I am happy to see skyscrapers like HIRCO dotting the SPDR/Oragadam skyline adding merit to the term State Capitol Region . JJ, Pl start with a Hard Disk Manufacturing facility there for the World. We should use this time and press leading world suppliers in Thailand to set up a mirror plants at Thuthukudi as alternate supply chain. The flood havoc in Thailand is a huge opportunity for us.

I'm one of those big skeptic of these summit's because these are mostly done for political reasons and also of its very poor conversion rate. But i would definitely welcome a genuine investor summit for industry in Chennai.

The investments dont come because of some functions. It is just that the investments are showcased in a function. These functions just show off the investments which anyway would come. For that matter TN or even Maharashtra havent had such summits yet they are the top industrial employers. Just look at the employment numbers for proof. Infact only the BJP rules states (GJ, KA, MP) hold those summits. Having said that most if not all projects shown in those summits are paper projects. Can you refute that with proof? This fashion started around 2004 or 5 with industrial houses bandying fancy, improbable and sometimes even impossible numbers just to look good in front of the public. These are just PR exercises to make headlines in economic times and business standard.
