View Full Version : ~~~ Tunisian forum reboot ~~~
Jan January 24th, 2012, 10:52 AM Hi guys,
I noticed these forums could do with a bit of attention. It seems that the one moderator hasn't been online in quite a while, plus some of the sections aren't really picking up.
Here is what I would like to suggest:
- merge all 3 project forums into one general Tunisian project forum
- merge "Infrastructure & Mobility" and "Heritage & Architecture" into one "Architecture & Infrastructure" forum
- merge "Business & Economy News" and "Café des Délices" into one Café des Délices forum.
From our experience, having a few compact forums is better for forum traffic then a large number of slow forums. A slow forum is defined as a forum which last thread on the first page has a lost post over over a month old.
Also, this section needs a staffer. If the Tunisians could decide on who would be the best person for the job, let me know.
Also, all other ideas are welcome. :)
Cheers,
- Jan
CasaMor January 24th, 2012, 12:20 PM I'm not tunisian but if it's necessary, I think you should do that. I have seen only few active tunisian members on the forum these last months!
Concerning the mod, I think one of the african mods could do the job until we get some new tunisian members.
CARTHAGINOIS January 24th, 2012, 12:47 PM je vais essayer de m'en occuper !
musiccity January 24th, 2012, 11:20 PM Do whatever you need to Jan, this forum is dead. There have been times where the last thing posted was 5 or more days ago.
Also, I'd recommend getting one of the mods from the Moroccan or Algerian forum to moderate in here.
yosef January 25th, 2012, 09:31 PM Man, I dont know what happened to the place. After the revolution...it turned ghost town. :(
Those recommendations look good, though I dont know if there are many members in here to vote on them.

I agree with your suggestion Jan. Although I don't understand why this country even got an own forum since this place seems to be a ghost town. But anyway, I would suggest CasaMor to moderate this section. Although he is Moroccan at least he is from a neighbor country and he has proven commitment on his tasks.
[Prinny Man] February 5th, 2012, 05:13 AM Leave it to an active forumer. It just don't have to be a Tunisian, cuz there's no active tunisian down here... Unfortunatly.
Xusein February 5th, 2012, 08:14 AM I also agree that a merge of subforums is needed. Dunno how to attract more Tunisians back here though unfortunately.
xJamaax February 5th, 2012, 01:03 PM I think everything should be bilingual in French and English because Tunisians dont speak English but instead use French and Arabic more.
This would attract traffic in that an average Tunisian would mostly use French or Arabic than English on Google when searching for something. In this case, there would be more possibility of getting more traffic from Google and other search engines if the forum is made bilingual in French and English and maybe a bit of Arabic.
Trust me this is going to work.;)
[Prinny Man] February 5th, 2012, 01:46 PM je vais essayer de m'en occuper !
Inscris depuis fin 2009, mais que 290 posts... Faut être plus actif mon gars !
musiccity February 5th, 2012, 02:24 PM I can start contributing in here.
Until we get some more active Tunisians.
[Prinny Man] February 5th, 2012, 02:50 PM I don't understand what went wrong... There were a lot of Tunisian guys when I first came here !
musiccity February 5th, 2012, 02:57 PM :dunno:
I'll send a PM to Jan to remind of him.
xJamaax February 5th, 2012, 03:45 PM Why can't they just delete this forum?
There are countries in Africa that don't have their own forums since they do not have active forumers yet we are here trying to find out how we should make this country an exception?
lady gaga February 5th, 2012, 05:23 PM You Guy's are mean give the Tunisian forum a break imagine if it wwas your own forum anyway good ideas jan and the Tunisian forum have too many sections thats what makes the foeum dead
xJamaax February 6th, 2012, 12:16 AM They do not necessarily have to delete it but move everything to the general forum.
I dont think people are being mean, we have to deal with the reality that this forum is dead and should not have been here in the first place.
abesha February 6th, 2012, 03:23 AM This forum used to be quite active when it was first created - it gradually slowed down, but it's dead since the revolution last year.
xJamaax February 6th, 2012, 11:45 AM I doubt if those active forumers were even Tunisians or really interested in Tunisia.
Active forumers just dont come and go like that. Look at the new forums like Tanzania, Uganda and Ghana. At least there is always someone active in those forums.
This forum was just created through other dubious means and reasons and everything should be moved to the general forum now that it cant sustain itself as a standalone forum like others.
abesha February 6th, 2012, 02:38 PM Jamaxx stop trolling. Of course they were Tunisians. There isn't a conspiracy behind everything :| It's a freaking forum.
[Prinny Man] February 6th, 2012, 02:41 PM  Jamaa !
Look for the threads and their ancient posts ! The members were TUNISIANS !
xJamaax February 6th, 2012, 04:34 PM Well, they can leave it and maybe the forumers will come back again.;)
xJamaax February 6th, 2012, 09:27 PM Correction
They should move the contents to the General forum and delete the forum.
LADEN February 7th, 2012, 07:37 AM Correction

I agree or make a sub section in the morrocan forum.
Deebo. February 7th, 2012, 07:51 AM Pls delete this forum
Its dead like tupac
xJamaax February 7th, 2012, 12:05 PM Jamaxx stop trolling. Of course they were Tunisians. There isn't a conspiracy behind everything :| It's a freaking forum.I have not completely denied they were Tunisians, doubting doesn't equate to a complete denial.
Stop trolling people's point of view. Not everyone has to go by what you think.
SE9 February 7th, 2012, 04:57 PM Merging sub-forums is the best idea.
UtopianSkyscraper February 7th, 2012, 05:25 PM ^^
I agree with you.
UtopianSkyscraper February 7th, 2012, 05:50 PM I propose to open a new section dedicated to Tunisia into the morrocan forum.
What do you all think?
[Prinny Man] February 7th, 2012, 05:59 PM ^^ With some help of our Algerian brothers, that sure will be a great idea.
UtopianSkyscraper February 7th, 2012, 06:10 PM ^^
No problem, I already suggested this solution to Jan! I'm waiting for his answer. :)
CasaMor February 7th, 2012, 06:21 PM Why not the algerian forum? You are neighbors! :dunno:
I'd say yes if it was Mauritania but the moroccan and tunisian people are not really close to each other! :dunno:
UtopianSkyscraper February 7th, 2012, 06:47 PM Okay, so we have three possibilities now.
1/ Deleting the Tunisian forum and moving all contents to the general african forum.
2/ Moving the Tunisian forum into the Moroccan forum.
3/ Moving the Tunisian forum into the Algerian forum.

I bet it's because of the 2 - 1 ACN match huh

We should try this before deleting or merging the tunisian forum!
CasaMor February 7th, 2012, 07:39 PM ;88324893']sswab l khawi
Non, pas du tout! C'est juste que les algériens sont plus proches des tunisiens. Je ne suis pas contre l'ouverture d'une section étrangère dans le forum marocain. J'ai toujours pensé qu'un forum mauritanien serait le bienvenu chez nous!
I bet it's because of the 2 - 1 ACN match huh
:nono:
They got eliminated! :D I was very happy when Ghana won, haha! It's so uncool, I know! :D
xJamaax February 7th, 2012, 08:21 PM Okay, so we have three possibilities now.
1/ Deleting the Tunisian forum and moving all contents to the general african forum.
That's the most fair and just solution!
2/ Moving the Tunisian forum into the Moroccan forum.
3/ Moving the Tunisian forum into the Algerian forum.
No, Tunisia is not part of Morocco or Algeria. If this happens then we are going to see other countries wanting the same.
We need to stick to the same rules. No exceptions!:nono:
I even doubt whether Tunisia actually fulfilled the criteria for a standalone forum.
Forums don't just die like this including having an absentee moderator.

Option 3!! :cheer:
xJamaax February 7th, 2012, 08:37 PM Option 3!! :cheer:
They can move it to the Kenyan forum too but I personally would have moved everything to the general forum or delete all the contributions if there is still no active contributions.*
*My last post on this thread!

Actually they can. Before the 2010 WC the South African forum was so busy a with a lot of South African members joining for WC developments. Now after the WC a lot have stop coming.
