்.

இந்த பயணத்தின் போது ரயில் செல்லக் கூடிய வேகம், தண்டவாளத்தின் உறுதி தன்மை, நெல்லை-தென்காசி வழித்தடத்தில் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட, சீரமைக்கப்பட்ட ரயில் நிலையங்கள், பிளாட்பார வசதி, பயணிகளுக்கு தேவையான அடிப்படை வசதிகள் உள்ளிட்டவை குறித்து கோயால் சோதனை நடத்தினார்.

மாநகர போலீஸ் அலுவலகம் வெளியிட்ட அறிக்கை: நெல்லை ஜங்ஷன் பழைய பஸ்ஸ்டாண்ட், ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனுக்கு மதுரை ரோட்டில் இருந்து வரும் வாகனங்கள் தற்போது ராஜா பில்டிங் ரோடு, அண்ணாத்துரை சிலை, தேவர் சிலை அருகே "யு-டர்ன்' எடுத்து மீண்டும் அண்ணாத்துரை சிலை வழியே பழைய பஸ்ஸ்டாண்ட், ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனுக்கு செல்கின்றன. தேவர் சிலை அருகே வாகன நெரிசல் ஏற்படுகிறது.
கமிஷனர் கருணாசாகர் உத்தரவுப்படி நாளை முதல் மதுரை ரோட்டில் இருந்து வரும் வாகனங்கள் ராஜா பில்டிங் ரோட்டில் உள்ள கனரா பாங்க் அருகே வலதுபுறம் திரும்பி பழைய பஸ்ஸ்டாண்ட், ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனுக்கு செல்லலாம். இந்த மாற்றம் ஒரு வார காலத்திற்கு வெள்ளோட்டமாக நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்படும்.
பொதுமக்கள், வாகன டிரைவர்கள் நலன் கருதி இந்த மாற்றம் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது. அனைவரும் ஒத்துழைப்பு அளிக்க வேண்டும். மற்ற ரோடுகளில் செல்லும் வாகனங்கள் எந்த மாற்றமும் இன்றி செல்லலாம்.இவ்வாறு அறிக்கையில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நெல்லை & தென்காசிக்கு ஏப்ரலில் ரயில் இயக்குவதில் சிக்கல்

நெல்லை & தென்காசி இடையே அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள அகலப்பாதையில் நடந்த சோதனை ரயில் ஓட்டத்தில் பல குறைகள் கண்டு பிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால் அறிவித்தபடி ஏப்ரலில் ரயில் போக்குவரத்து தொடங்குவதில் சிக்கல் எழுந்துள்ளது.
நெல்லை & தென் காசி இடையே ரூ.220 கோடி செலவில் கடந்த 2009ல் 72 கி.மீ தூரத்திற்கு அகலப்பாதை அமைக்கும் பணிகள் தொடங்கப்பட்டன. இதில் 13 பெரிய பாலங்கள், 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிறிய பாலங்கள், ரயில் நிலையங்களை சீரமைத்தல், சிக்னல், ரயில்வே கேட் அமைக்கும் பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டன. பணிகள் அனைத்து முடிவடைந்து விட்டதாக கூறி கடந்த 17ல் மதுரை ரயில்வே கோட்ட மேலாளர் கோயல் தலைமையிலான அதிகாரிகள் ஆய்வு நடத்தினர். அப்போது இந்த வழித்தடத்திலுள்ள குறைகள் நிவர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்ட பிறகு ஆய்வு நடத்துமாறு ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமி ஷனர் மிட்டலுக்கு கடிதம் அனுப்பப்படும் என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
ஆனால் நெல்லை & தென்காசி இடையே 40 முதல் 70 கிமீ வேகத்தில் ரயிலை இயக்கி நடந்த சோதனையில் பல பகுதிகளில் தண்டவாளம் உறுதியற்ற நிலையில் இருப்பது கண்டறியப்பட்டது. இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் 4 ரயில்வே கிராசிங் ரயில்நிலையங்கள் உள்ளன. அதிலும் சில பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டியதுள்ளது. உறுதியற்ற இடங்களில் தண்டவாளம் மீண்டும் பேக்கிங் செய்யப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் அடிக்கடி பேக்கிங் இயந்திரம் பழுதடைவதால் இப்பணியில் தொய்வு ஏற்படுகிறது. சிக்னல் பணிகள் 90 சதவீதம் நிறைவடைந்துள்ள நிலையில் இன்டர்லாக் சிஸ்டம் என்பதால் அதை நேர்த்தியாக அமைக்க அதிகாரிகள் தீவிரம் காட்டி வருகின்றனர். இந்த பணிகள் எல்லாம் நிறைவடைந்து மீண்டும் அதிகாரிகள் ஆய்வு நடத்திய பிறகு தான் ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ள அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்படும்.
இந்த பணிகளை முழுமையாக முடிக்க 2 மாதமாகும் என ரயில்வே வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவிப்பதால் திட்டமிட்டபடி ஏப்ரலில் இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் ரயில் போக்குவரத்து தொடங்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. எனவே நெல்லை & தென்காசி வழித்தடத்தில் மே மாதத்தில் தான் ரயில் போக்குவரத்து தொடங்க வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக ரயில்வே உயரதிகாரி ஒருவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

Speed trials using a special train formation will be conducted on the newly converted broad gauge line between Tirunelveli and Tenkasi railway stations on March 5.

An official statement issued here said the Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction), Madurai, will conduct the speed trial between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to assess the condition of the newly laid BG track.

General public and all users of railway line and the premises situated adjoining the gauge have been requested not to come near the railway track and not to approach the track during the above high-speed trial timings.

திருநெல்வேலி : நெல்லை - தென்காசி அகல ரயில் பாதையில் நேற்று நடப்பதாக இருந்த அதிவேக ரயில் சோதனை வெள்ளோட்டம் அதிகாரிகள் வராததால் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டது.
நெல்லையில் இருந்து தென்காசி வரையிலான 72 கி.மீ., மீட்டர் கேஜ் ரயில்பாதை 220 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில், அகல ரயில் பாதையாக மாற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதிகாரிகள் கடைசி கட்ட ஆய்வினை மேற்கொண்டனர்.
புதிய ரயிலுக்கான சோதனை வெள்ளோட்டம் நேற்று காலை 8 மணிக்கு நடத்தப்படும் என தெரிவித்திருந்தனர். இதற்காக சிறப்பு ரயில் ஒன்று நெல்லை ரயில் நிலையத்தின் நான்காவது நடைமேடையில் காத்திருந்தது. ஆனால் மதுரையில் புதிய கட்டடம் கட்டியதில் ஏற்பட்ட ஊழலை கண்டித்து ஊழியர்கள் நடத்திய போராட்டத்தினால் நெல்லைக்கு வரவேண்டிய உயர்அதிகாரிகள் வரவில்லை. இதனால் ரயில் வெள்ளோட்டம் நடக்கவில்லை.
வெள்ளோட்டம் நடக்காததால் ஒவ்வொரு ஸ்டேஷனிலும் பூஜை பொருட்கள், வரவேற்பு ஏற்பாடுகள் வீணாகின. நெல்லை-தென்காசி அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் திட்டமிட்ட காலத்தை விட மிகவும் தாமதமாகத்தான் நடந்துள்ளது. தற்போது அதிகாரிகள் வராததால் மேலும் தாமதமாகிறது.

நெல்லை: நெல்லை-திருச்செந்தூர் பயணிகள் ரயிலில் பெட்டிகள் குறைக்கப்பட்டதால் கூட்டம் அலைமோதுகிறது. இதனால் நெரிசலில் சிக்கி குடும்பத்துடன் செல்பவர்கள் பெரிதும் சிரமப்படுகின்றனர்.
நெல்லை - திருச்செந்தூர் இடையே தினமும் 8 முறை பயணிகள் ரயில் இயக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த ரயிலில் முன்பு காலை, மாலை நேரங்களில் கூட்டம் அதிகமிருக்கும். பஸ்களில் டிக்கெட் கட்டணம் உயர்த்திய பிறகு இந்த ரயில்களில் எப்போதும் பயணிகள் கூட்டம் அலைமோதுகிறது. தற்போது திருச்செந்தூர் கோயிலில் மாசிதிருவிழா நடப்பதால் பக்தர்கள் கூட்டமும் ரயிலில் அதிகம் உள்ளது. இதனால் நெல்லை - திருச்செந்தூர் இடையே பயணிகள் ரயில் படிக்கட்டில் தொங்கியபடி பயணிக்க வேண்டிய கட்டாயம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. கூட்டம் அதிகமாக இருப்பதாக கூறி சில ரயில் நிலையங்களில் டிக்கெட் கூட கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை.
பயணிகள் கூட்ட நெரிசலை சமாளிக்க ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் கூடுதல் பெட்டிகளை இணைத்திருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால் இதற்கு மாறாக அதிகாரிகள் வழக்கமாக 8 அல்லது 6 பெட்டிகளுடன் இயக்கப்படும் ரயிலில் பெட்டிகளின் எண்ணிக்கையை குறைத்து விட்டனர். கடந்த சில தினங்களுக்கு முன்பு 4 பெட்டிகளுடன் நெல்லை - திருச்செந்தூர் பயணிகள் ரயில் இயக்கப்பட்டது. இதனால் பயணிகள் வேறுவழியின்றி லக்கேஜ் வைக்கும் பெட்டியில் ஆடு, மாடுகளை போல் ஏறி பயணம் செய்தனர். மேலும் கூட்ட நெருக்கடியால் சிலர் ரயிலில் செல்வதை தவிர்த்தனர். ரயில் பெட்டிகள் குறைக்கப்பட்டதற்கு அதிகாரிகள் எவ்வித விளக்கமும் அளிக்க மறுக்கின்றனர்.
நெல்லை-திருச்செந்தூர் ரயிலில் அடிக்கடி இதேபோல் பெட்டிகள் குறைக்கப்படுவது வாடிக்கையாக உள்ளது. அதே நேரத்தில் சென்னையிலிருந்து இயக்கப்படும் செந்தூர் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் பராமரிப்பு பணிகளுக்காக நெல்லை வரும் போது காலியாக செல்கிறது. இதே போல மாலையில் பராமரிப்பு பணிகளை முடித்துக்கொண்டு திருச்செந்தூருக்கு காலியாக இயக்கப்படுகிறது. இதில் முன்பதிவில்லாத பெட்டிகளில் மட்டும் பயணிகளை ஏற்றினால் கூட ரயில்வேக்கு வருவாய் கிடைப்பதோடு கூட்ட நெரிசல் குறையும். ஆனால் அதை விட்டு விட்டு ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் வழக்கமாக உள்ள ரயிலில் பெட்டிகளை குறைப்பதால் பயணிகள் பெரிதும் சிரமப்படுகின்றனர்.
எனவே பயணிகள் நலன்கருதி இந்த வழித்தடத்தில் கூடுதல் ரயில்களை இயக்குவதுடன் பெட்டிகளின் எண்ணிக்கையையும் அதிகரிக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும். இதற்கு நெல்லை, தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்ட மக்கள் பிரதிநிதிகள் குரல் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என பயணிகள் எதிர்பார்க்கின்றனர்.

DMK Parliamentary party leader T. R. Baalu sought an allocation of `900 crore in the railway budget to be presented in the Lok Sabha for expediting and taking up projects in the state.

Mr Baalu, also chairman of the standing committee on railways, called on Union railway minister Dinesh Trivedi to submit a memorandum demanding adequate allocation of funds for various projects, sanctioning of new projects and introduction of new trains.

Mr Baalu sought funds for setting up of a third terminal in Tambaram and second plant to build railway coaches.

He also asked the ministry to allocate funds for carrying out doubling works in Villupuram–Tiruchirappali–Dindigul, Thanjavur-Tiruchirappalli and Villupuram-Chengalpattu sections and for taking up gauge conversion work in Coimbatore-Palani and Karaikudi – Pattukottai– Tiruvarur sections.

Besides, he wanted funds for laying new lines on Mannarkudi – Pattukottai and Velankani – Thirukuvalai – Tiruthuraipoondi stretches.

The DMK leader asked the Union minister to sanction new railway projects including sanctioning of a fourth terminal in Chennai at Royapuram and laying of new lines in Avadi to Guduvancheri via Sriperumpudur, Ariyalur–Thanjavur–Pattukottai and Dindugul–Cumbum- Kumuli-Arimalai sections.

Besides, Mr Baalu also demanded introduction of seven new trains including Mannarkudi to Tirupati via Vellore and Tiruchy to Tirunelveli via Madurai.

Yes, many prefer to travel only during the day time in Nellai to Madurai, Madurai to Tiruchi sections since the travel time is more or less 2.5 hrs in both sections. So, a day time CC will only benefit much. Would be nice if connection passenger trains are provided to other places like Tuti, Tiruchendur, Kanyakumari, etc.

^^ Nellai - Tenkasi line is completed. No more funds will be. Only thing they need to do is, starting the service in this line.

But I am not sure about the fund allotted for electrification works.

2.dhadhar-nellai weekly exp via erode coimbatore new service
3.dhadhar terminus-yeswantpur(11017) extend to nellai for 3 days via erode dharmapuri...
then
thirukkural exp have announced as biweekly instead of weekly.

in last budget, even single word were not announced abt nellai, only digested news is chendur exp increased as its frequency..

but this budget is somewhat goodthings here...
but i dont know it will commisioning are not...?

Tirunelveli was considered because last time it was totally missed out as you say and lot of pit lines and maintenance facilities was an advantage.

Dadar Express was introduced because of lot of protests by Mumbai Tamils and demanded for a direct train to Nellai.

SBC - NCJ was not considered because of Trivandrum division not interested on this and Bangalorians wont demand for this. Better the people of kanyakumari should protest a lot and continously sending proposals with the support from MP only will happen. Also Tirunelveli and Hosur people should demand.

No Robo. yeshwanthpur is just 8 kms from cantonment and city railway jn.
This distance is very less when compared to Tambaram and Egmore which is having a distance of about 30 kms. 3 days a week will really helpful to goto bangalore and mumbai.

The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for transporting the polling personnel for the Sankarankovil by-poll for the third phase training to be held on Saturday (March 17).

In a statement, District Collector R. Selvaraj said that since the polling personnel would have to leave for the respective polling stations after the third phase of training to be held at Gomathi Ambal Boys' Government Higher Secondary School, special buses for the polling personnel will leave for Sankarankovil from Vaeinthaankulam New Bus-Stand (7 a.m. and 7.15 a.m.), Valliyoor bus-stand (7 a.m.), Ambasamudram bus-stand (7 a.m.) and Tenkasi Old Bus-Stand (7 a.m.). Hence, the polling personnel can take these special buses to reach the training centre in time so that they can also leave for the polling stations on Saturday itself, Dr. Selvaraj said.

திருநெல்வேலி :வண்ணார்பேட்டை சர்வீஸ் ரோட்டில் உள்ள சாலையோர பூங்காக்கள் பராமரிப்பு இன்றி புதர் மண்டியுள்ளது.
நெல்லையில் அதிகரித்து வரும் வாகனங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையை கருத்தில் கொண்டு மாநகரின் போக்குவரத்திற்கு தீர்வு காணும் கடந்த திமுக., ஆட்சியில் வண்ணார்பேட்டை செல்லப்பாண்டியன் சிலை அருகில் வடக்கு, தெற்காக நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை மூலம் 16கோடியே 40லட்சம் ரூபாய் திட்ட மதிப்பீட்டில் பாலம் அமைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த பாலம் கடந்த 2010 ஆகஸ்ட் 6ம் தேதி அப்போதைய துணை முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் திறந்து வைத்தார். மேம்பாலம் திறக்கப்பட்டதை தொடர்ந்து மாநகரின் இதய பகுதியான வண்ணார்பேட்டை பகுதியில் ஓரளவுக்கு போக்குவரத்து நெருக்கடி குறைந்துள்ளது.

திருநெல்வேலி :நெல்லை- தென்காசி அகல ரயில்பாதை பணியை ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரி வரும் 28 மற்றும் 29ம் தேதிகளில் ஆய்வு செய்ய திட்டமிட்டுள்ளதாக தகவல் வெளியாகியுள்ளது.
நெல்லை- தென்காசி இடையேயான மீட்டர்கேஜ் பாதையை, அகல ரயில்பாதையாக மாற்றுவதற்காக கடந்த 2009ஜனவரி 1ம் தேதி ரயில் போக்குவரத்து நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. இதனையடுத்து 220 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் 72 கி.மீ தூரமுள்ள நெல்லை- தென்காசி அகலரயில்பாதை பணிகள் துவங்கின. கடந்த 3 ஆண்டுகளாக அகில ரயில் பாதை அமைப்பதற்கான பணிகள் நடந்தன. இப்பணிகள் முடிவடைந்ததை தொடர்ந்து கடந்த பிப்ரவரியில் மதுரை கோட்ட ரயில்வே மேலாளர் கோயல் நெல்லை- தென்காசி அகல ரயில் பாதையை ஆய்வு செய்தார். ஆய்வின் போது தண்டவாள பேக்கிங், சிக்னல், லெவல் கிராசிங், ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன்களில் பயணிகளுக்கு போதிய வசதி இல்லாததது போன்ற குறைகளை நிவர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்ட சம்பந்தப்பட்ட ரயில்வே ஊழியர்களுக்கு உத்தரவிட்டார். இதனைதொடர்ந்து ரயில்வே தொழிலாளர்கள் குறைபாடுகள் உள்ள பகுதிகளை கண்டறிந்து நிவர்த்தி செய்தனர். நெல்லை- தென்காசி இடையே கடந்த 5ம் தேதி அதிகவேக ரயில் சோதனை நடைபெறும் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. திடீரென ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் அதிவேக ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டத்தை ஒத்திவைத்தது.
இதற்கிடையே நெல்லை-தென்காசி இடையேயான அகல ரயில்பாதை பணிகள் முழுமையாக நிறைவு பெற்றுள்ளதை தொடர்ந்து பெங்களூருவில் உள்ள ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரி மிட்டல் நெல்லை- தென்காசி அகல ரயில்பாதையை வரும் 28 மற்றும் 29ம் தேதிகளில் டிராலியில் சென்று ஆய்வு செய்ய திட்டமிட்டுள்ளார்.
இது குறித்து ரயில்வே அலுவலர் ஒருவர் கூறியதாவது:
நெல்லை- தென்காசி அகல ரயில்பாதையில் மதுரை கோட்ட மேலாளர் கண்டுபிடித்த தண்டவாள ஸ்திரத்தன்மை, சிக்னல், லெவல் கிராசிங், ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன்களில் பயணிகளுக்கான வசதிகள் உட்பட பல்வேறு குறைபாடுகள் களையப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இது குறித்த பெங்களூரூவில் உள்ள ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரிக்கு தகவல் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. நெல்லை-தென்காசி அகல ரயில்பாதை பணிகளை மார்ச் மாதத்திற்குள் முடிக்க அதிகாரிகள் முடிவு செய்துள்ளதால், ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரி மிட்டல் வரும் 28 மற்றும் 29ம் தேதிகளில் ஆய்வு செய்ய திட்டமிட்டுள்ளார். இருப்பினும் இது தொடர்பாக அதிகாரப்பூர்வ தகவல் வரவில்லை என்றார்.

குலவணிகர்புரம் "சப்வே' பணி

தச்சநல்லூர் ரயில்வே கேட் மேம்பாலம் 24 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் அமைக்கப்படவுள்ளது. பாளை. குலவணிகர்புரத்தில் 22 கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் மேம்பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணி மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். "சப்வே' அமைக்கும் பணி நடக்கவுள்ளது. இப்பணி நிறைவு பெற்றதும் பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணி துவங்கும்.

இரட்டைவழிப்பாதை

தென் மாவட்ட மக்களின் நீண்டநாள் கோரிக்கையான மதுரை - கன்னியாகுமரி இரட்டை ரயில்வழிப்பாதை திட்டம் குறித்து ஏற்கனவே வலியுறுத்தினேன். மதுரை - நெல்லை - கன்னியாகுமரி இரட்டை வழிப்பாதை, மின்சார ரயில் வசதி திட்டம் ஆய்வுக்கு அனுமதிக்கப்படும் என ரயில்வே பட்ஜெட்டில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது. விரைவில் ஆய்வுப்பணி துவங்கும். இத்திட்டம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டால் ரயில்களின் வேகம் அதிகரிக்கும். நெல்லை வழியே கூடுதல் ரயில்கள் இயக்கப்படும்.

கன்னியாகுமரி - திருவனந்தபுரம் இரட்டை வழிப்பாதை திட்டமும் ஆய்வுக்கு அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இரு திட்டங்களும் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டால் நெல்லையில் இருந்து பல்வேறு மாநிலங்களுக்கும் ரயில் வசதி கிடைக்கும். நெல்லை மக்கள் பயன் பெறும் கூடுதல் ரயில் வசதிகள் பட்ஜெட்டில் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

காவல்கிணறு ஸ்டேஷன் திறப்பு

நெல்லை எக்ஸ்பிரஸில் கூடுதல் ரயில்பெட்டி இணைக்க வலியுறுத்தி வருகிறேன். பணகுடியில் அனந்தபுரி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயில் நின்று செல்வது குறித்து விரைவில் அறிவிப்பு வெளியாகும். காவல்கிணறு ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனை திறக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தென்காசி - நெல்லை அகல ரயில்பாதையில் இம்மாத இறுதியில் ஆய்வு நடக்கவுள்ளது. பின்னர் இந்த பாதையில் ரயில்கள் இயக்கப்படும்.

தென்காசி ரயில்வே மேம்பால பணியில் தீவிரம் காட்ட துவங்கிய ரயில்வே துறை

தென்காசி : தென்காசி ரயில்வே மேம்பால பணியில் இரண்டரை ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பிறகு ரயில்வே துறை தீவிரம் காட்ட துவங்கியுள்ளது.தென்காசி நகரில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலை தவிர்க்கும் வகையில் ரயில்வே ரோட்டில் ரயில்வே மேம்பாலம் அமைக்க கடந்த 2009ம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் அடிக்கல் நாட்டப்பட்டது. இப்பணிக்காக மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் சேர்ந்து 32 கோடி ரூபாய் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்துள்ளது. அடிக்கல் நாட்டியதும் மாநில அரசு சார்பில் பணிகள் துவங்கியது. ஆனால் ரயில்வே துறை சார்பில் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் பணி துவங்கவில்லை.
மாநில அரசு சார்பில் ரயில்வே கேட்டின் இருபுறமும் பெரிய அளவிலான பில்லர்கள் அமைத்து கான்கிரீட் தளம் அமைக்கப்பட்டது. மேலும் மேம்பாலத்திற்கு அணுகு சாலை அமைக்கும் பணி தீவிரமாக நடந்து வருகிறது. கடந்த ஆண்டு ஜூன் மாதம் மேம்பால பணி நிறைவு பெற்றிருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால் ரயில்வே துறையின் மெத்தனப் போக்கால் மேம்பால பணியில் தொய்வு ஏற்பட்டது. இதனால் பொதுமக்களுக்கு பல்வேறு வகைகளில் இடையூறுகள் ஏற்பட்டு வருகின்றன. வாகன ஓட்டிகள் பெரிதும் அவதிக்குள்ளாகியுள்ளனர்.
ரயில்வே துறை மேம்பால பணியை விரைந்து முடிக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என பல்வேறு தரப்பினரும் வலியுறுத்தி வந்தனர். தென்காசி எம்.எல்.ஏ.,சரத்குமார் இப்பிரச்னை தொடர்பாக தென்னக ரயில்வே பொதுமேலாளருக்கு கடிதம் எழுதினார். இதனையடுத்து மேம்பால பணியில் ரயில்வே துறையும் அக்கறை காட்ட துவங்கியது. ரயில்வே கேட்டின் மேல் பகுதியில் மேம்பாலம் அமைப்பதற்கான டெண்டர் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.தென்காசியில் ரயில்வே துறை சார்பில் மேம்பால பணியை துவக்குவதற்கான ஆயத்த பணிகள் துவங்கியது. வெளி மாவட்டங்களில் இருந்து தென்காசிக்கு ராட்சஷ இரும்பு பில்லர்கள் லாரிகள் மூலம் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டன. இவை ரயில்வே கேட் அருகில் கிரேன் மூலம் அடுக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டன. ரயில்வே கேட்டின் இடைப்பட்ட பகுதிகளில் பில்லர்கள் எதுவும் இல்லாமல் கான்கிரீட் தளம் அமைக்கப்படுகிறது. இதனால் ரயில்வே கேட்டின் உட்பகுதியில் கான்கிரீட் தளத்தை தாங்கும் அளவிற்கு தற்காலிக பில்லர் அமைக்கும் பணிக்கான தேவையான இரும்பு தளவாட சாமான்கள் தென்காசிக்கு கொண்டு வரும் பணி நடந்து வருகிறது.வரும் ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில் மேம்பால பணியை ரயில்வே துறை சார்பில் துவக்கப்பட்டால் 6 மாத காலத்திற்குள் பணியை முடித்து விட திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. ரயில்வே கேட் பகுதியில் சப்-வே அமைக்கும் பணியும் தீவிரமாக நடந்து வருகிறது. மேம்பால அணுகுசாலை, சர்வீஸ் ரோடு உள்ளிட்ட பணிகள் தரமானதாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என பொதுமக்கள் வலியுறுத்தி வருகின்றனர்.

^^ Nellai - Tenkasi line is completed. No more funds will be. Only thing they need to do is, starting the service in this line.

But I am not sure about the fund allotted for electrification works. i think Nellai to tenkasi train will starts from coming April 14 ( somebody spoke about this in Tirunelveli junction railway department )

நெல்லை-தென்காசி அகல பாதையி்ல் ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டம் வெற்றி

நெல்லை: நெல்லை-தென்காசி வழித்தடத்தில் இன்று அதிவேக ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டம் நடந்தது. வரும் மார்ச் 29ம் தேதி ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்கிறார்.

நெல்லை-தென்காசி இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் 2009ம் ஆண்டில் ரூ.229 கோடியில் துவங்கப்பட்டது. இவ்வழித்தடத்தில் 13 பெரிய பாலங்கள், 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிறிய பாலங்கள், ரயில் நிலையங்கள் சீரமைப்பு, சிக்னல், ரயில்வே கேட், பயணிகளுக்கு தேவையான அடிப்படை வசதிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டன. பணிகள் அனைத்தும் முடிவடைந்த நிலையில் கடந்த மாதம் மதுரை கோட்ட மேலாளர் ஜோயல் தலைமையிலான அதிகாரிகள் குழுவினர் ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டத்தை மேற்கொண்டனர். அப்போது சில குறைபாடுகள் கண்டறியப்பட்டது.

தற்போது அந்த குறைபாடுகள் அனைத்தும் நிவர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டு இன்று காலை அதிவேக ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டம் நடத்தப்பட்டது. மதுரை கோட்ட மேலாளர் (ரயில்வே கட்டுமானம்) அனந்தராமன் தலைமையிலான குழுவினர் நெல்லை-தென்காசி இடையே ரயில் எஞ்சினில் சென்று ஆய்வு மேற்கொண்டனர். 100 கி்மீ வேகத்தில் ரயில் என்ஞ்சின் செல்ல அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டது. முன்னதாக எஞ்சினுக்கு ரயில்வே ஊழியர்கள் சிறப்பு பூஜை நடத்தினர். பின்னர் காலை 9.40 மணி அளவில் நெல்லை-தென்காசிக்கு சோதனை ஓட்டம் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

ஆய்வுக்கு பின்னர் மதுரை கோட்ட பொறியாளர் அனந்தராமன் கூறுகையில், இதற்கு முந்தைய சோதனை ஓட்டத்தில் கண்டறியப்பட்ட குறைகளை முழுமையாக நிவர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டு ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டம் நடந்துள்ளது. அடுத்த கட்டமாக பெங்ளூரில் இருந்து ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் மிட்டல் வரும் 29ம் தேதி ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ள உள்ளார். இதற்காக அவர் வரும் 28ம் தேதி நெல்லை வருகிறார். அவரது ஆய்வறிக்கைக்கு பின்னர் விரைவில் நெல்லை-தென்காசி இடையே ரயில் சேவை தொடங்கும் என்றார்.

MK surely it will happen like that only. when I was kid during MG days I have seen trains from TCN to Kollam via TEN, TSI, SCT. As you know about IR, we can't have separate rakes for TEN-TCN & separate rakes for TEN-TSI / SCT. So for sure that TEN-TCN passenger will be extended to SCT.... :)

In the IR southern discussion forum there is a healthy discussion going about this.
The Chendur express coaches can be increased to 24 coaches. So in TEN the 8 coaches can be removed and it can go to TSI. And the remaining can go to TCN. As usual the maintenance will be done in TEN. Give your views :)

Speed trial tomorrow

Speed trial using a special train formation will be conducted on the newly converted broad gauge line in Tirunelveli - Tenkasi section by the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Bangalore, on Thursday (March 29).

A statement said the speed trial would be conducted between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to assess the condition of the newly laid track.

Public and all users of railway line and premises situated adjoining the gauge converted section are hereby alerted and requested not to come near the railway track or not to approach the railway track during the high speed trial timings.

Speed trial using a special train formation was conducted on the newly converted broad gauge line in the Tenkasi - Tirunelveli section on Thursday.

Commissioner of Railway Safety, Bangalore, S. K. Mittal conducted the speed trial in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Madurai, A. K. Goel.

The speed trial that commenced at Tenkasi at 3.05 p.m. ended at Tirunelveli Railway Junction at 3.55 p.m. as the special train crossed the 72 Km distance within 50 minutes.

“The train was operated at 80 to 90 Km speed in the curves during the trial,” said Mr. Mittal, who expressed satisfaction over the strength of the newly laid track on an outlay of Rs. 220 crore.

Since Mr. Mittal is expected to submit his report on the speed trial within a week, the Divisional Railway Manager is likely to announce his decision on the operation of regular train services on this track very soon.

Madurai,Mar 23(PTI) Tirunelveli-Mysore-Tirunelveli weekly summer express train will have additional stoppage at Bangalore Cantonment Railway station from today. Tirunelveli-Mysore weekly summer express will arrive at Bangalore Cantonment at 03.08hrs and leave at 03.10 hrs. In the down direction, Mysore-Tirunelveli weekly summer express will arrive at Bangalore Cantonment at 23.15 hrs and leave at 23.17 hrs,the release said here today.

Southern Railway is contemplating operation of more special trains on routes facing high demand this summer.

Senior railway officials told Deccan Chronicle that more special trains connecting Chennai with cities like Coimbatore, Nagercoil and Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu and Howrah among a few other cities in far off north might be run this summer.

An announcement is likely to be made early next week, officials added reasoning that the special trains have been filled evenly right now.

The demand so far has been specific and hence the services would be augmented after railways has a clear trend of the rush, officials opined.

As of now, 390 special services have been introduced in Southern Railway zone to meet the summer demand.

The numbers are likely to go up from next week and officials are expecting a few more special services to be sanctioned.

Currently, the demand is very high from mid April, officials pointed out adding that the service augmentation would focus on connecting the tourist destinations or cities close to the tourist hotspots.

For instance, there is mad rush for trains bound to Coimbatore and Madurai which are close to hill stations like Ooty and Kodaikanal.

Interestingly, the waiting list is very high for Coimbatore, Madurai and Tirunelveli bound trains from Chennai during the last week of March and the week afterward as summer vacation begins from late March.

Interestingly, for most others the summer vacation begins only by mid-April as the schools close for vacation then.

தென்காசி : தென்காசியில் ரயில்வே மேம்பாலம் பகுதியில் சாலை அமைக்கும் பணி தீவிரமாக நடந்து வருகிறது.

தென்காசியில் 32 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் ரயில்வே மேம்பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணி நடந்து வருகிறது. மாநில அரசு சார்பில் மேற்கொள்ளும் பணிகள் 75 சதவீதம் பூர்த்தியாகி விட்டது. ஆனால் மத்திய ரயில்வே துறை சார்பில் மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டிய பணிகள் மட்டும் நிலுவையில் உள்ளது. இப்பணியும் விரைவில் துவங்கும் நிலையில் உள்ளது. மாநில அரசு சார்பில் மேம்பாலத்திற்கு மேலே சாலை அமைக்கும் பணி தீவிரமாக நடந்து வருகிறது.

ஜல்லி கற்கள் கொட்டப்பட்டு அவை சமப்படுத்தும் பணி நடந்தது. மேம்பாலத்தின் கீழ் சர்வீஸ் சாலை மேம்படுத்தும் பணியும் நடந்து வருகிறது. ரயில்வே கேட்டின் தென்பகுதியில் சர்வீஸ் சாலையில் ஜல்லி மற்றும் மண் போடப்பட்டு சாலையினை தரப்படுத்தும் பணி நடந்து வருகிறது. ரயில்வே கேட்டின் வடபகுதியில் மண் போட்டு சாலையை சற்று உயரமாக்கும் பணி நடந்து வருகிறது. சாலையில் சரள் மண் கொட்டப்பட்டு அவை சமப்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

ரயில்வே கேட் பகுதியில் சப்-வே அமைக்கும் பணியும் துரிதமாக நடந்து வருகிறது. இப்பணி இன்னும் ஓரிரு மாதங்களில் நிறைவு பெறும் என கூறப்படுகிறது. ரயில்வே மேம்பால பணி இன்னும் ஆறு மாத காலங்களுக்குள் பூர்த்தியாகி விடும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

I have spotted it between Rajapalayam & Senkottai with Senkottai board some 2 years back. It was earlier with Natham depot of DGL region in Natham - DGL - Velankanni.

Is it TN 57 N 1314? I have spotted it between Rajapalayam & Senkottai with Senkottai board some 2 years back. It was earlier with Natham depot of DGL region in Natham - DGL - Velankanni.

Trains can be operated at a speed of 70Kmph in Nellai - Tenkasi new BG...
The train operated with max speed was 110kmph during the speed train run.
People representatives have to raise their voice to operate the trains at the earliest.
At least there should be 4 services per day in TEN-SCT.

தென்காசி : தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் மணிக்கு 70 கி.மீ., வேகத்தில் ரயில் இயக்க அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
தென்காசி-நெல்லை இடையே 72 கி.மீ.,தூரத்திற்கு அகல ரயில் பாதை அமைக்கும் பணி 220 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் நடந்தது. இப்பணி முடிந்து ரயில் பாதையில் ரயில் சோதனை ஓட்டம் நடத்தப்பட்டது. மேலும் ரயில் பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் விட்டல் ஆய்வு நடத்தினார். இவ்வழித்தடத்தில் அதிகபட்சமாக 110 கி.மீ.,வேகத்தில் ரயில் இயக்கப்பட்டு ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் ஆய்வு அறிக்கை தாக்கல் செய்து ரயில் இயக்கத்திற்கு ஒப்புதல் வழங்கினால்தான் ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவக்க முடியும். தற்போது பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் மணிக்கு 70 கி.மீ.,வேகத்தில் ரயில் இயக்க அனுமதி வழங்கியுள்ளார் என கூறப்படுகிறது.
தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் புதிய ரயில் இயக்க மத்திய ரயில்வே துறை நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும். இதற்கு மக்கள் பிரதிநிதிகள் குரல் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என பொதுமக்கள் விரும்புகின்றனர். நெல்லையிலிருந்து செங்கோட்டைக்கும், செங்கோட்டையிலிருந்து நெல்லைக்கும் தினசரி குறைந்தபட்சம் நான்கு முறையாவது ரயில் இயக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
அவ்வாறு இயக்கினால் செங்கோட்டை, தென்காசி, பாவூர்சத்திரம், கடையம், அம்பாசமுத்திரம், கல்லிடைக்குறிச்சி, சேரன்மகாதேவி, பேட்டை மற்றும் அதன் சுற்று வட்டார பகுதி வர்த்தகர்கள், அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் துறை ஊழியர்கள், பள்ளி, கல்லூரி மாணவ, மாணவிகள், விவசாயிகள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் மிகுந்த பயன் பெறுவர்.
எம்.பி.,கள் லிங்கம், ராமசுப்பு, அமைச்சர் செந்தூர் பாண்டியன், எம்,எல்.ஏ.,கள் சரத்குமார், ராஜேந்திரன், இசக்கி சுப்பையா, நயினார் நாகேந்திரன் மற்றும் இப்பகுதியில் உள்ள உள்ளாட்சி பிரதிநிதிகள் மத்திய ரயில்வே துறையை வலியுறுத்தி உடனடியாக செங்கோட்டை- நெல்லைக்கு பாசஞ்சர் ரயில்கள் இயக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என அனைத்து தரப்பு பொதுமக்களும் விரும்புகின்றனர்.

The delay in getting mandatory clearance for the 87 route km Thiruvananthapuram- Kanyakumari electrified stretch is preventing the Railways from running trains hauled by electric locomotive up to the southern tip of the country.

Though the electrified stretch was ‘charged' on December 31 last year, the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) is yet to accede to the request to ‘inspect, test, and measure' electrification works.

Railway sources told The Hindu that the requests made during the last three months by the divisional railway to the CRS to inspect the electrified stretch had not met with success.

The Railways had completed the electrification work at an estimated cost of Rs.70 crore by December. There are 60 rail overbridges and foot overbridges in the section and 13 of them do not have the mandatory clearance prescribed for the electrified railway line.

Sources said the Railway Board could condone it as trains were already running in the stretch. All the works were over. The traction sub-station at Eraniel had been completed and the Tamil Nadu government had agreed to give power to traction sub-station by laying 110 kV transmission line. As a prelude to the CRS inspection, the Railway Electrification Wing carried out a "test run" of an electric locomotive on the stretch on January 2. Chief Electrical Engineer of the Railways had also given the nod for charging the line by drawing 25 kV power.

As the CRS, functioning under the Civil Aviation Ministry, had not given the clearance, the Railways are forced to change the electric locomotive of mail and express trains bound for Nagercoil and Kanyakumari either in Kollam or Thiruvananthapuram Central.

Running trains hauled by electric locomotive will help the Railways to save considerable energy, time, and increase operational efficiency. At present, a minimum of 25 minutes are lost in changing the locomotive of Island Expresses and Kanyakumari Expresses in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram respectively. Often, this causes congestion at the two stations that are already choked.

The 320 route km Thiruvananthapuram- Ernakulam (via Alappuzha and Kottayam) railway line was electrified at a cost of Rs.162 crore and commissioned on December 30, 2006, after a delay of almost one year. The works were executed in association with the Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE) functioning under the railways. The electrification in Nagercoil-Tirunelveli 73 route km line is over and only fine-tuning is needed. In the stretch up to Chennai, the works in Tirunelveli and Madurai yards are to be taken up. “The works will be completed by May and the aim is to run trains hauled by electric locomotive in Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil- Tirunelveli- Chennai stretch by September 2012,” sources said.

Until now there is no direct bus from Sankarankovil to chennai ???

Sankarankoil people are not demanding anything it seems.

They should ask for New Rail line from Tirunelveli via Thalaiyuthu, manur, alagiyapandiyapuram, devarkulam, neelithanallur, panavadalichathiram.

Also Sankarankovil to Ramanathapuram via kazhugumalai, kovilpatti, ettaiyapuram, vilathikulam, sayalkudi

Then Sankarankovil will become a junction.

2. New Railway Line between Tirunelveli – Sankaran Koil Via. M.S. University, Abishekapatti, Seethaparpanallur, Maranthai, Alangulam, V.K. Pudur, Surandai, Chenthamaram, Veerasigamani, Naduvakurichi;

via thalaiyuthu, manur, devarkulam - 61 kms
since there is a line from Tirunelveli to Thalaiyuthu only 54 kms to be laid

via alangulam, surandai, sernthamangalam - 73 kms

So the shortest route is through thalaiyuthu, manur, alagiyapandiyapuram, devarkulam, panavadalichathiram, neelithanallur, kurukkalpatti, thirumalapuram.

He should demand for the shortest route & a new line from tirunelveli to tenkasi via alangulam, surandai

திருநெல்வேலி : எய்ட்ஸ் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில் ரெட் ரிப்பன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயில் நெல்லைக்கு வரும் மே மாதம் 11ம் தேதி வருகிறது.ரெட் ரிப்பன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயில் வருவகை தொடர்பான கலந்தாய்வு கூட்டம் நெல்லை கலெக்டர் அலுவலகத்தில் நடந்தது. கலெக்டர் செல்வராஜ் தலைமை வகித்து பேசியதாவது:
ரெட் ரிப்பன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் கண்காட்சி ரயில் டில்லியில் இருந்து கடந்த ஜனவரி மாதம் 12ம் தேதி புறப்பட்டு 23 மாநிலங்களை கடந்த சுமார் 162 ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன்களில் நிறுத்தப்பட உள்ளது.
தமிழகத்திற்கு இந்த ரயில் வரும் மே மாதம் 9ம் தேதி வருகிறது. நெல்லை மாவட்டத்தில் மே மாதம் 11 மற்றும் 12ம் தேதிகளில் நெல்லை ஜங்ஷன் ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனில் இந்த ரயில் நிறுத்தப்படுகிறது.

தச்சநல்லூர் ரயில்வே லைன் வழியாக ஜங்ஷனில் இருந்து தச்சநல்லூர், ராமையன்பட்டி, புதுக்குளம், கரையிருப்பு போன்ற ஊர்களுக்கு வாகன ஓட்டிகள் சென்று வருகின்றனர். அதுபோல் ஷேர் ஆட்டோக்கள், டவுன் பஸ்கள் தச்சநல்லூர் வழியாக சென்று வருகின்றன. தச்சநல்லூர் ரயில்வே கேட் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயில்கள், பாசஞ்சர் ரயில்கள் மற்றும் சரக்கு ரயில்கள் வரும்போதெல்லாம் மூடப்படுவதால் ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் வாகன ஓட்டிகள் சுமார் 15 நிமிடம் வரை காத்திருக்க வேண்டிய நிலையுள்ளது. இதனால் மாணவ, மாணவிகள், அரசு, தனியார் நிறுவன அலுவலர்கள், வியாபாரிகள் உட்பட பலர் கடுமையாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றனர்.தச்சநல்லூர் ரயில்வே கேட் அடிக்கடி மூடப்படுவதால் இயல்பு வாழ்க்கை கடுமையாக பாதிக்கப்படுவதாகவும், இதனை தவிர்க்க தச்சநல்லூர் ரயில்வே கேட் அருகில் மேம்பாலம் அமைக்க கோரி அப்பகுதி மக்கள் மாவட்ட நிர்வாகத்திடமும், அரசுக்கும் கோரிக்கை வைத்தனர். இதன்பேரில் தமிழக அரசு தச்சநல்லூர் மதுரை- குமரி ரோட்டில் மேம்பாலம் அமைக்க 29.12கோடி ரூபாய் நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்து உத்தரவிட்டது. இந்த நிதியின் மூலம் மேம்பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணியை தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலைதுறை நபார்டு மற்றும் கிராமச்சாலைகள் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருகிறது. அதுபோல் தென்னகர ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் ரயில்வே லைன் பகுதியில் 2 தூண் மற்றும் மேம்பாலம் அமைக்க 18 கோடி ரூபாய் ஒதுக்கீடு செய்துள்ளது. தச்சநல்லூர் மேம்பாலம் தச்சநல்லூர் பஞ்., ஆபீஸ் அருகில் துவங்கி, குமரி ரோட்டில் உள்ள உடையார்பட்டி திருமண மண்டபம் அருகில் நிறைவு பெறுகிறது. மேம்பாலம் 650 மீட்டர் நீளத்திலும், 8.5 மீட்டர் அகலத்திலும் அமைக்கப்படவுள்ளது. இதவிர சர்வீஸ் ரோடு இரண்டு பக்கமும் தலா 3.75 மீட்டர் அகலத்திலும், வடிகால் வசதி தலா 1.5 மீட்டர் அகலத்திலும் அமைக்கப்படவுள்ளது. இந்த மேம்பாலத்தில் நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை சார்பில் மதுரை ரோடு பகுதியில் 11 தூண்களும், குமரி ரோடு பகுதியில் 15 தூண்களும், ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் சார்பில் ரயில்வே லைனில் 2 தூண்களும் என மொத்தம் 28 தூண்கள் அமைக்கப்படவுள்ளன. மேம்பாலம் அமையவுள்ள பகுதியில் உள்ள நிலங்களை கையகப்படுத்தும் பணியை மாவட்ட நிர்வாகம் மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறது. இதற்கிடையே தச்சநல்லூர் பகுதியில் மேம்பாலம் அமைப்பது தொடர்பாக நெடுஞ்சாலை துறையினர், ரயில்வே நிர்வாகத்தினர் மண் பரிசோதனை நடத்தியுள்ளனர். நெடுஞ்சாலை துறையினர் தச்சநல்லூரில் மேம்பாலம் அமைப்பது தொடர்பாக திட்ட மதிப்பீடு தயாரிக்கும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை இன்ஜினியர்கள் குழு அடங்கிய தொழில்நுட்ப தணிக்கை குழு கூடி மேம்பால திட்ட மதிப்பீட்டை ஆய்வு செய்யவுள்ளனர். இக்குழுவின் அனுமதி கிடைத்தவுடன் ஜூன் மாதத்திற்குள் மேம்பால பணிகள் மேற்கொள்வதற்கான டெண்டர் விடப்படவுள்ளது.
இது குறித்து நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை அலுவலர் ஒருவர் கூறியதாவது;தச்சநல்லூரில் மேம்பாலம் அமைப்பதற்காக கடந்த 2011ம் ஆண்டு அரசு 29.12 கோடி ரூபாய் நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்தது. தற்போது திட்ட மதிப்பீடு தயாரிக்கும் பணி நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. இந்த திட்ட மதிப்பீட்டிற்கு தொழில்நுட்ப குழுவினரின் அனுமதி பெற்று ஜூன் மாதத்தில் டெண்டர் விடப்படும். அதிலிருந்து 45 நாட்களுக்கு பிறகு வரப்பெற்ற டெண்டர்களில் தகுதியான ஒப்பந்தக்காரருக்கு பாலம் கட்டும் பணி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்படும். இதற்கிடையே மேம்பாலம் அமைக்கும் பணிக்கு தேவையான நிலங்களை கையகப்படுத்துவது குறித்து மாவட்ட நிர்வாகத்திற்கு முறையாக தெரியப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. நிலம் கையகப்படுத்தும் பணியும், அவர்களுக்கு இழப்பீடும் வழங்கும் பணியும் நடைபெறவுள்ளது.மேற்கண்ட பணிகள் முழுமை பெற்றவுடன், மேம்பால பணிகள் செப்டம்பர் மாதத்தில் துவங்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.இவ்வாறு அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

I have seen a normal bus from Tirunelveli Junction bus stand to Tuticorin in the morning around 8:30 PM. Arun or any others have idea? I am sure that the bus is not from Tenkasi. It is starting from Junction BS only. Spotted in Thalayuthu bound bus platform...

வள்ளியூர்:கன்னியாகுமரி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் எந்தவித முன்னறிவிப்பும் இன்றி அகற்றப்பட்டுள்ள இரண்டு பொது பெட்டிகளை உடனடியாக இணைக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று தென்னக ரயில்வே பொது மேலாளருக்கு ராதாபுரம் எம்எல்ஏ மைக்கேல்ராயப்பன் கோரிக்கை மனு அனுப்பியுள்ளார்.
இதுகுறித்து அவர் அனுப்பியுள்ள மனுவில் தெரிவித்திருப்பதாவது:-
"சென்னை - கன்னியாகுமரி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் தற்போது விடுமுறை காலத்தில் எவ்வித முன்னறிவிப்பும் இன்றி இரண்டு பொது பெட்டிகளை ரயில்வே நிர்வாகம் அகற்றியுள்ளது. இதனால் தென்மாவட்டங்களை சேர்ந்த பொதுமக்கள் பெரிதும் கஷ்டப்பட்டு வருகின்றனர். எனவே பொதுமக்களின் நலன் கருதி கன்னியாகுமரி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் அகற்றப்பட்ட இரண்டு பொது பெட்டிகளையும் உடனடியாக இணைக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்.
மேலும் திருநெல்வேலி, திருச்சிராபள்ளி வரை இயக்கப்பட உள்ள இன்டர்சிட்டி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலை சுற்றுலா தலமான கன்னியாகுமரி வரை இயக்க வேண்டும். திருநெல்வேலியில் இருந்து சென்னைக்கு பகல் நேரத்தில் 1 எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலை தினமும் இயக்க வேண்டும். அகல ரயில் பாதை திட்ட பணிகள் முடிவடைந்துள்ள திருநெல்வேலி - தென்காசி வழித்தடத்தில் பாசஞ்சர் ரயிலை உடனடியாக இயக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதோடு தூத்துக்குடி முதல் செங்கோட்டை வரை பாசஞ்சர் ரயில் இயக்க வேண்டும்.
கன்னியாகுமரியில் இருந்து டில்லிக்கு வாரத்தில் ஒருநாள் இயக்கப்படும் திருக்குறள் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலை தினமும் இயக்க வேண்டும். சென்னை முதல் திருவனந்தபுரம் வரை இயங்கும் அனந்தபுரி எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் இரண்டாம் மற்றும் 3ம் வகுப்பு குளிர்சாதன பெட்டிகளை கூடுதலாக இணைக்க வேண்டும். திருநெல்வேலி முதல் சென்னை வரை இயக்கப்படும் நெல்லை எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் முதலாம் வகுப்பு குளிர்சாதன பெட்டி இணைக்க வேண்டும்.
தூத்துக்குடியில் இருந்து திருநெல்வேலி வழியாக செங்கோட்டைக்கு புதிய பயணிகள் ரயில் இயக்க வேண்டும். நான்குநேரி வழியாக செல்லும் அனைத்து ரயில்களும் நான்குநேரி ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனில் நின்று செல்ல நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும். வாரம் ஒருமுறை சென்னை எக்மோரில் இருந்து நாகர்கோவிலுக்கு இயக்கப்படும் ரயிலை தினமும் இயக்கிட நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்' என்று தென்னக பொது மேலாளருக்கு அனுப்பியுள்ள மனுவில் ராதாபுரம் எம்எல்ஏ மைக்கேல்ராயப்பன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Survey for electrification of two BG lines sanctioned

The Railway Ministry has sanctioned surveys for electrification of two broad gauge lines in Tamil Nadu in the current fiscal.

The Central Organization for Railway Electrification (CORE), a nodal agency implementing electrification projects across the country through its nine project units, has been entrusted with the task of carrying out the surveys for electrification of the Tiruchi – Thanjavur – Karaikal and Tiruchi – Karur – Erode – Dindigul BG sections.

The Railway Ministry in its 2012-13 budget had accorded sanction for the electrification surveys after Southern Railway authorities forwarded detailed proposals to the Railway Board.

The Chennai project unit of the CORE, which is executing various electrification projects in Southern Railway and Southern Western Railway zones, is expected to submit the detailed estimates for electrification of the two BG lines in three to four months upon completion of the surveys.

A top CORE official said electrification of 530 route kilometres was currently underway in various sections in Tamil Nadu. The official said the Dindigul – Madurai and Thiruvananthapuram – Kanyakumari BG sections had been accorded top priority and would be energised shortly.

Joint checks were being carried out in the Madurai – Tuticorin and Tirunelveli – Nagercoil sections which are expected to be energised before this financial year.

Electrification up to Kanyakumari would pave the way for operation of end-to-end express trains hauled by electric locomotives in the Chennai – Kanyakumari trunk route via Tiruchi without a loco change midway.

In the Chennai – Tiruchi – Kanyakumari trunk route, the section from Chennai to Dindigul has already been electrified.

The official said electrification works in the Villupuram – Vellore BG section is expected to be completed in the current fiscal.

The Railway Ministry, he said, had accorded sanction for 10 new electrification projects in the 2012-13 budget that includes Coimbatore – Mettupalayam; Hospet – Guntakal and Torangallu – Ranjitpura; Amla - Chhindwara- Kalumna and Itarsi – Manikpur – Cheoki sections.

தென்காசி : தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் ரயில் இயக்க கோரி வரும் 22ம் தேதி பா.ஜ.,சார்பில் ரயில் மறியல் போராட்டம் நடக்கிறது.

கொல்லம்-நெல்லை இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதை அமைக்கும் பணிக்கு மத்திய அரசு உத்தரவிட்டது. இதில் கேரள மாநிலம் கொல்லம்-புனலூர் இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதை அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. செங்கோட்டை-புனலூர் இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதை அமைக்கும் பணி நடந்து வருகிறது. தென்காசி-நெல்லை இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதை பணி நிறைவு பெற்றுள்ளது. இதனையடுத்து ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் மற்றும் அதிகாரிகள் அகல ரயில் பாதையை பார்வையிட்டு ஆய்வு செய்தனர். தென்காசி-நெல்லை இடையே அகல ரயில் பாதையில் ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவக்க ரயில்வே பாதுகாப்பு கமிஷனர் ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளார்.

ஆனால் ரயில்வே துறையின் மெத்தனப் போக்கால் தென்காசி-நெல்லை இடையே ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவக்கப்படவில்லை. இதனால் நெல்லை புறநகர் மாவட்ட பொதுமக்கள் பெரிதும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். மேலும் தென்காசி ரயில்வே மேம்பால பணியில் மாநில அரசின் பணி நிறைவு பெற்ற போதிலும் மத்திய ரயில்வே துறையின் சார்பில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட வேண்டிய மேம்பால பணி இன்னமும் துவக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கிறது. இதனால் தென்காசி மற்றும் அதன் சுற்று வட்டார பகுதி பொதுமக்கள் அவதிப்பட்டு வருகின்றனர்.

தென்காசி-நெல்லை அகல ரயில் பாதையில் ரயில் போக்குவரத்தை துவங்க வலியுறுத்தியும், ரயில்வே மேம்பால பணியை ரயில்வே துறை துவக்காமல் இருப்பதை கண்டித்தும் தென்காசியில் வரும் 22ம் தேதி பா.ஜ.,சார்பில் ரயில் மறியல் போராட்டம் நடக்கிறது. இப்போராட்டத்திற்கு பா.ஜ.,மாநில பொது செயலாளர் சரவணப்பெருமாள் தலைமை வகிக்கிறார். கோட்ட பொறுப்பாளர் அன்புராஜ், மாநில செயற்குழு உறுப்பினர் குமரேச சீனிவாசன் மற்றும் மாவட்ட நிர்வாகிகள் முன்னிலை வகிக்கின்றனர். இத்தகவலை மாவட்ட தலைவர் பாண்டிதுரை தெரிவித்தார்.

I could see encroachment on the sides, which is a big problem of almost all cities in TN. If parking lots are created and they impose strict fines for roadside parking on narrow roads, they could avoid encroachment of service roads in the future.

2012-13-ம் ஆண்டில் அனைத்து போக்குவரத்து கழகங்களுக்கும் 3 ஆயிரம் புதிய பஸ்கள் வாங்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இதில் சென்னை மாநகர போக்குவரத்து கழகத்துக்கு 150 பஸ்களும், விரைவு போக்குவரத்து கழகத்துக்கு 299 பஸ்களும் விழுப்புரத்துக்கு 550 பஸ்களும், சேலத்துக்கு 301 பஸ்களும், கோவைக்கு 530 பஸ்களும், கும்பகோணத்துக்கு 540 பஸ்களும், மதுரைக்கு 380 பஸ்களும், திருநெல்வேலிக்கு 250 பஸ்களும் இதில் இயக்கப்படும்.

அனைத்து மாவட்ட தலைநகரங்களில் இருந்தும் சென்னைக்கு சென்று வர குளிர்சாதன வால்வோ பஸ் அரசு போக்குவரத்து கழகத்தால் இயக்கப்படும். பஸ்களுக்கு கூண்டு கட்டும் திறனை அதிகரிக்க குரோம்பேட்டை, பொள்ளாச்சி, கரூர் ஆகிய இடங்களில் கூடுதலாக பட்டறை இயக்கப்படும்.

தமிழ்நாடு அரசு போக்குவரத்து கழகங்களில் கடந்த மே மாத நிலவரப்படி 19,167 வழித்தடங்களில் பஸ்கள் இயக்கப்பட்டன. இதை 20 ஆயிரமாக உயர்த்த புரட்சித்தலைவி அம்மா உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார். தொலைநோக்கு பார்வை 2023 திட்டத்தின்படி சென்னை மாநகர போக்குவரத்து கழகத்தில் கடந்த ஆண்டு 3146 ஆக இருந்த வழித்தடங்களை இந்த ஆண்டு 3,500 வழித்தடங்களாக உயர்த்த நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும்.

அரியலூர், கரூர், கிருஷ்ணகிரி, நாகை, நாமக்கல், பெரம்பலூர், ராமநாதபுரம், சிவகங்கை, நீலகிரி, தேனி, திருவாரூர், தூத்துக்குடி, திருப்பூர் ஆகிய 13 மாவட்டங்களில் கனரக வாகன ஓட்டுனர் பயிற்சி மையம் அமைக்கப்படும்.

திருநெல்வேலி அரசு போக்குவரத்து கழகத்துக்கு ரூ. 1 கோடியில் தலைமை அலுவலகம் கட்டப்படும். பயணிகள் விருப்பம்போல் பஸ்சில் பயணம் செய்யும் பயண சீட்டு சென்னை, கோவை, சேலம், திருச்சி, மதுரை, திருநெல்வேலி ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் நடைமுறையில் உள்ளது. இத்திட்டம் வேலூர், ஈரோடு, திருப்பூர், தூத்துக்குடி மாநகராட்சி பகுதிகளுக்கும் விரிவுபடுத்தப்படும்.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் தற்போது 8 அரசு போக்குவரத்து கழகங்கள் உள்ளன. இதை 10 ஆக மாற்றி அமைக்க முதல்- அமைச்சர் புரட்சித்தலைவி உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார். கும்பகோணம் கோட்டத்தை பிரித்து ஸ்ரீரங்கத்தை தலைமையிடமாக கொண்டு திருச்சி, பெரம்பலூர், அரியலூர், கரூர் மாவட்டங்களை உள்ளடக்கி ஸ்ரீரங்கம் போக்குவரத்து கழகம் உருவாக்கப்படும்.

இதேபோல விழுப்புரம் கோட்டத்தை பிரித்து காஞ்சீபுரம், திருவள்ளூர், வேலூர் மாவட்டங்களை உள்ளடக்கி வேலூர் போக்குவரத்து கழகம் உருவாக்கப்படும்.
