Project: Claudine Tower
Location: Junction Maktaba and Bibi Titi Mohamed Streets

Concept designs for a new futuristic 40 storey tower which would be the tallest landmark building in East Africa. It is intended that construction commences in early to mid 2012. The base of the building is a retail plinth providing high-end shopping on 4 different levels. Maximum parking is provided at ground level and at a basement which covers the entire site which is 18 city plots. Sat on top of the plinth are 2 towers. The smaller one is a 60 bedroom boutique hotel. The main tower consists of 36 floors, mainly office space, with luxury apartments at the top 6 floors. The tower will be designed with a Bioclimatic Skin which will provide an environmental buffer to cool and shade the building.

Do u mean that a 40 storey building can have only 30,000 m2 of space and shouldnt 36 + 6 = 42. How tall is the smaller one
mwinyi January 31st, 2012, 02:24 PM Actually I love the concept tayari
I'm more impressed by this firm...I might give them a job to design my house in Dar.
bnr_888 January 31st, 2012, 02:39 PM Well I guess our dream of having the tallest building in East Africa might just remain a dream for the upcoming future as Uganda is planning to have the tallest one in the region with 60 Storey building !!!!!!

tanzan February 1st, 2012, 08:02 AM what I don't understand is that CMC refurbished their current offices recently. Why would they do that just a year ago and now demolish it now?
we need to dig deeper to know about this project.

Kenya are also planning a 70 storey tower!
tanzan March 7th, 2012, 10:26 AM guys this is not Kakakuona tower...I have seen it but having problems uploading it.If this tower plus Kakakuona, the 2 Mzizima towers get built...will change the skyline immensely since they are in the same location.

I would imagine the place renovations has not cost above 4 million usd while they have a plan to build a 40 million usd
I think they should just move the showroom from there all together
not ideal location to sell cars in my opinion

I doubt USD 4m, thats too much maybe 1.You are right. But wouldn't it be cool to see a couple of Rangys in the tower as mini showroom.
