err...not so sure..The last time i was there is during Chinese New Year. Some temples still haven't complete. And they r now collecting funds to built something like ''pavilion'' to cover the Kuan Yin statue :D

Of course... this is because our Government wants to preserve the pre-war houses.... hence you can expect highrises in that area...

Just think of old cities like London.... the highrises are not really in the centre of the city.... well this is what I think...

That's why I think our Government is correct that... they pre-serve the pre-war houses... and gather all the highrises in the Pulau Tikus area... this is a one stone 2 birds method......

Not forgetting Paris... All the modern high-rises are located either near Tour Montparnesse or the La Defense area...

The city center itself is full of the old buildings including the Tour Eiffel and Arch de Triumph... Wonderful job of preservation there!

I doubt it will ever happen...

First of all, there are many old houses in that area and i don't think the owners will want to sell their property to developers that easily... Furthermore, that famous reclining buddha statue and snake temple are in the area as well...

They should just keep the present skyline and make whatever enhancements along the coastline...

Make penang into gold coast lah! Build the buildings along the coastline, so that the heritage area can remain preserved...

The monorail line (or LRT) can then be build alongside these areas to connect with the inner-city...

it's a malaysian restaurant in Philadelphia's Chinatown...pretty neat, been there few times and the food is not too bad....it's a chain actually, there are a few in NYC, Chicago and DC..that I know of.

i took from a temple on the hill. can see kek lok si also:happy:

very nice farlim pic...but the angle he took not nice...hehehhe...Farlim suppose to be clowded wif high-rises...:)

i still prefer the Paya Terubong cluster. i think it is more dense and the hills creates a better backdrop.

but both areas also lousy designed buildings he he.....

you don't actually need a tripod when making a pano during the day. just try to be as still as possible;)
