Later on, when there is heavy rain and the building leaks, Dubai is blamed for having poor construction standards :ohno: AltinD November 27th, 2007, 12:24 PM Thats not completely true....... look at SAMA tower, for example.... Later on, when there is heavy rain and the building leaks, Dubai is blamed for having poor construction standards :ohno: The glass panels on the SAMA tower are/will be attached to the concrete columns, in this tower they will not (see the gap) so where is the need to waterproof them? Face81 November 27th, 2007, 12:40 PM Is it not necessary to even water proof the edges of the floor plates? I mean, that's where the rain would seep in from, at the point where any two glass panels meet? :dunno: AltinD November 27th, 2007, 01:50 PM ^^ My friend, waterproffing on the concrete pillars is done to protect the concrete and the rebar inside from rust, not to stop rain or water seep in into your apartments. That would be taken care of from the sealing of the curtain wall (glass) panels. Face81 November 27th, 2007, 01:58 PM :D Thanks for clearing that up......... now will you please go and take some photographs and update some of the other big projects..... :bash: :D AltinD November 27th, 2007, 02:13 PM ^^ Like? :dunno: Face81 November 27th, 2007, 07:21 PM ^^ Like? :dunno: Emirates Park Towers The Jewel Rolex Tower The Lighthouse DWTC Phase 1  Imre December 28th, 2007, 01:41 PM 28/December/2007 HOTEL JAL TOWER DUBAI http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/5966/imresolt064ro3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/192/imresolt065yu2.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/9908/imresolt087mc1.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/9396/imresolt088qr1.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Skyscraperok December 28th, 2007, 01:50 PM The shape is quite good Beautiful! saeed December 30th, 2007, 12:41 PM I cannot imagine how beautiful this will look, If you realize its gonna be taller than the Park place 234m! JAL Hotels already operates the JAL Fujairah Resort and Spa, which opened in 2007, making it the first Japanese company to manage hotels in the region. The Hotel JAL Tower Dubai, a five-star establishment on Sheikh Zayed Road, is aimed at business travellers. Both hotels are owned by ACICO International Real Estate Development, a property and development company, which is a subsidiary of Kuwait’s ACICO Industries. JAL Hotels said its “brand expansion in the UAE and in the region remains prosperous and promising for more openings to come”. But, JAL Hotels’ parent company has faced a tough time amid a global downturn in travel. JAL, which is Asia’s largest carrier by revenue, has been bailed out four times by the Japanese government. http://www.thenational.ae/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091229/BUSINESS/712299926/1005 AltinD January 21st, 2010, 08:18 PM JAL Tower was topped out more then a week ago when the spire was erected.
