MIMICA November 4th, 2004, 03:44 AM Very nice city! Nice pictures Yugoboy! BTW, it's amazing that the majoring of Bihac is Bosniak not Croat, even though it is soo close to Croatia! :)
SinCity November 4th, 2004, 03:50 AM Wont be sleepy for too much longer. Another Zagreb to Split motorway starts next year and this second motorway will pass thru Bihac :)
The first section Zagreb to Sisak starts next year.
yugoboy November 4th, 2004, 04:04 AM Great news sincity!, and yes i have a lot more pics of cities like Srebrenica, Teslic, Tesanj, Tuzla Zenica ect. :)
MIMICA November 4th, 2004, 06:08 AM What's the major religion in Bihac? I don't see many mosques!?
:)
Duckzilla November 4th, 2004, 09:05 AM Yes, Bihać have great river, but actually I don't like the town, especially mahala. I've been there a few times, and...I simply don't like it. I'm angry on Yugoboy becose he didn't show us any city center's pictures ;)
@Timur, as you should know Bihać was Croatia's capital once. After that Ottomans came,
Bihać was occupied. Croats left, Ottomans came. In former Yugoslavia, there were maaany Serbs in Bihać too, but after war Bosnian Muslim Army killed many, all Serbs left Bihać and now you only have Muslims in Bihać. And these last few years there are many new mosques in Bihać (in Federation it's like every day - new mosque somewhere), so there's at least 20 in inner city, but you can't see them on these pictures.
Milo Dukanovic November 4th, 2004, 01:16 PM What's the major religion in Bihac? I don't see many mosques!?

They are in downtown mostly
Milo Dukanovic November 4th, 2004, 01:19 PM Yes, Bihać have great river, but actually I don't like the town, especially mahala. I've been there a few times, and...I simply don't like it. I'm angry on Yugoboy becose he didn't show us any city center's pictures ;)

None..all Serbs in Bihac were setlled there during Yugo period..especially military hangars in Zeljava
Downtown never had any Serbs before world war 2
Serbs around Bihac Pritoka and parts of Ripac were original orthodox vlachs..who were setlled there by Hasan Pasa Predojevic when he took areas around Bihac in 1500
Milo Dukanovic November 4th, 2004, 01:25 PM You are a lia..and im calling you that..since i know this piece of land better then you
All area around Bihac was always Muslim Brekovica..Orasac..Kulen vakuf..Izacic along with Harmani and Luke and Prekounje..parts of Bihac
Biggest concetration of Serbs were in Ozimice neighborhood built especially for Serbs who moved there from Petrovac area or Serbia into Bihac during 80-ies when that was constructed for ''Jna''..who were mostly Serbs
Bihac never even had orthodox church..since all Serbs lived mostly in one neighborhood and sorounding villages where they had church like Pritoka or Martin Brod
Martin Brod still has orthodox church and all Banja Luka mosques were torched..and you are biased.talking about something you have no clue about
bokiii November 4th, 2004, 05:53 PM Milo you sholud see statistics before second world war to chech who was majority in western Bosnia and who is now after WW2...
Milo Dukanovic November 4th, 2004, 06:57 PM Before world war 2 you only had one option to be Serb or Croat
Im telling you like it is....Serbs lived in Grmec and around villages around Bihac and city was all muslim centuries upon centuries
Milo Dukanovic November 4th, 2004, 07:01 PM Bihac 1910 census
4068 population total
3789 Muslims
Drvar was catholic then before world war 1..
Imagine that
bokiii November 4th, 2004, 07:37 PM Before world war 2 you only had one option to be Serb or Croat
Im telling you like it is....Serbs lived in Grmec and around villages around Bihac and city was all muslim centuries upon centuries
No no buddy they still had in cezuses people with Islamic relegion in it.When i looked into it there were three gropus of people not just one or two.

Sarajka April 18th, 2005, 11:36 PM ^ Interesting, you only have 17 posts, you speak English as well as Duckzilla, and you have exactly the same IP address he did. ;)
And how cute, you've started signing your posts similar to Majevcan... :D
salvius April 19th, 2005, 12:00 AM It's interesting, - and please don't take this as an insult anyone - the vast majority of towns in BiH tend to be fairly average in architectural merit, but the religious institutions are often so very beautiful:

Sarajka April 19th, 2005, 12:28 AM ^ I agree, unless you include cities like Sarajevo and Mostar in your "average towns" grouping. :)
I think most cities in BiH have beautiful Old Town districts, ranging in size from a small one like that in Gracanica, to an absolutely enormous one like that in Tuzla. These I think are absolutely gorgeous, by any standards.
However... ;) The communist/modern areas of most villages, towns, and even cities in Bosnia-Herzegovina...to call them "average", I think, is an undeserved compliment. :D ;)
salvius April 19th, 2005, 12:41 AM ^ I agree, unless you include cities like Sarajevo and Mostar in your "average towns" grouping. :)
Yeah, I'd include them in my grouping too. I mean, those are just hell holes ;)
Sarajka April 19th, 2005, 12:46 AM ^ Don't make me take off my shoe... ;) You hear me? DO NOT MAKE ME TAKE OFF MY SHOE, young man! :D
yugoboy April 19th, 2005, 01:47 AM wow! I forgot all about this thread! :D hahahha...
Bihac is a beautiful city... peacefull, and seems it will have a good future :)
MIMICA April 19th, 2005, 03:38 AM wow! I forgot all about this thread! :D hahahha...
Bihac is a beautiful city... peacefull, and seems it will have a good future :)
I must agree, Bihac is a EXTREMELY beautiful city. I also do believe that it has great potential, yet I don't think you know what kind I'm thinking about. I was thinking that all those cities in BIH that aren't exactly great in size or population for a country the size of BIH, and turned into great cities of tourism. Some cities such as Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, and Tuzla would probably fulfill both the things, industrial and tourism, and that would a great way to keep progressing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with what we've accomplished so far, but if we really want to become a country that has GREAT quality in every aspect, then that is the thing that needs to happen. I do believe that has been occuring lately as well though...
yugoboy April 20th, 2005, 03:27 AM I think every city in Bosnia has a good future for tourism, I mean literally every city has something to offer weather its an old bridge in Mostar, a spa in Teslic, or the Una River in Bihac. (off course there is a lot more in these cities, but basically that’s what they are known for). Bosnia can become a major tourist attraction inside the Former Yugoslavia, but the rest of the world... well that will take time.. .since SOME people still think Bosnia is in Africa.. although i have noticed particularly in Sarajevo, and Mostar there have been many tourists coming from the west. :)
Sarajka April 20th, 2005, 03:46 AM ^ I should start charging a fee for all the tours I've given of Sarajevo. :) At least once a week during the summer, a tourist happens into my life. I just can't resist showing Sarajevo off at every chance I get. :D I spent all weekend with one woman from Italy, we even went clubbing together one night. :) I took her everywhere - it was her first time in an Orthodox Church and in a Mosque.
She couldn't believe how serene the Mosque was, or how much food and drink went around at an Orthodox Church service. We went to the Prince's Park Restaurant and she told me that was her favorite part of eating there was listening to the sounds people made when they were done - ahaha. :D
She gave my husband a set of Rosary beads that were blessed by some important Cardinal in Rome; and she took a picture of us together to submit to an organization in Italy that prays for these people who are sudmitted, all day, every day. :)
It's nice the tourists are coming back, I really enjoy it. :D
3tmk April 20th, 2005, 03:59 AM how did she get into the mosque?? I though they were closed to infidels ;)
Sarajka April 20th, 2005, 04:03 AM ^ Hahaha, no. :D
