Nice town.. nothing stnads out... whats its population? and what are side size of those towers? flatiron94 November 4th, 2004, 07:23 PM http://www.traveleze.com/travel_planning/coloradosprings.jpg post pictures , no links please How do I do that SeeMacau November 5th, 2004, 05:02 AM Nothing much ... Doesn't look like a big city. So i think the population will probably between 100000 to 200000. 3/10 ComingtoHouston November 9th, 2004, 04:25 AM Since it is where i grew up, i think i owe it an 8, simply because the quality of life is great and plus i knew no one else would rate it that high. Colorado Springs is larger than you think. It's metro has grown to be over half a million people. I'm currently living it up in Houston TX right now and don't ever plan on moving back to C-Springs unless i had to, or maybe when i get old and crusty. If i was to move back to Colorado, Denver it would be! bunt_q November 11th, 2004, 06:47 AM I also grew up in Colorado Springs, and fled to Denver... 500,000 metro is being a little too generous... bring it a little under 500,000. those buildings are 15 stories... which is about as tall as you can go because of very strict height restrictions. It is known as a conservative Christian center, and the conservative heart of Colorado. The quality of life is okay if you agree with that lifestyle, otherwise Colorado Springs is not a very accepting place. The city is extremely spread out, and traffic is horrible for a city its size. But its proximity to the mountains makes it an overall nice place to live. Economically it is very much stuck in Denver's shadow. All in all, my hometown gets a 4, since this is a *city* and *skyscraper* forum. VanSeaPor April 2nd, 2005, 12:03 AM Cities of 100,000 people have better skylines than that. 3/10. B@dGuYoM April 2nd, 2005, 12:27 AM 8/10 MattSal April 2nd, 2005, 01:39 AM Nothing spectacular, but still okay. I give it a 5/10. JRQ April 2nd, 2005, 04:34 AM 5/10, mainly for the brownish building. O.G. Gnarkill April 2nd, 2005, 05:01 AM Colorado Springs? What the f@#^ ever! I used to live here when my dad was stationed at Ft. Carson (a U.S. Army base located on the southern side of the of the city-for those of you not in the know), and this has to be the lamest city for it's size in the continental U.S.(2005 est. 381,344 in city, 502,008 in metro./El Paso County). The only reason the city is as big as it is now is because of Ft. Carson, USAF Academy, Peterson AFB and it's close proximity to Pikes Peak- albeit the city is situated in a very nice area. It's ultra-conservative,the locals can't drive to save their own asses, and the women suck in bed. If you ever think of moving to Colorado, go to Denver(which ain't all it's cracked up to be either) or Pueblo-stay the phluck away from 'the Springs'!And as for the skyline....what skyline? JRQ April 2nd, 2005, 05:24 AM http://www.springsgov.com/units/planning/images/PlanHome/CScitypan.jpg http://web.uccs.edu/sociology/images/Colorado_Springs_Skyline_72_dpi2.jpg http://www.hommeorchestre.ch/usa/2000-1/USA-Colorado-ColoradoSprings-640x406.jpg http://www.rockymountainroads.com/colorado025/i-025_colorado_springs_skyline.jpg I hope these will help a bit... O.G. Gnarkill April 2nd, 2005, 05:42 AM ^....Still sucks. By the way, was that bottom picture taken from above Bijou Blvd? JRQ April 2nd, 2005, 06:11 AM I'm not really sure....I just thought I'd post a few pics, seeing that we only had one to go by. SoboleuS April 2nd, 2005, 09:32 AM Small skyline, but I've seen much worse than this one ;) 5,5/10 hauntedheadnc April 2nd, 2005, 04:26 PM I'm not especially impressed. 5. Anvers30 April 2nd, 2005, 09:50 PM I used to visit there on my trip to Denver. I give 5.5/10 for skyline but for the city I give 8/10. ptownsnwbrdr April 14th, 2005, 09:02 AM ^....Still sucks. By the way, was that bottom picture taken from above Bijou Blvd? No, the road you are looking at is Colorado. O.G. Gnarkill April 15th, 2005, 03:07 PM No, the road you are looking at is Colorado. Thanx. Former resident of 'The Springs'? (Unlucky You!) ptownsnwbrdr April 16th, 2005, 12:50 AM 17 year resident. The surrounding area is wonderful. :) haha xantarc July 26th, 2005, 10:59 AM Not impressive skyline. 4.5/10. Nouvellecosse July 26th, 2005, 11:46 AM Kinda reminds me of Yellowknife. But considering the size of this metro apparently nearing half a million (which is surprising to me), I'll give it a 3.5/10. The .5 is only because of the setting though.
